If all your friends are in relationships and having sex, and you're the only not having sex and single, you'll be the odd one out, and they'll feel judged by you. You naturally become the last person they gravitate towards. That's true of friendships right through highschool to your twenties.
Celibacy is wonderful if that's what you choose but in general people should hold off sex while dating so you can maintain a clean mind, get rid of the sex thirsty scumbags and build a solid foundation for a fruitful relationship.
Some people like sex just for the pleasure of it you just have to let them know you're not that person you're looking to be monogamous and that's fine

As Garcelle said, it’s not that there are a lot of people choosing to not have sex, it’s that their circumstances haven’t really allowed them to or given them the opportunity to have sex. Cause most ppl are not just gonna do it with anyone anywhere

For those that are believers of Jesus Christ it is sinning against your own body when you have sex out of marriage which is called fornicating. Also in the Bible when a man and a woman have sex they become ONE and God doesn't see them separately which is why marriage is sacred and holy before God between a man and a woman. Even though you stated that you are in a healthy relationship it actually isn't healthy because based on your comment the foundation of your relationship is sex not love. Of course it appears to be healthy but the foundation is not strong because sex doesn't keep two people committed if so there wouldn't be so many dysfunctional relationships and people going from one relationship to another and they are having sex.

Celibacy is a wonderful thing. I'm eight years in by choice. My focus is on raising my children and learning to invest in our future. I was married for twelve years, not interested in doing that again anytime soon. Plus my house is so peaceful plus focusing on self love and care, also a deep and meaningful relationship with my little tribe.

I’ve been celibate since 2007 and it sucks!! It’s voluntary because picking’s are slim out here! And it’s not that the opportunity didn’t present itself…it’s I’m extremely picky about who I’ll be intimate with and that won’t change. I prefer to be in a monogamous relationship and unfortunately that’s not easy to find!

Yes and no. I was raised in a strict household that prevents me from sleeping around but at the same time even if I lived alone I would choose to save myself for a relationship regardless. Hookups never interested me seems like a waste of time

Yeah, I fell off from watching the Real a long time ago... But, I recently saw a clip that I enjoyed and so I watched the next clip...and then the next...and then the next! It’s true, sex is not automatically this magical, mind blowing, earth shattering thing. It CAN be but I feel like it’s WAY too hyped up sometimes and if I’m being honest…. I truly believe a lot of people lie about their experiences with it just because of how our society views it. But I digress.
I don’t like the whole “you haven’t found the right partner” narrative. It’s not that simple. There are many reasons why a person would have difficulties in that situation whether it’s a physical issue or an emotional one.
Also I actually think you’ll have a better shot at a serious relationship (if you want that) if you’re not depending on the other person for that particular thing. It helps you see things more clearly and when you feel ready to dive in with someone you trust it will be way better and/or you’ll be more willing to work on it together.

They had me weakkk.. on some parts but yes i also was celibate for a while.. i learned so much about myself as a woman and also learned how it 100% can cloud your judgement.. some people know you maybe vulnerable or grieving and they come and use certain things and bam you in a whole relationship you never wanted to be in.. so i am very careful in my space.. and i definitely had to masturbate lol..but i don't regret it.. it taught me who deserved to be in my life and who didn't.. i had some amazing people wait for me and respect me more because of it.. but i won't deny it was sooo hard to do.. you definitely have to have a level of self control.. because honestly take sex away for a sec.. what do you really have with that person? Ya'll Garcelle saying being celibate for her is involuntary because she has had sex in pervious relationship. She has to option of waiting to meet a man meets her requirements in a relationship before sleeping with him or have sex with someone just to fix her needs. She choice waiting verses instinct gratification, but that does mean she happy not having sex.
It's not a dig at people that are choosing to wait till marriage or are Asexual. I know because I'm in the same boat as Garcelle I've been celibate for almost 3 years and there are days when it hard to deal with. I sure people that are virgins have those urges too, but when you have experienced the joys of sex and have discipline yourself from it it's not easy. It's like not knowing the next time you will have your favorite meal when you are craving it now.

@@natinatyoutube I'm a Muslim, and believe in sexual relations within the confines of marriage. Never felt peer pressured to "do the deed" because when you believe in a principle larger than yourself, you make the sacrifices to stand by those values. And that goes for most things in life.

Celibacy is abstaining from sex, until marriage...so it would have to be voluntarily.
Abstinance does is different ecause it does not necessarily include the consideration of marriage.

It’s not celibacy. It’s abstinence. Celibacy is part of the vow that nuns and monks make to remain unmarried as well. Abstinence involves not having sex until marriage or until a certain time.
