THIS is one of the most awesome, chilling stories you have ever done! Forgive my saying so, but it seems to me that some of your older works are a bit better with the scare factor than many recent ones. That is not to be over critical, but you've set such a high bar that it is truly challenging to meet or exceed it.
I think that's for plot purposes. Like yeah, in the beginning they were setting up the plot too but then it focussed more on the fear factor. Then it slowly becomes more plot driven
ok there it is. this one got me. the thought of death and bodies is ok because we try to process them as fast as possible but finding an oozing tainted dead body with the heat and the flies and the smell is very UGH. I thought i was fine because The Man Upstairs was gross but the sheer amount of rotting meat and the creature made it campy . this one was on a different level for me. Hearing of such a lovely place go to hell like that combined with the creepy new director and the dead silence and smell and the FLIES. I've been dreaming about flies after binging this series for three days. People say if you havea fear, the magnus archives has an episode about it. For me its like "You dont know what you're afraid of? We'll find it" That whole time by face was just ina permanent open mouthed grimace.
my dad owns and is the main worker of a funeral home. i intend on taking over once he is retired. this one hit different. edit: our funeral home is right next to the house. we live right next to it, the only gap between the buildings being a gate to get into the garden.
If I remeber correctly the spiders didn't get along with the worms, so I'm hoping this lighter will save my tired boy John. The table is obviously Grahams and the delivery was made by Beacon and Hope delivery. What is the meaning of this and it's consequences? I have no clue, but I'm here for the ride.
I really don't know how to feel about the packages... The table is clearly no good although I'm not sure how dangerous it is when you don't look at it. The lighter however... In that episode with the two burnt guys the open eye seemed to be protective. However, it was also on the lighter so??? Now we have a cobweb on it... This could be good because we know that you can burn the worms and my personal theory is that the spider entities are the natural enemies of the worms but I'm just not sure.
These fear empowered entities are really being the opposite of subtle aren't they? You'd think....they want to get caught at this point. 300 years right? I wonder if someone is trying to speed up the timetable.
I really thought the name of the episode was Taken III, like... Taken 3, the film starring Liam Neeson. Can't lie I was very curious as to how they were going to make the plot of Taken 3 into a supernatural horror story.

what a pleasure to listen to, i cant wait untill i will be relistening and picking up all the foreshadowing and other details
Table?? As in Graham's table?? with the lighter, the table, and the pipes, does this mean that all the cases are for some reason coming to the archive?? why? and what's up with those delivery people? Are they good? bad? in the grey zone? my word. still so many questions...I love it :3
Before the ep started I read the title and thought it was "take iii", like 3? Spent a moment thinking i had missed an ep.
yall im majoring in English and clearly I am the brightest student to ever do so
"Based on the colour of those sections of skin still whole and unblemished, Mr. Miller couldn’t have been dead for more than a few hours, half a day at most. You wouldn’t have known, though. Large sections of his body were covered in a wet, creamy yellow rash, which… I’m not a doctor, so describing exactly what it did to the flesh it touched would serve no purpose except to start me having the nightmares again. Let us just say that it gave a plentiful home for the flies that swarmed around his body."
Hmmm, any relation to the strange yellow lesions in "The Man Upstairs"?
Lmao what if a skinwalker got a cadaver that was already infected???
i remember the table existing but i can’t for the life of me remember what happened with it
okay i know where it came from now
hm
dude. this is the most terrifying episode ive saw so far. the hole thing SPECIALLY the second call. send permanent shivers down my spine. tf is wrong with this episode that make me feel so sick?
I currently work in a nursing home experiencing a horrible covid outbreak, and "we've taken ill. We've passed away," is exactly how it feels. Just recovered from my own case of it, which only got me because I had salmonella poisoning, and it took that moment to jump me
Hope you're feeling better.
Hey wasn’t the table also the one from the episode about the guy who the one girl was watching from her window that ate pages from his notebooks and turned into someone else?
Yep
Across the street. Graham was the man
A capital i and a lowercase L have just a single pixel difference look. Il
I kind of want to stop listening to this podcast as much, since I'm beginning to feel uneasy, but I just can't escape. I NEED to know what's gonna happen next.
Guess I would be the kind who end up in a bad situation if I lived in this universe. Thankfully, I would be too much of a coward to take too much of a risk.
NOOOO NOT THE TABLE. BURN IT JOHN, BURN IT PLEASSSSE
THIS is one of the most awesome, chilling stories you have ever done! Forgive my saying so, but it seems to me that some of your older works are a bit better with the scare factor than many recent ones. That is not to be over critical, but you've set such a high bar that it is truly challenging to meet or exceed it.
I agree
Well, as you continue to listen to these sorts of stories, you kind of get used to them. I think they are about as good as they ever were.
