Donna Summer is an artist who has her distinct sound and beautiful voice that no one else can mimic much like Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin etc. When you hear her voice you immediately know that’s Donna Summer. Excited to learn more about her through this documentary she left an amazing legacy through her art and her daughter’s are gorgeous just as she was.
Actually, Donna always reminded me of Martha Reeves..That said- I'm glad that Donna is getting the recognition she very well deserves, even if it is belated. She was the absolute Queen of Disco, and should be honored as such.
...being a 62 Year Old Man....I'm floored....FLOORED! ...to see Donna's Daughter's THIS grown up, especially Mimi...who I saw when she was SIX, during the "Live & More" Tour in 1978! ...Ay, yi- YI, I'm Old.....
I was at Bergdorf Goodman visiting a former coworker and she indicated that Donna Summer was behind me. I whipped around and sure enough, Donna Summer walked past us, she smiled and said "hi"! I said "hi" and l think l broke my face smiling I was so freakin' excited! The only perk of working in a high end store like Bergdorfs was all the celebrity sightings and this was one of my favorites!
Breathtaking daughters. They honour their beautiful Mother who was one of the greatest singers and vocalist of all time. I’m 55 and I grew up as a child singing to her records when I was 7-11 years old. As an older person now I enjoy listening to her earliest concerts in Europe. I’ve been exposed to a new world of Donna. She was always great. A superstar. Her daughters make me very proud. I love that they love each other and support each other. That’s all Donna would have wanted. Her family was everything. 🩵🌳🌸🩵
I absolutely LOVED Donna Summer! When she passed away I was very saddened. She was/is in my Top 20 favorite artists of all time. Donna was amazing! And her daughters are beautiful.
I love Donna Summer, a very under appreciated talent, I put her right at the top of all time female singers not below anyone but as good as anyone who has done it, nobody has done it better. Their mom is a top player in my soundtrack of life.
I am 61 years old and I still listen to Donna's music. As technology changed, I have her beautiful voice in many formats but I have kept all the original LP's & still listen to them on my turntable. Her songs bring back many memories for me; especially my teenage years at the height of disco.
Yes! Thank you! Not to diss it at all, it was my time, but finding other tracks- what an amazing talent. Call it what you want, "God given" or whatever, I'm in awe.
The documentary was so well made and showed me a side of Donna I never knew. Such a powerful voice and loved her story telling and theatrics on stage while she performed!! ❤❤❤
Love the Queen Donna Summer, I was 7 or 9 years old when I started listening to her on the radio, and I don't know, ever since that age I knew there was something different about her, something that just super star can have, Magic. Thank you, Mimi, Amanda, and Brooklyn. I am happy and proud of how you girls turned out to be, on top of everything else you are beautiful, just like your Mom.
I didn't realize that Brooklyn was Donna Summer's daughter until after Donna passed away. I loved Brooklyn in My Wife & Kids as Juniors girlfriend then Wife. Beautiful Women all.
In the renaissance album, it was not the 1st time Beyoncé sampled Donna Summer. Beyoncé had already done that on her debut album Dangerously in love. It's on the hit single " Nauthy girl"
What a blessing to see Donna Summer's 3 beautiful daughters! I remember when Mimi was born. She had her on stage with her! Time sure flies and waits for no one! Can't wait to see the "Queen Of Disco" from back in the day movie! ⭐️🎬🎙🎬⭐️
My dad grew up with her and her family as they lived next door to each other and I have always loved her and her singing rip Donna I love you forever ❤❤❤❤ We all miss you sooooo much!!😢😢😢😢
We love Donna Summers! Her daughters are absolutely stunning. I just went to an outdoor fashion show this weekend and they were playing her songs and people could not sit still. Everyone was dancing their butts off including me. This is what her music does to you. It reaches into to you, grab your soul and shake it. Her music was a great part of my childhood. R.I.P Disco Queen and legend.
