This games story was so genius. It was basically a self insert a kid at the dream of. The game even makes an original bakugan for the fan to have and even an original rival/villian type character. Our character befriending dan was like a childhood dream come true. The battle mechanics were glorified mini games but i still loved the game due to the nature of the story.

I always wondered why Leonidas wasn't made into a figure. The designs for him, Vladitor, Omega Leonidas, and Battle Axe Vladitor are all either based on existing Bakugan designs, or very easily replicated in toy form.

Leonidas is one of my most cherished memories from when I was younger. His voice acting in the Wii version really helped establish his character development imo, and solidified him as one of my favorite characters in the franchise. His design, his concept, his backstory. Leonidas in general is shrouded in mystery, and that makes him fascinating.
His rivalry with Vladitor is also really interesting, as it reminds me of Dante and Vergil from DMC in the sense that they could have easily ended up in the other's shoes under different circumstances. They were both fueled by hate and revenge, and they both had a partner who cared for them. Yet whereas one fueled his desire for revenge, the other quenched it.
To this day, Leonidas remains to be one of the most fascinating, well written and overall unique characters in the Bakugan universe, and I genuinely wanted him to be a real toy. Or at the very least, get more games with him.
Fun fact: Leonidas shares the same VA as Dan.

Think he's in the new Subterra attribute, which is like, 1 of 2 attributes I never used. Hope they release him in all the others.

I think Leonidas is a very unique bakugan with a high potential story and he should at least in bakugan battle Planet as a esteregg. I just want to see him in a series and for me Leonidas is the best bakugan.

Leon Lindig Leonidas is perhaps the most iconic popular and beloved bakugan and character in the game such shame that he doesn’t appear in the anime but hopefully he will make appearance in bakugan reboot

The closest is drago x tretorous in battle planet. Arms are too wide to be an exact replica, but its damn near close enough.

Honestly Leonidas and Vladator both should have been added to the show. The game (which I have for my Wii) was so amazing, to the point that I thought was available as merchandise. Wish they had a sequel to the game tbh. Oh and on the topic of attributes, I honestly am a pyrus type of guy when it comes to preference lol.

I have beat the game multiple times with different attributes but I think haos was the most fun for me because the end battle was tougher with the attribute disadvantage.

If I remember correctly the doom dimension is essentially the bakugan graveyard. They go there to die and is generally a place you don't want to be but is connected to several powerful entities, possibly their afterlife, and is vital to Vestroya as a whole. Because of this I always saw Leonidas being responsible for watching over the dead and fulfilling their last wishes and rectifying old grudges so that the fallen may rest in peace and move on. That at least explains why his strength is comparable to Drago's.
Personally I was always more of a Haos person in regards to Leonidas. Gold and white just looks great on him and is a fitting for one who watches over the dead and fulfills their last wills.
To add on, Leonidas' debut featured him rising out of the Doom Dimension as a being of pure light. I would have liked to have made him Haos because I like the idea of a being of light rising up from the depths of a hell-like landscape.
But isn't the Doom Dimension essentially Bakugan Hell?
@@kidprime6863 more like their graveyard/afterlife. It is where they go to die which is why they don't want to be forcibly sent there as they would soon be joining the dead, and with so much dead whose lives ended abruptly and tortuous there are a lot of restless and angy souls.

