I could go more than 4 wks without a fill (but I don’t) just because my nails grow SO slowly, but I HAVE to do my moms every 2 wks or she has stress fractures. It’s crazy how different everyone’s growth is different.
Mine are like your mom's. As I've gotten older, mine also will have growth spurts. One day they'll be okay and the next they'll be completely outgrown, so I have to do mine usually every 7-10 days as the 14 days is really too long for sure now.
@@Mir_Nohti Yeah. Two weeks is kind of pushing it for her too. We’ll be busy with other stuff & she’ll say, “If nothing else, we need to take this stuff off.” Me, on the other hand, I’ll go ahead & do the tiniest of fills, just because I want to change my design & do my cuticle care. Lol
@@michellew97 I get your mom's sentiment of just wanting them off if there was no time/ability to get them serviced properly... they literally become a liability and become dangerous. Thank you SO MUCH for pointing out how you just can't really tell the mistakes of the nail tech/salon who did her set before, or even know how the set looked originally because it's been too long. I see SO MANY people trashtalk other's works when they are looking at a set from 5/6 weeks ago, or nails the client ripped off/didn't take care of, and then they blaming the nail tech who did it... Just why the need to talk like that about other's work when you just cannot even tell what the set was like originally or what happened in between... So yes, thank you for that, i loved that detail!
lol, that’s like a tourist visiting the ruins of ancient Greece and leaving an angry Yelp! review complaining that they’re old and broken 🤣 “2/10. what a dump. everything crumbling and in disarray. these bozos couldn’t even build architecture that LASTS!”
Two takeaways here. First on the whole "anything unnatural is from the devil" thing. Hardly anyone is 100% natural these days. Hair dye, makeup, nails (even natural nails with polish), pierced ears, necessary things like glasses or hearing aids... all those things aren't "natural". But it's only women who get shamed for being "unnatural" somehow. I wish more people would take a "live and let live" approach to life. If you're an adult and what you're doing isn't hurting anyone and it makes you happy, then I say go for it! Secondly, as for this nail transformation, they came out looking loads better! At this point the only way to fix these nails and have any length was to cut them all off and do extensions like you did. This is why I don't understand why so many people get so attached to keeping their natural nails. I've said it in one of your comment sections before and I'll say it again (and probably keep saying it lol) - very few people are blessed with perfectly straight and strong natural nails. Most of us have at least a couple that grow in an undesirable way. There's so much more that can be done with extensions whereas with an overlay, you're faced with certain limitations. Give me fake all day every day! 😂😂
BEAUTIFUL job, Anastasia! I do not understand the debate with "real" nails vs fake or nail extensions. To each their own, I say. Mine are short w/gel polish as I am on a computer all day. But I appreciate however someone wants to wear their nails.❤❤❤
The whole nail extension is of the DEVIL thing? sheesh what a load of manure. If I didn't use gel for overlays and extensions I wouldn't have nails, not because I don't take care of my natural nails but because I have permanent health issues that damage my nails. Using builder gels etc actually helps protect my nails from damage and gives me opportunities to express myself and improves my mental health thru making an unattractive part of me into something I can look at and feel proud of myself for and look good. In any case haters are always gonna find something to harp on about, just ignore them and keep doing what you enjoy.
Ooh I’m here early! I love love LOVE this design! Inlays are so beautiful and also it makes up for the fact that your client’s natural nails getting cut, they couldn’t stay in order to have this design. Amazing work as always🙌
My nails have the opposite problem, they grown downwards. So much so these days that I hardly can grow them out without them starting to feel uncomfortable or get in the way/break easily 😥
There were natural nails before extensions. I have had long nails since I was a teenager. I started doing my nails during the lockdown and let them grow out by using extensions now that they are the length I want I use acrylic overlay.
