I was an SAC in the brake parachute bay when the Jags were there. I managed to get an air experience flight in a Shack from Lossie. Happy days. Last of the big piston bangers.
I so miss the Shackleton. There is one thats in ground running condition at Coventry airport along with a Nimrod that I believe is being also prepared for teaching condition.

i flew in that beauty with wing commander Stephen Roncoroni at the controls, a jolly for the new sqn storeman. up 8 squadron!

My first ever det with the RAF was Akrotori for a month with 8 Sqn Shacks. Great days. Good to see a Jag making an appearance too.
