I read Vagabonds! this April and absolutely adored it. It draws such a dynamic and vibrant portrait of Lagos, and the comparison to Akwaeke Emezi is one that occurred to me as well while reading (definitely deserved given the richness of the prose). So happy to see someone hyping this up, especially as eloquently as you've done here. I can't wait to see what Eloghosa Osunde does next!
osunde’s imagination is an amazing thing to see on display in vagabonds. i read it twice just to absorb all the stories again. before finishing it i knew it was going to be a book that deserved all the praise😁
can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you get to reading it😁i don’t usually endorse audiobooks over reading it physically if there’s a choice, but i just think the narrators did an excellent job.
I keep hearing the word 'vagabond' as I have a lot of my Jamaican elders around so I clicked straight away. The book sounds good, I will have to add it to my list. There are a lot of powerful books coming from Nigerian influence, they're really doing the community proud!
recent nigerian literature has been amazing! there’s much creativity imbued in the stories coming from nigerian authors, i love it. and vagabonds is not the exception👏🏾😁
Oooh, I read this one a couple months ago. Vagabonds! really felt like both a critique and a love letter to Lagos, specifically the queer community of Lagos. I really enjoyed your review and I'm glad you loved the book!
thank you! and yes, i love how you worded that “a critique and a love letter”. it feels like osunde was constantly balancing the dark and light of lagos and it was so compelling to read.

Vagabonds! was already on my radar but you just shot it to the TOP of my TBR - definitely going to listen to the audiobook!
yay! i’m happy to hear that. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did😊
I’m convinced. And glad to know you think the audiobook works so well as I wasn’t sure to read a physical copy or listen to it.