Yes, finally, nails like mine!! 😆 I really wish I could grow them long naturally, especially since they grow quicker than average, but they grow upwards and flatten. I LOVE almond extensions! 🥰
The outcome is absolutely beautiful. Tfs🙂🥰.. oan I'm glad the client agreed to cut down her natural nails. They were definitely long but not in good shape they needed to go. It's just like having super long hair yet the hair has a ton of split ends, chemical damage and breakage.
I have hyperhydrosis, I’m lucky if a set gets to 2 weeks let alone all that time lol. I’m lucky, mine grow straight but some have intense c curve that can hurt
As long as the client gets regular fills, won't the hard gel prevent the new growth from deforming? Or does it depend upon how hard a client's natural nails are (thicker, inflexible nails will deform regardless; thinner, flexible nails may not)?
True, it may help a little, but usually if the grow is "extreme" upwards, it will remain like this as it depends on the ligaments tension inside the finger. However, curving of the free edge and some other things may become less noticeable overtime when having gel/acrylic extensions consistently
@@Nailcou Thank you for the reply! I'm right-handed, and all of the nails on my left hand grow normally. But in my right hand, my thumb & ring fingernail freeedges fold down on the left side (as I look at them). My index fingernail freeedge is ski-jump. My middle fingernail freeedge bends down. But my right pinkie nail grows normally. It's weird!
NAILS ARE DEAD so what different if you have long natural nail (which is dead) or product? When extention was make correct, is more save for save than long natural nails. Its something like saying you shoudlnt shave your legs' hair, just take care for them 😂
Every 12-14 months I'll have my nails cut down and tips put on with acrylic. Usually within a month, I'll go in for a fill and the tips will be cut off and thus starts my overlay. If I don't get a new set done every year or so, my nails will start to curl around my finger tips. It caused the edges of the overlay to lift 🤷♀️
I have a deep c curve in my natural nails that's why I do overlays because they were growing away from the tip I'm finding they are doing this with the overlay too.
I’m so glad I saw this today! I’ve been growing out my natural nails for a while but one broke the other day. I wanted to use BIAB to do an extension on the short nail instead of cutting them all short but when I told my my mum she was mortified! Needless to say I’m gonna do the extension anyway and show mum they actually look great!
😲 wow! it’s almost like when you see somebody, and they only have one straggling tooth in their mouth!!! It’s like let go of that tooth and go get dentures or implants! But sometimes people can’t see that themselves, you know??👍 if your nails are growing up specially like in this video, you’re better off to not try to grow your nails long and natural because we all looked at pictures of long natural nails that are like 3 feet long and do they look good? No! They look terrible, and they have no function to them, except for to restrict what you can do with your hands!! And the same would go for this nail video with the girls nails growing up can you imagine how painful that would be if she stubbed that natural thing now and it ripped it right off the nail bed? Now you need either extremely short or some type of acrylic or something! 😅😊 👍👍👍 Absolutely, you have to take care of your nails don’t let them grow out so long. If you can’t get into a nail salon, then clip the nails are filed them down or clipped them find a way to shorten them in file off the rough edges until you can get back into a salon don’t let them just grow crazily because that can cause damage to your natural nail and nail beds, which could cause your nail plate to come off the bed cause you an infection and all kinds of stuff! Don’t let your nails grow out long.
I get what you mean about feeling wistful cutting the natural nails off, but things reach their natural end, or were futile in the beginning. My brother once wrote an article for his school newspaper where he totally misunderstood the assignment, so it wasn't accepted and was poor quality because... well, essentially it was a nonsensical piece of writing. If your nails are flat, twist and curl, and grow upwards, is the result worth it or just futile? When you could get gorgeous strong extensions, are your thin scraggly natural nails that you can't actually do any task with, worth it? So im glad this model was happy to do extensions.

And to answer your question Anastasia I am not a nail tech (yet!) but I would offer to trim the natural nails and do extensions if they want the same length but try to just freshen up the natural nails so they can continue growing them out but not start from scratch if the client is too attached to the natural length.