I think that's for plot purposes. Like yeah, in the beginning they were setting up the plot too but then it focussed more on the fear factor. Then it slowly becomes more plot driven
Hannah is my name and so the voice talking about a Hannah caught me off guard
It’s my name too!
After the last episodes worm wiggling/squelching sounds in the back, i keep hearing them in this one where they (probably) arent there
Tim's voice reminds me of someone from Bee and Puppycat; it's always comforting when he starts talking in the middle of a horror podcast
Why the fuck do I keep trying to eat while I listen to these
Edit: oh christ I bit into my fajita as they described the corpse
John count is up to 7 babeeyy
Me wondering when Taken 1 and Taken 2 happened 👁👄👁💧❓
How wonderful that I'm listening to this as we clean the week after my aunt died
ok there it is. this one got me. the thought of death and bodies is ok because we try to process them as fast as possible but finding an oozing tainted dead body with the heat and the flies and the smell is very UGH.
Do I sense a romance between Martin & Jon....
i would but i also see it as more of jonathan kind of taking martin under his wing lowkey
but we’ll see lol
I know right, I ship them so hard AHAHAHAHA
wow look at me from two months ago
fuckin idiot you hardcore ship them now
I too do ship them
@@soaring-comet ohh how you grew
hannah's my deadname (i'm fine saying dw), so hearing it felt really odd and somehow made the story a whole bunch creepier
Well now I want to bump into mine just to see how different it'll make the episode feel from what it's supposed to feel like.
I heard mine in a previous episode I think. I'm sure I'll hear my real name at some point.
>tfw you actually HEAR the title in the video and realise that this is NOT a horror story revolving around Liam Neeson films.
>Mfw I see some 4channer unironically green texting in RUclips comments
>Pic not related.
This episode is giving me such The Mortuary Assistant vibes, which funnily enough is also abbreviated as TMA, just like The Magnus Archives
This , this is the one that gave me chills.
Another Jon! There are so many!
The ending where we found out what was delivered gets me so hype for the next episode XD
I thought the title was “Taken 3” at first glance and was expecting the episode to just be Jon talking about the Liam Neeson movies 😂
For my taste, There's an awful lot of housefires in TMA--- I feel like that implies something👀
When will I learn
When will I learn that eating during the Magnus Archives hAs CoNsEqUeNcEs
Poor people...
um a zippo? like the kind that was given to Angela in that episode where the dude kept getting body parts in little packages?
Me reading the title: "Ah yes, Taken 3..."
Jon: "Taken ill."
Me: ... That makes more sense...
I absolutely love this podcast
you dont know how terrified I was about the word ''tap'' and the ending really got to me
listening to this after working nursing homes during covid made me genuinely start crying. this hits very close to home
SPOILER FOR SEASON 5 ENDING
26:58 oh no the LIGHTER oh no no no no no
Coming back after all this time, this episode still really sticks with me. This one really messes me up.
As a former carer myself this episode sounds like it was concocted to be my own personal hell 🥲
Magnus virgin here. I’m wondering if she was becoming a host like Jane was but she hacked off her own hand to stop it? Or perhaps her father since he seemed to know more than he was letting on
MAGNUS VIRGIN 😭😭
I thought this was Taken 3 haha but I guess Taken ill is sick too
well since the first mention of flies I thought if it has something to do with Jane and it seems like it really has
"we've taken I'll we've passed away" ABSOLUTELY THE FUCK NOT
NOT GRAHAMS TABLE??????????? does that have anything to do with that micheal dude we met I wonder
The table was mentioned in may 3 btw
I was yelling, "Not the table!". Any normal person hearing that would think I'm insane. It's just a table...
The dude: Says the Disease, and ponders why he said it
Me, who has accidentaly seen too much of the Wiki:👀
After piecemeal I rlly thought I wasn't gonna keep listening to this bc it scared me too much (I'm a baby(but here I am anyway obviously))
So I just scrolled through the wiki a bunch and read a bunch of spoiler comments cuz I was still curious anyway and now I lowkey know what happens to everyone in the end and some of what happens in the middle 😒😒😒
also I think Josh was the name of a boyfriend in Strange music
is it the same Josh or a different one? 🤔
think it's different but idk
The name Bertrand Miller also sounds familiar
Oh. My. Gosh. Are the ashes contagious too?! Did the uncle just throw them into a trash can to intermingle with the environment?
the vacation from non-existing is a nice way to view it. perhaps im selfish but i view it like this: im my entire existance, i will never be outside of my body, im my entire world. when i was born, my world started existing, and when i die, my world will stop existing. i dont care how people go on without me, as far as im concerned nothing past my death is real
Did anyone else think this was going to be an exciting Liam Neeson franchise sequel?
It's sad a senior place was targeted, especially a place that used to be so happy.
A lighter with a spiderweb design? That sounds important.
