I now understand why she calls herself an alto -- even though she's a Soprano. It seems as though, when she's not performing her music like normal, she prefers to sing in this range.

@@benjaminwashington2087 Her voice doesn't have the depth of a Mezzo-Soprano. Heck, her voice doesn't even have the depth of some lower Sopranos (like Patti Labelle or Jennifer Hudson).
Their voices are just loud. Mariah’s voice has more depth and sits naturally lower imo.
