I saw Elizabeth in person 3 times, the first time in 1961, when I first came to Los Angeles. She was with Eddie Fisher at the time and was thin and petite. Pictures don't do her justice. In person the coloring was amazing. Her eyes were the color of violets and her skin was like cream with rose hues. The face looked as if someone had sculpted it. Unfortunately, she didn't take care of herself as she should. She certainly was an exciting lady.

When Elizabeth and her husband Richard Burton lived in London in the early 70s my Dad met them in a pub one day in Hampstead (a VERY wealthy part of London). My Dad and his friends had a drink with Liz and Richard and they had a great time. My Dad said that they were both so charming and down to earth.....he said that Liz was making them laugh with her naughty jokes lol! My mum (who was a HUGE fan of Elizabeth) asked my Dad the obvious question: "Are her eyes REALLY violet?" My Dad said that yes....Elizabeth's eyes were the most beautiful shade of pale purple.
And on top of that I was at a club in the city I met Tyrese if I don't even know who he is and I got to rub his stomach and hang out with him so go have it yourself

I never admired her beauty more than when I saw a closeup profile with her scalp completely bald. It had been shaved for a surgery. That mass of black hair is not unattractive but it distracts from her features and often hides her ears. Her particular coloring with such dark hair and blue-tinted eyes is a rare and singularly beautiful combination. I would call the color of her eyes hazel. I’ve seen blue-hazel eyes that change color and reflect the colors of the surroundings and clothing. And I’ve seen what I call brown-hazel eyes that are a sort of muddy green like creek water. Brown-hazel eyes change color similarly to the way blue-hazel eyes do, but the effect doesn’t seem to be quite as dramatic. I think she had a very rare eye colour, which depending on the lighting, or what she was wearing, could change from, blue, to purple, or navy, then gray, and sometimes they seemed truly green. She needed very little eye makeup. I think why her face was, and still, is regarded as one of the most beautiful, in the world, is because of her almost perfect facial symmetry. Something about "the golden ratio,"from what I've heard.

As a young woman, I had (almost) black hair, extremely pale skin and very blue eyes. It's actually quite common in Ireland, where my family are from. My sister has amber eyes - they are absolutely mesmerising!

It's a myth that the Irish, mostly have, red hair and green eyes, though from what I've read the Irish do have a higher population of people with red hair than most other countries, apart from some Scandinavian countries where red hair is also quite prominent.
But the celts had dark hair, but I think the red hair became more prominent after the Vikings invaded Ireland.

Elizabeth was a stunning beauty. Beautiful features, with a sweetness to her face. Same with Vivien Leigh. Beautiful with a sweet quality. Others, such as Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly were beautiful, but a cool type of beauty. They did not have the "magic" of the other two. As for the eyes. Anyone with blue eyes know they change with the lighting or with what you are wearing. I would have loved to have met Liz in person.

I never admired her beauty more than when I saw a closeup profile with her scalp completely bald. It had been shaved for a surgery. That mass of black hair is not unattractive but it distracts from her features and often hides her ears. The curve of her skull, the shape of her ears, the set of her head upon her neck are just as pleasing to the eye as her other features. She truly was an astonishing beauty.
