I've been to Watamu thrice, it's a paradise as the locals said , white sandy beaches, snake parks , dolphin watching etcétera. I really miss this place
In 2004 I stayed at the beach front Villas, which was then a resort owned by The African Safari Club, German & Swiss owners I was told. Amazing place, though unfortunately didn't treat their (local) staff with respect. Eg. The huge restaurant which was simply out of this world in catering for the tourists & all buffet style, all leftovers had to be disposed of as trash, yet the local chefs & waiters would have loved them to take home. It simply wasn't allowed & their bags were checked by guards on leaving the resort each day. It was sole destroying to hear. They earned the equivalent of $20 per month working 6 days per week. African Safari Club went out of business some years later, I don't know the reason why. Thanks for sharing this video Gabi, it brought back some great memories. There's a great animal sanctuary with the deadliest killer Aligators in Bamburi to visit, plus an amazing child orphanage on the Bamburi road towards Mombasa. Oh & the never ending mangroves along the Mida Creek esturie. Enjoy, what a place.
Personally as a person from south coast Im in awe of watamu and the north beaches but trust me come down south and im not speaking of diani and co but in prestine places not accessible to most tourist but to us the locals Digo pple and everyone is welcomed one such place is kiteje and tiwi where the river congo meets the mighty Indian ocean
Such a wonderful video, full of beauty and love. This beach is amazing! And so happy Charles got mattress and chairs! Gabi, your videos are such a gem. Thank you!
Waw..... what a wonderful beach. I am so happy to see Charles improvements. Thank God send an angle called Gabi to help Charles and his family. Be blessed Gabi.
Watamu was the best place i ever visited. I was staying at the next resort called turtle bay resort. That place i can agree to say its very beautiful place. Thank you very much for showing me and remembering how it was. ❤️
So much love for you guys!! Algorithm still being unfair, same as the state of the wider world.. Please don't loose hope or your JOY!! You are so important! Beautiful video friend 🧡
It’s crazy as Albanian I’m very amazed with those white beaches they’re big opportunity to invest big resorts or villa resorts on water like Bora Bora, you know and build like a town for 20 to 30,000 people all tourist town make a good airport good stores for food, restaurants, and make direct flights from Europe from me to least to this areas very interesting It’s very sad whole couple people from Europe purchased the whole beach, which is too much and not fair
every place in the world where european tourists go, the locals pick up the language for trade, be it german, italian, russian, french, portuguese, spanish etc. This is a world wide phenomena especially in africa where languages are a breeze for locals. Russians are new arrivals in Tanzania due to covid and now you find locals speaking Russian in Zanzibar.
Nice beach.. Good that you helping the needy.. But suggest to keep you vlogs as travel only and not for donations.. Sometimes you might end up in wrong place.
I love your Diani video. I went to Diani a year ago and loved it so much that I returned two more times and ended up investing on a plot to build a house in the future. Can I point out though that the beach boys are letting this amazing beach down, not all of them are conmen but I paid someone to reserve a boat and they never showed up. We need authorities to crack down on the crooks and licence the good ones. On the other hand, I feel the good beach boys/men should organise themselves and create a clean business environment eradicating the crooks. Otherwise best beach in Africa.
@@ridewithgabi Wow-reasonable indeed, that place in a resort next door in Ethiopia would easily cost USD $200+ per night. BTW is that price per person or per flat ? Cheers
illegal rock harvesters have invaded watamu especially Jacaranda beach. They are quarrying even under the new Watamu-Malindi tarmac road and behind Jacaranda Beach Hotel under the safaricom masts. They leave big gaping quarries in unsuspecting people's plots and are quickly spoiling the beauty of the place.
Mille Grazie Gabi for your amazing videos and generous helping, Please have you got contact with Salim-I text ,email.but no answer- ? ( I am visiting Nairobi in 3 month and need him as a guide) .Multo Grazie

The beaches are so beautiful in Watamu! It was interesting to hear them speaking to you in Italian! Such wonderful and friendly people! ❤

Sounds great, but couldn't patronise a place that wont's give their own staff basic respect
Sir Gabi I'm watching every travel vlog you have! God bless you for your kindness and sincerity to all people you encounter. Enjoy every journey!
Sadly, most Kenyans don't even rate Watamu, preferring Diani and Lamu. Personally, Watamu remains my favourite of Kenyan beaches.

Exactly
Foreginers can't own land in Kenya, only rent it for up to 99 years.
Be careful in Kenya brother, especially in Nairobi. It is not safe at all, I speak from experience. Take care.

Stop spreading fear and propaganda
Being a Kenyan in Kenya or being a foreigner is different. Maybe it's safe for Kenyan (although I doubt it) but definitely not safe for foreigners.
The should really call this place Beggars Paradise, everywhere you go is beggars, in the shops, on the beach, Don't go it's a dump.
