Are you claiming that she only has a three octave voice? If so, that is obsurd. She isn't going into the lower octaves here by design. Then you top it off by saying she sounds great for 80. That sounds like a backhanded compliment and not a compliment at all.

Mariah's songs are difficult to sing, and it is difficult for most people to reach this level, but Patti can sing very well, and can even sing Bb5 mixed, which is a level that Mariah has never been able to achieve in her life. What a great show. By the way, Jennifer Hudson's rendition of "Vision of Love" was terrible and not good to listen to.
Mariah would've actually used her whistle voice to hit a Bb6. Patti used mixed voice and a belt, she actually hit a Bb5 but produced Bb6 overtones so it would sound like Mariah's original note. Two completely different techniques from two completely different singers-- their voices don't work the same, they're not even using the same vocal chords.
Has her voiced aged better than any vocal titan? Babs is still good? Celine may have also made it. But Mariah, Whitney, and Aretha not held on to their level like this.
