Thank you! This video make it super simple to remove this code! Once the clip is unlocked, use long nose pliers to gently press down on the end of the clip and pull them out. For the back solenoid, we removed the air handling hose just above it to make it a bit easier. Overall, saved me hundreds! Thanks again!

Thanks for watching, great question! Since our Solenoid failed & sent error code to the onboard computer, it then illuminated the Check Engine Light.
At this point, the illuminated Check Engine Light deactivates our onboard remote starter...Bummer.
In order to get our remote starter to work again, we needed to replace Solenoid.
After replacing the solenoid and starting the engine, The new solenoid sent an electrical communication link to the onboard computer which allowed the onboard computer to recognize the new solenoid...which then allowed the onboard computer to turn off the check engine light.
At this point the remote starter was now reactivated for normal use.
We hope this helps. Below is a link to video explaining more.

My 2006 Chevy Impala is stalling, dying while I'm driving and it jerks when I accelerate speed. I replaced the 02 sensors, (upstream and downstream) crankshaft and camshaft position sensors, motor mounts, and mass air flow housing and my car is still stalling on me. Thanks for watching & sharing your experience Christina, let’s get this figured out!
Let’s start with the simple friendly inexpensive options.
      1. Air Filter: A dirty/clogged Air Filter can cause your exact symptoms. A new Filter will help increase engine performance.
      2. Spark Plugs & Wires: It’s very important to replace Spark Plugs & Wires every 2-3 years. Worn out Wires & damaged Plugs will cause a significant loss of engine performance. We recommend replacing your Plugs & Wires...& make sure you purchase the right Plugs.

Thanks for the reply, is your Check Engine Light illuminated by chance?
If yes then we recommend visiting your local AutoZone and having them hook up the OBD scanner. They will then be able to show you what exact error codes are causing your engine light which in return will lead us directly to the part that needs to be replaced.

What year is your Malibu? What spark plugs did you purchase? Also when you replaced spark plugs, did you apply the dielectric grease to your plug connections?... maybe too much dielectric grease was added...
We have done this in the past when replacing spark plugs... we accidentally added way too much dielectric grease to the plugs ....😲...and once we inserted and secured the wires onto the new plugs... The engine ran worse than it did with the old dirty worn out plugs.
So we took off the wires and cleaned off all the dielectric grease and then re-secured the wires to the plugs & the engine has run great for two years.

I’m having the same problem removing the connector. The latch slides back easily but the connector doesn’t come off. Watching the video, it seems there’s some sort of tab on the solenoid that has to be cleared, so I’m guessing you have to push on something to clear that tab, but I’m not seeing anything. If anyone knows, please pass along. Thanks!

However since you’re replacing one, you can only benefit from replacing both at the same time since you’re taking a few parts off to gain access to faulty Solenoid. 😀

AutoZone is the Best. We love AutoZone. If you drive your car up to AutoZone, they will hook their scanner up to your car & see what code it obtains. They will then have a good guidance on which part to replace! IDE try that first. Let us know what AutoZone says. 😎👍🔧🔩

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Thank you SO MUCH for the super-speedy response! I greatly appreciate it! Actually, I have a 2013 Dodge Dart that just gave the P0013 code, took a trip to the AutoZone and they found that it is the Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit / Open (Bank 1). I spoke to them this morning and an engine variable timing solenoid would do the trick, then I found your video which seems to support it.. however, I was also told by a friend that it would be camshaft position scanner... for the sake of being thorough, I odered both, but at the moment, this car is so new to me, I can't even figure out how to get the engine cover off to even [get] to the engine and I've worked on engines for other cars no problem. So here we go guys. Had my 2012 Chevy Malibu lt for 5 Plus years. Got my car back fall 2016 from my uncle. it was in the shop for almost a year while after a freak accident late 2015. From that time on guys. New fuel pump, air filter, brakes, tires, battery alternator starter still solid, the fuse box got realigned, camshafts solenoids replaced myself Christmas 2016( both of them) and the position sensor as of recent day. Fast forward now 2018, cranking my car it doesn't even start. Scanned the car the same code appears p0013, Got it jumped multiple times doesn't even cut on now. What could it be?

Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your experience. Let’s get this figured out! 😀
A few things come to mind.
      1. As you know, your engine requires 3 things in order to start & continue to run efficiently!
      1. Fuel
      2. Spark
      3. Air
Since you have a new starter Installed & it’s at least cranking & attempting to start, it’s possible that your starter is not getting the assistance from one of those three items.
In most cases, it’s the fuel delivery. It’s possible that fuel is not making it to the cylinders to be ignited by the plugs. It can be clogged injectors or clogged fuel filter. Or your fuel pump has failed...& not sending fuel to engine.
It’s also important to check all of your spark plugs and coil’s to verify that they are not burning nor do they have oil on them. If you find this to be the case, we can walk you through the required steps to get that fixed.
Let’s also focus on your electrical connections & wiring as well. We recommend doing a thorough inspection of all wiring & electrical connection points that feed to the parts that have been replaced. It’s possible that your electrical connection point came loose from a part...unlikely...however we can’t rule it out.
Let’s start there! Keep us posted! Please subscribe to the channel and turn on your RUclips notification Bell that would be awesome thanks again! 😎👍🔧🔩

I have a question I replaced both of my solenoids once and the car continued stalling but there was no check engine light so I thought that maybe the parts were bad so I went and exchange them for two new ones and the car is still doing the same thing what could be the issue? Thank you

Thanks for watching & sharing your comment. Let’s get this figured out together!
As you know, your engine requires 3 things to run.
      1. Spark
      2. Fuel
      3. Air
Spark: In the event that your spark plugs have not been changed in a few years it may be a good idea to replace your spark plugs and wires. As the spark plugs age and gather corrosion over the years, the efficient spark will degrade and may cause degraded engine performance.
      2. Fuel: At any point your fuel delivery is interfered with or clogged, your engine will experience several issues. It’s possible that you may need to run some fuel system cleaner through your system and hopefully loosen up any gathered gunk on your injectors or inside your fuel pump that is ultimately interfering with your fuel delivery.
      3. Air: One of the more commonly forgotten about parts in your engine is your air filter. Your air filter is very important and over the years your air filter can get to a point where it is so clogged that it is constantly causing degraded engine performance and sometimes leading you to think it something else when it’s really as simple as the air filter.
Let’s start there. Keep us posted!

Nice job! it's Jan.3, 2021 I just did the Exhaust Solenoid { the front one] on my 2014 2.5 Malibu. and I did the Evap Purge Valve that sits just behind the Intake solenoid valve.. HAD Code P0455 [CPV] and a code P0014, so hopefully this fix's it! that 2013 you have has better Electrical conn's on it than the 2014. " Come on GM" why do they do such a crappy job on that stuff ? And the eco start stop function is A piece of Crap ! why did they ever do that? More electronics to go Wrong !!!! I think the Solenoid valves have something to with it. the code reader, reads P0014 and it is Bank 2, cam shaft positioning is Advanced.

Thanks for watching & sharing your question. The P0011 error code is tied to your Solenoid & depending on whether you get the (A) or (B) reference will lead you to which Solenoid to replace.
With our specific make, model, & year....the (A) reference is the Intake Solenoid & the (B) reference is the Exhaust Solenoid.
Replacing them both at the same time isn’t a bad idea either. 😀

Thanks for the replay i have code p0011 and my mechanic said it has to do with oil pressure or bad quality oil does it make sense?does the solenoid problem its common for chevrolet malibu 2013? My car drove only 56000 kilometres a bit too soon?

Thanks for the reply & unfortunately this is an extremely common issue with Chevy engines lately. It’s possible that the oil grade caused your error code.
This engine requires Synthetic Oil & if Synthetic Oil is drained & Conventional Oil is added, it may trip the sensor as it is noticing a downgrade in required oil.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted!

Great question. Same part however may be I’d different location on engine. We recommend purchasing part from Dealership. Did your code say Intake Solenoid or did it say Exhaust Solenoid?
Make sure you purchase correct Solenoid! 😎👍

There should be second page code on the scanner that will indicate if it’s Intake or Exhaust.