Also the souls of the Bakugan in the Doom Dimension created him with help of that ball of energy Hal-G created.
I loved Leo, he was one of my favorite in terms of simple dragon design and power. He was also perfect as a non cooperative partner who later changes. I wished he got some more time either in the old show or a newer game with our same character. This is one of my favorites from my childhood in terms of games and closest I got to the actual brawls from the show. Not even toy version got this close even with its gimmicks that weren't perfect. I think this game also gave birth for my love of rpg and character creation. You could also tell there was some sense of passion to making the game from the graphics, the story albeit simple yet simple but good, all the animations for different bakugan, and arena design. I've always wanted a more faithful new game that was closer to the shows mechanics with this custom character and Leonidas design. But give it obvious improvements from graphics, gameplay, story and even exploration
I remember having Leonidas set as a "Hoas" type bakugan when I played it on the ps2. They had a special throw that would increase their power the longer it took to get on a gate card. I would use whatever stage gimmicks I knew to extend the duration of that ability to overwhelm my opponents.
Edit: I think I went for a "light born from within the darkness" thing back then.
I remember pick that one too but only because I like the pure white with the golden horns.
Leonidas and I have an extremly close bond after so many years (almost a decade at this point)
I still imagine stories with him even if their not bakugan related anymore (nothing sexual you peverted minds).
So it is so nice to know that there is people with the same love that I have for this magnificent dragon.
PS: Darkus is and it will always be the true atribute for Leonidas.

Let's not talk about how Leo is way stronger in the DS version than all others.

Also, Leonidas cannon attribute is Haos (Hail Haos).

@Rodrick Young The player chooses Leonidas' attribute, so Leonidas has no official attribute. If Haos was Leonidas' canon attribute, they wouldn't give players this choice and Leonidas' gate card wouldn't have an equal bonus for all attributes. They had to choose some way to represent Leonidas on his cards, so they just chose Haos.
Also a representation of a Bakugan on cards isn't always consistent with the bakugan's attribute. On the card "The Shadow", an ability card which boosts Darkus Bakugan, Dragonoid is featured as a black silhouette. This obviously doesn't make Dragonoid a Darkus Bakugan.
@Rodrick Young Leonidas has no canon attribute. That's the whole point of letting the characters choose which attribute they'd like him to be.
@Rodrick Young Manion is depicted as Subterra on its gate card. So are you going to tell me that Chan Lee doesn't have a Pyrus Manion? That Runo doesn't have a Haos Manion?
Manion exists in many attributes, but they had to choose one attribute to portray Manion as on its card.
Diavolo have you never heard of native attributes?, Dagonoid’s native attribute is pyrus, but other dragonoids of other attributes can exist. Leonidas’ Native attitude is Haos, but it can still be other attributes. I hope this explains what Rodrick was trying to explain.
Leonidas and Vladitor deserved the spotlight in the show, and have their own toys
Leonidas was a awesome bakugan and I think I speak for everyone and myself that leonidas should be in battle planet he was a fan favorite so let's hope that spanmaster will hear are cry's for leonidas to be in battle planet.

Leo was most likely just made for the game, nothing more. Doing Master probably didn’t realize the popularity of Leo and as such he has been lost with time.

You know Leonidas would make an amazing cannon charafter because of how unique his personality is with how he’s more aggressive and violent then most of the heroes we know, meaning he could be the centre of many episodes as the one who causes a problem or helps solves a problem started by another, not to mention he’s the closest thing we’ve ever gotten to Sheri from the Darkus faction (to my knowledge) as j think that attribute suits him the best.

I spent years of my childhood looking for him at every toy shops only to realise 10 years later that he was created only for the game and never made as a toy
Personally, if there were to be a canonical attribute for original Leonidas, it has to be Haos. Why? In the game, both his gate cards and signature ability cards in both of his stages depict the Haos rendition no matter what.
Yeah I think Leonidas should have made an appearance in the anime series along with Vladitor and Marduk , Marduk was an interesting character that should have been explored upon more maybe he could of been another person that once visited the doom dimension and could of been working with Masquerade, quite a bit of missed potential TBH. Also I always had a theory that Leonidas could also be a Bakugan that possesses the ability to change attributes at will or can change it before being sent into battle.

It's strange. I started watching Battle Planet somce it's on Netflix, justnto try it out. Seeing how everyone loved their bakugan in the show brought back memories of the game I'd love playing on the DS (still got my copy too! Darkus team always). It was always such a fun experience to go through that journey with Leonidas. Befriending him over and over. Pretty sure he was an imaginary friend I made up at one point because I got so upset not having a toy of him (never got any decent Darkus dragons either to pretend were him, sadly). It's nostalgic to think about that big guy.