One of if not the most criminally underrated singers/game changers! Waay more than just a 'queen of Disco' which in itself is a massive feat (to own an entire genre). She was rock, r&b, gospel etc...Plus, a lovely, humble CLASS act day 1-last day. Absolutely had that unique, instant iconic IT vocal factor like Aretha, Whitney, Tina, Barbra and very small select few others. Yes, had massive fame and awards but her LEGACY and 'what' she did to change the map w/ dance, EDM music etc...I feel she still lacks the props by the GP. Nothing (both in the clubs or radio) previously sounded like *anything she pumped out as singles or albums! I Feel Love is nearly 50 years old and an absolute masterpiece. Still fresh ah, jaw dropping with constant replay value!
I was a very young girl when the Beautiful and Talented Ms. Donna Summer was making hit records. I was definitely a FAN. I miss her. I cried when I heard that she transitioned on the news. I still play her 🎶 Music. May she continue to rest in Heavenly Peace.
I knew I have seen her daughter Brooklyn somewhere before and she was an actress in the series Cruel Summer among other shows! Her mother Donna Summer was a beautiful singer!!!
Beautiful daughters! I was born in 1980 but i heard a lot of Donna Summer's music growing up. My dad called her the queen of disco amd her music made you feel alive! ❤❤❤
I LOVED Donna Summer as so many of us. SO glad I got to see her live and her newer shows to ..She was AMAZING ;] This is a wonderful project her daughters are doing ;]
Love to love Donna Summer. Her music gets you up on your feet dancing and feeling great. What a voice. Gone too soon but never forgotten. You girls are an extension of her and you’re all beautiful individuals. I was so blessed to see Donna live. What a power house. Couldn’t keep my eyes off off her and couldn’t sit still. The whole place was rockin. Thank you Donna Summer for amazing music I still listen to on my iPhone. RIP.
I loved the documentary, but it was not long enough! The at-home videos warmed my heart -what a nice way to have fans get a glimpse of her personal life.
Donna's daughters are so beautiful and were all blessed to have loved their mama true self. It'll be hard for them to picture the fantasy of the Goddess image that was created for her, and the impact her music made in the 70's culture. Donna was truly a gifted artist with an unique and amazing voice, and she'll live forever in our harts as a Superstar!!!!💜🙏🏻🧘🏽♂
I was so moved by this documentary and learning more about Donna, I couldn't believe she sang ALL those songs! I feel so naive, that I didn't know all those songs belonged to her. It really blew me away, she was part of the fabric of my childhood. Her voice contains such a particular kind of power and beauty. Learning more about her was amazing. Highly recommend this doc!
Her daughters are beautiful❤❤ The documentary was beautiful but i do want a "donna summer" movie, it's loooong overdue❤ Please do a movie about THE QUEEN OF EVERYTHING, THE 1 AND ONLY MS. DONNA SUMMER❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
An artist like Donna Summer comes once in a lifetime. I met her a few times over the years when she lived in LA. She was so beautiful, funny and gracious. Her daughters are so stunning and confident level headed women like their amazing mother. Donna was taken from us too early. She had so much more to give us.
I was a teenager when she put out her album On The Radio. I loved her. I first seen her in the movie Thank God it's Friday. She was so beautiful. Was one of my idols. You girls lucky to had a mom like her. ❤❤

I love ❤️ Donna Summer. My father bought home the album Love To Love You Baby, and I memorized every lyric & and songs that were on the LP. I had the opportunity to sing On The Radio in my school's talent show and came in second place. Her determination to make things happen is what bought me here where I am now.
Thanks for sharing the story of the amazing beautiful Disco Queen Ms. Donna Summer. Her music was during the best era of the greatest artist. She is one of the many legends in the 70s and 80s. ❤❤❤

Donna, Olivia and Barbra were the voices of my generation.
I have to agree. Both Donna Summer and Olivia Newton John are no longer here. Barbara Striesand is left. 😔
Also Diana :) She and Donna were good friends.
Don't forget Karen,Linda, and Carly (amongst many others)
I always say they are "the vocal holy trinity of the 70s". Love them so much.

the daughters dress glamourously like their mother. Her voice defies description for me, it was very special.
My goodness she was a goddess with such a distinctively amazing talent and voice someone needs to play her in a movie
