I thought this was gonna be another "so we can start the switch 2 Pro/switch 3 leaks" joke and audibly sighed ngl. I agree though I want to see the game library so bad.
It really is disappointing considering that is a 6 yr old process, and 5nm is 4 yrs old. The switch used a 3yr old process when it came out, so 8nm is more outdated than OG switch was.
@RiqMoran agreed. it's even sadder that so many fanboys are defending this. 8nm chipset was made in 2018, meaning the next Nintendo system will be 7 years behind the current technology.
Everyone keeps forgetting that Furukawa said Nintendo will no longer use outdated tech but will try to use more cutting edge technology for their consoles. It's not gonna be 8nm. It would be counterproductive for Nintendo considering 4 or 5nm would give better battery performance and less heat.
Something else that the patent details which likely also lead to the need for a patent is that it hints that this seemingly custom version of DLSS can actually be trained BY GAME DEVELOPERS with their own 4K assets which can then be swapped out for 1080P assets in the Switch version of the game to both reduce overall file size while also improving the accuracy of the upscale. If Nintendo has somehow found a way to tie this into their development software then that would be quite amazing.
"Did nintendo take too long to reveal the console?" Valid question with a simple answer. "Yes." After riding the same console for 8 years without a big upgrade ofcourse people were gonna be impatient. I think what really caused issues is them saying in may of last year that they will be talking about the successor during this fiscal year. A ton of people were argueing that he said it was towards the end of the fiscal year but i literally dont see any mention of that so i think its sorta reasonable to expect an announcement when the fiscal year is pretty much close to over. I just dont get why they make an announcement that early and the first information we get is roughly 6 months later with a sorta barebones "yes its backwards compatible, but we wont tell you exactly how 🤫" If those leaks are to be trusted, they are kinda running out of time until this thing is pretty much fully shown to the public. I dont really understand whats taking them so long. Especially given that these cycles of reveal, marketing, release etc. are very much planned out years before most of the time. It feels like the tweet from furukawa last year was kinda just an attempt to let people know "Hey, we hear you, its happening sometime within the next 12 months" but i feel like it just added a bit more fuel to the fire of people wanting to finally upgrade after 8 years. (I mean i love the switch but its about time we get an upgrade, lets be real.)
So what if its revealed by leakers? Since when have consoles rely on secrecy to launch their consoles? Hype? We're all gonna be lined up to get our Successor console day one anyway. 🤷🏽
Wild to see this type of stuff with no word from Nintendo. No pulling things down, no denial, it's probably safe to expect a lot of the latest stuff to be real. Makes you wonder... For the hardcore fanbase the leaks just seem to whip up a bunch of hype and do the marketing for them. For the causal, the bread and butter of nintendo, none of them will notice or care until nintendo reveals it themselves. Could just be that they're happy to let the free press hype cycle do it's thing.
I don't see why people are surprised about the Switch 2's SoC likely being 8nm, we've known for about 2 years now that it would most likely be using the Tegra T239 which is based on the Ampere architecture and that architecture was used for the RTX 3000 series graphics cards which were 8nm
Seems extremely likely it's 5nm with this motherboard leak, 12gbs of the currently best DDR5 mobile ram, and highly utilized DLSS. Switch 2 will be a nice console.
Right now the only game coming out this year that I care about is Metroid Prime 4, I want it to both be a masterpeace of a game that was worth the wait and sell we'll enough for the Metroid franchise to survive, and possible branch out into some other kind of media.
Might not be a notch (well kinda) but remember an old news article about Nintendo looking at slots in the actual cart (what for I have no idea.) So it might allow a cart with another cart slotting in to fit.
You really putting trust on a Metroid Fans, the same fans who are kind and constantly get harassed by you Star Fox fans lmao. Message from me to Samus Hunter don't tell these Star Fox clowns jack 😂😂...
It's NOT the actual motherboard, just pic of a random board from a random no-name subReddit user which has nothing to do with Nintendo upcoming console, just the board from some leftfield device😓😤😠
Deja Vu. One thing to note, we can't assume this generation of Switch will last as long as Switch 1. There always could be a Switch 2 Pro or upgrade depending on how successful Switch 2 is.
Dude your a bit behind in the content lol like an accessory manufacturer for Switch 2 has just confirmed an event that will feature the switch 2 on 7th January ! THIS MEANS THE OFFICIAL REVEAL WILL HAPPEN BEFORE THEN 😱
So many Nintendo shill apologists. 8nm is likely because Switch 2 was actually supposed to be Switch Pro released in 2022. It would still have been old tech but more palatable than it is now. That dude Laura Kate Dale knows squat. He just regurgitates what others say. Nintendo has proven over and over again that they’re a full generation plus behind, often using very old mature tech because it’s cheap. You people do this every gen lol.
@@RiqMoran bro I HEAVILY recommend you to watch Super Metal Dave he goes into so much technical depth and the ONLY thing this is affecting is the handheld aspect..

man same. been sick for 3 days
Happy new year Andres. The year is looking promising from Nintendo!
I’ll be glad when Nintendo finally reveals the Switch 2 so we can start talking about the games instead of hardware leaks.
forreal all this hardware stuff is boring af, the specs are the only interesting thing about it but even that isnt much. i wanna see the games
@ Yeah, I’m looking forward to having it in my hands and playing some great games.

Facts. I only care about the specs insomuch as they inform us about what to expect in terms of how the games look/perform.
Keep on dreaming. After the reveal, it will continue with Switch 2 Pro, Switch 3, etc. bacchanalia so it NEVER ends😅😓
Using 8nm chipset in 2025 is just so Nintendo. They always pick the cheapest route

It really doesn't matter because they're using a New Gen DLSS GPU which is miles ahead of the PS5 and Xbox X..
If it is 8nm, then it will become clear that it was originally supposed to be a midgen refresh released 2 or even 3 years ago.