As a kid I always wanted a Darkus Omega Leonidas because he is supposed to be OUR main bakugan. I know this is a very popular opinion lmao but still. And thats on periodt.

God the memories. I remember getting a copy for the DS from my at the time boyfriend's brother back in middle school and adored him, his relationship with the player, and his overall arc. I thought it was all very sweet, and I've always been a sucker for those kinds of tropes. Honestly made me sad when I lost it, but after being allowed by my mom to shop around on Amazon for my birthday, I found the opportunity to buy it, so now I'm currently waiting until I can reunite with my dragon boi.
As for me, I tend to play Haos Leonidas, though all versions of him are best boi, and no one can change my mind-

Leonidas when he appears is stronger than Dan`s Dragonoid
After evolution into Omega Leonidas, when his power reaches 600G - He`d be stronger than Neo Drago and he could be able to beat even Cross Drago(700G)(Let`s say Leo`d receive more Ability Cards than we got in the game) from New Vestroia, so also unacceptable(for scenario ofc)
And then...It`d be too late to make his debiut in 3`rd season
Maybe he could appear in the last one, but still no for long because...There`s nothing more after Mechtanium Surge
To make things clear - I`m a fanboy of Leonidas since I first saw him, in heart he will always be the best
But that's what makes it fun for the drago to face bakugans as powerful as he or more.

I'm so happy that the old community manager managed to convince spin master to put Leonidas in Champions of Vestroia for switch, but I'm just stunned that they went ahead with making a toy for him. For anyone who didn't know, the Leonidas who appears in COV is the same Leonidas from the original game, giving a really cool tie between modern and legacy bakugan through this character who has been around since the beginning, and is finally now taking form as a physical bakugan toy.

Honestly, I was kinda happy that Leónidas was a game exclusive, it made me feel as if I had an original partner when I played, what disappointed me was in the sequel game bakugan:defenders of the core, Leonidas was nowhere to be seen, they could have given him another evolution even a maximum form, so much wasted potential for huge fan favorite.
Ahhh this brings back memories from my child hood. And yeah always went with darkus as well favorite attribute and just seemed funnily enough fitting since he was born from the doom dimension

I've drawn some of my own different evolution of Leonidas and I've even gone so far as to sit down and talk about what it would be like if he was in all of the seasons of the show
For everyone who sees these they did release a Leonidas with the new remastered bakugan series currently going on in 2023. Bakugan EVO battle arena came with a real version but the special Leonidas does not look exactly like the original from the game. I personally played the game back on DS when it first came out and played with every version of Leonidas for multiple Playthru’s I wish I never lost my naga that came with the game and the game itself. It was a very good part of my childhood.

Honestly, I remember playing the game as a kid, and always thought that Leonidas was quite cool. Started as a darkus, and later playthroughs ended up always making him a darkus, since it felt quite fitting for a bakugan born from the doom dimension to be a darkus, as in having a dark origin, yet not meaning that they must be evil only because of that. Was kinda surprised when years later I discovered that he was never introduced as a bakugan for the show, because he looked like he could be a main character's bakugan. Also, I'll say, the game for as simple as it was, it was quite entertaining, and the characters felt like they belonged in that world, which is surprising for what it was a self insert game, because yeah, you join the group from the show, yet the characters remain like their counterparts from the show, they even give you your own rival/villain to fight, instead of fighting the one the group would fight in the show. Honestly, it was quite refreshing, and I'm surprised that it still feels like a fun game, even though I grew up, it's not a game I regret playing or feel like it was a waste of time (I'll admit I replayed it more times than it should've been expected from a linear story like the one in that game)
I still play the game once and a while, finding my self really enjoy it, and I do really love Leonidas and Vladitor ( yes where I got my name from) but I also want a Bakugan game where you can create your own Bakugan partner but still be in the style of this game, you could have either a dragon, bird, or human/human hybrid. Maybe you'd first choose what kind you want between animal, mythical beast (like dragons, such) and then a element and then get to customize, with some unique features based on the type you choose with some common features and then get to color it based on the color pallet for that type
Love Leonidas. I had a dream about getting from a Bakugan store. Sadly I found out it was a dream because there is no Bakugan store... BUT NOW THERE'S A REBOOT HIM NOW AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL I GET HIM!!!
This is literally the best Bakugan game hands down, like I still have my Wii plugged in to this day just so I can occasionally play it or older GameCube games
leonidas was my boy I remember picking the black ones because it just felt right because at the time they didn't have a dark user in the show it felt like I was really in the anime I love this game. also Darkus just feels right for him

