The rating is something you get after taking average of all the rating you get on all aspects of the appraisal questionnaire. You are assigned a band afterwards. Which band to assign to you depends on your rating (IPF score), but also depends on your manager and HR. You can get an IPF of 3.5, 3.9, 4.1 and still get B band. You can also get 3.9 rating and get C band. At the end, your hike depends on your band, and not rating.

That is a tricky question to answer to be honest. I am not sure about the exact policy regarding this. Better would be to check with someone from the HR team.

Hi Roy, what about the people who joined tcs as experienced person … suppose if any person joins in april so will he have to wait for almost 2 years or how will the hike be?
I can't be entirely sure on this, you may have to check this with the HR, but I guess the final anniversary appraisal is only for freshers. For experienced people, they will receive appraisal in the next appraisal cycle itself. So for your case, if you join in April 2021, your first appraisal should be in this cycle.

Did you join as a fresher? I guess if you join in May, you will not be part of the normal appraisal cycle for this year as you will have your one year anniversary appraisal around may itself

Bands are released by mid or end of April. It is hard to say by when they are decided or submitted as it depends on the Organization and also on the account. Yes, I wouldn't say there are no chances of you getting a C band.

If the role and salary are good, you should switch. If the role excites you and you feel you will be able to learn in the role, then definitely I would say you should go.

Bands don't always map to any equivalent IPF. But depending on my experience you might get B. There are chances of getting C also, but you have to check your project and manager's history. Because these things may change from project to project. But you will most probably not get an A band in the cycle
There are chances, but you can't say for sure. In my experience, the A band depends on a lot of things, including your manager and your dependency on the project

Normally the hike is applied on the whole salary not only the base salary as far as I am aware.

Don't worry it happens but i think they give very less increment which is less than any bank FD interest

Please contact your HR point of contact for details. As you joined a month ago, you shouldn't be a part of appraisal.
Same with me, I joined on 9th Dec 2021, my lead asked me to initiate the appraisal on SPEED and he has given me the attributes and goals.
