I remember the day when the record Tales exit on sale in 73 . the moment i put on my stereo and play in religious silence. It was a great revelation something never heard before thanks to these 5 incredibile musicians. Jon Steve Alan Chris Rick. I" l be ever grateful for this. Yes ! Forever and ever in my heart every minute from 1971.
This album by decision of Jon should have been recorded in the wood to ambientate it for a natural/oriental atmosphere on which Tales was inspired, but operation was considered too expensive so that a part of a wood was reproduced in the recording studio, included a shower in which Jon sang some parts cause he assumed was perfect sound. After the mixing and master was ready, in the day Yes should carry the master to record , forget the entire work and tracks of 6 months work on a roof of the car, when car started , the master falled down on the street meanwhile a City Bus was coming and risk to destroy the entire work, jon run out from the car and stop the bus facing it before was too late. Tales From Topographic Oceans...WAS SAVE!...and Jon too: ))..YES JON WAS BAND LEADER...SHOULD I ANSWER ALSO IF STILL IS ?
I didn't want to post a standalone negative comment, but this video made me feel real sorrow for what the "band" had become. I saw Yes in 2001 on their Symphonic tour performing this song with the original members and Jon Anderson. A few months ago I saw Jon and the Band Geeks locally - and it was glorious - it was the Yes I remember in every way. The place was filled with long time Yes fans and every one said the same thing - Jon's blending with talented younger musicians kept the music alive. Not this.
While i am very against chopping Tales into a mainly vocal/chorus oriented medley, what they played during the medley, they played well. thanks for posting this.
Why Howe continues to parade out this pale copy of YES is beyond me - it’s about control and ego. I refuse to believe he doesn’t hear how weak they sound. Saw Jon Anderson and his band 9/19/24 in New York phenomenal-They are the owners of YES music- this is painful.
Wouldn't be so bad if they could have played one track from tales in its entirety; but that can't happen with Downs on keyboards. Sad, very very sad. If they had that Russian guy, Igor, might have been able to pull it off
Downs should be playing in a garage band, he might be respected by the other members. No, I take that back, they would probably be looking for a new keyboard player.
Two comments: 1 The abridged version of The Revealing Science allowed Geoff to skip the tricky keyboard solo which, frankly, he’s not up to. 2 It was good to see The Remembering (or parts thereof) live. Hats off to them for that.
I would be embarrassed of I played that badly on keyboards. Downs is no where near the genious of Wakeman or Moraz. One tour they had a Russian guy, Igor, who in my opinion is capable of playing; Downs doesn't come close. I could do better.
OMG! This is just horrible! The drummer is a mis-match for this group. Steve is sloppy and can't play the fast passages anymore. Billy often sings out of tune. Geoff is .......well. John is a good singer really trying hard. I do LOVE Yes and have seen them 48 times. But, I can't bare to see this bad cover band. Band Geeks with Jon is amazing!!
Geoff Downs is not a very good keyboard player. Sometimes he doesn't even play the right notes. I saw the real yes 27 times and Wakeman was always flawless. I can deal with Bruford or White. No Squire, no Anderson , no Wakeman no Howe no yes
I liked this the more it went on, the early sections seemed to chop and change too abruptly and miss out some iconic moments (“moments!”). I thought it needed the big end to Ritual to end it in style, but good to see it though as I missed the live performances.
At least they are singing "What happened to this song we once knew so well." Sorry but it should be played live as recorded, not this butchered version.
Thank you for the excellent camera work and sound quality. Topographic Oceans is Steve Howe's masterpiece of guitar composing.

Me too. My brother and I waited in line in the hot, humid Houston sun at the record store. Amazing time
Where is Jon here ?

I keep trying to give these guys a chance and I just can’t get into it.
It's hard but this is not bad

The Revealing Reality That Steve Has Destroyed The Legacy Of Godlike Yes Music
Next year "Yes" will be on tour with no original members unless you count the guy who drove the tour bus in 1978.
Je pense la même chose.
There's no original member. Steve joint after the 2 first albums.
Ya. I'm a big fan but there is a point. No Chris, no Jon, no Yes.
pathetic
Jon and the Band Geeks are the real holders of the Yes catalog
As a music major in college I did a chordal analysis of Tales. My stuffy old professor loved it!
thank you
My favorite Yes album!
Yes......grande
@@k-2-l8o NO! There is not JON ! JON IS Yes !

Ancient

Steve Howe and Geoff Downes, December 6 1983 Asia in Asia...
So this is what Yes has become. This medley is an ode to constant interrupted sex

@@gregoryschleitwiler9601 Exactly!!
It’s a good sampling - I can dig into the songs individually -at a later time.
Terrible. I’ve seen Yes 37 times.. this is not Yes.. Band Geeks are better..

@@gregoryschleitwiler9601 I think Tom Brislin could do it too!
@@rorm133 I saw Yes live with Tom Brislin way back in 2000... that guy is incredible!
Steve gets pissed off with the lighting man a few times!!
A pretty good Yes cover band
I thought it was not so good on the vocals. Sorry steve
Beautiful Music.....Steve needs to get back with Jon and Rick.....On another note, The Police should think about satisfying the people again as well.
Steve does not need to get back together with his exes.
Fuck da police
Jon Anderson scored with The Band Geeks and Rick Wakeman has retired from touring. Sad to say but, the dream is over.
The original and glorius introduction is cutted…😢

Stop this drama ! This band is not YES ! 😢 Poor Steve ! He is alone. 😮
Drama is very good album too.

No. Vidéo kill the radio star !
What a shame! It's not yes ! JON IS Yes ! Yes, Steve is alone !

Thoroughly enjoyed this medley of my favourite album. Steve Howe is still the very best.
Yes

So nice. I think Tales should have been just two sides instead of four. Lots of wonderful material but too much filler.
At least they are singing "What happened to this song we once knew so well."
Sorry but it should be played live as recorded, not this butchered version.
Slappe hap...
Yes cover band.
😎🤘😉👍🎼🖤⚡☠️🥃💀
Mah...
That's not YES. They are a shame
IT'S not JON !
Really a chagelling task to play such a long medley
Steve must keep going out of spite. It's not even that great of a cover band. Very sloppy and un-Yes like.
Did you expect them to play 80- minutes of Tales? they did all of Drama and 2 and 1/2 sides of Tales a few years ago.
