Finishing has got to be the hardest part of this. Especially if you want it perfect. I'd probably just go the lazy way and take a paint roller to it and some spray can poly.
Actually on a guitar kit like this it’s really not that difficult, it depends whether you want to actually paint the guitar or stain it, they have so many products today that make it so easy. Let me know what you wanna do and I will walk you through it.
Thank you so much for commenting, yes, I was blown away by the price as I probably said 10 times ha ha, but this really is impressive and if you don’t have one and you have a need for a very low priced project, I would recommend it all day long. It has so many possibilities. I love modding non-brand guitars so something like this is a dream, somebody that is learning how to make guitars or do guitar repair work, something like this is absolutely perfect to practice on. Then you fix it up and play it. It’s kind of a win-win thank you for watching.
That sounds like a very interesting and great idea, I like the concept of dark red with yellow. Thank you for your feedback. Maybe I will paint this one red with some yellow accents?
Yes…. That’s the way to do it. Send some pics when you’re done, I can’t wait to see it. It will look awesome, at the very end, try some fine auto polish and lightly buff for the shine that really stands out.
I think it’s a great kit, it’s fun, very simple and a great experience for you. After your done you can put your name or whatever you want on the headstock
Yes, it is a telecaster style in shape and looks. Naturally, it does not follow the pattern of the older single coil pups or with the trem system on a Stratocaster since 1954, but that body design is definitely a telecaster style. Thank you so much for bringing that up, I don’t think the kit maker was trying to copy the telecasters of the 50s-80s but of the newer generation that have Humbuckers, and a Tremelo system are part of the new style of some of these models. I personally love the old ones but I still think that the cost on a guitar kit that is this nice for under $100 is unbelievably great. I think most people can at least afford one or save towards it. Thank you so much for your comment.
@greyowl9295 I looked at those and they look very nice. I would like to know more about the materials they use for the kits, I’m sure they are very nice. When you’re done send a picture. Way to go, you’re going to build your own! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼, I like that way of thinking.
A GFS Crunchy Pat in the Bridge would sound Awesome !!!