I know this is 3 years old, but I always loved this game. To me, his canon attribute will always be Haos purely for the fact he is Haos on the gate cards AND because he’s meant to be seen as the opposite of Vladitor. Leonidas learns to trust and care for others whereas Vladitor embraces the hatred and destruction (Especially with Marduk). Haos is the opposite of Darkus. What better combination to make them true opposites and rivals? Different elements, different personalities, born in the same way. I genuinely wish Leonidas and Vladitor was apart of the mainstream series, that would have been epic.
I love Leo so much. I had two copies of the game, one with Pyrus Leonidas, and one with Darkus. I was so sad that an actual toy was never made, especially since he would be so interesting to bring into the series, since he's kinda the opposite of what Drago becomes, so he could be very very interesting

Leonidas was around during the events of the the original Bakugan TV shows and Leonidas was created from the energy from the deceased Bakugan who were turning to stone in the doom dimension
I know people spout a lot of bs online, but I promise you I drew Leonidas when I was 9, before he even came out, sent it in to bakugan and got a thank you letter from the company(for being a fan). I drew a muscly dragon with a backwards horn. When you look it up it says it was the only fan created bakugan design. I don't think he is actually based off of my design but he was definitely my favorite bakugan because he was exactly what I made when I made my own bakugan.

Haos can work as irony. Though Darkus makes more sense since he can fill the void if Alice isn’t revealed as Masquerade.

The Bakugan video game was my first video game and hell I love it now even twelve years later. Having said that, it's been close to thirteen years since I was six. I now am close to my goal as a machinist so I'll hopefully be able to make Leonidas and Vladitor into a tangible form.
I'm sure people have 3D printed both them but I think a heavy metal version suits the both of them

It was mine as well, it was also very convenient to have leo as a darkus bakugan since the last battle field was darkus and you went up against your rival at the very end, I destroyed battle ax vladtitor with maxed out darkus omega Leonidas

I played the game 4 times through, twice as a Pyrus brawler and twice as a Darkus. Personally I think I like Darkus more overall but I could go either way. I have it for DS so maybe I'll play it this weekend.

I chose to have Ventus attribute during my first playthrough, because green was my favorite color at the time. Later, I figured the only way Julie could possibly confuse Leonidas with Vladitor was if they were both Darkus attribute. Then again, Leonidas' artwork for both his ability and gate cards depict a Haos attribute illustration. So, the jury is still out.
Still, it would have been nice to at least have him as an unlockable in the future Bakugan video games. Yeah, it probably wouldn't make sense in those particular stories, but at least it would be something. This is Sparta! ... I mean Vestroia!

Okay, quick update! Was being a night owl and I decided to look at the new bakugan toys, and the new Dragonoid toy has a fairly nice look that reminds me of Leonidas, so I'm going after a Darkus one when I go to the stores! Gotta find it first though.

Also as far as I'm concerned, Darkus is Leonidas's canon attribute. After all, he does come from the Doom Dimension, and that Battlefield gives a bonus to Darkus...
Haven’t played the game in so long! Might get it on a console that doesn’t have the infamous Wii remote which can be annoying at times and I might as well see what it would play like on Xbox (hopefully). Leonidas is probably one of my favourites in bakugan with Serpentoid and griffon being my other favourites. Might get bakugan champions of Vestroia on switch sometime

I think they should have had Leonidas in Defenders of the core and made more games following the og characters with you still having Leonidas. Also having Leo evolve a few more times
I chose to pick the attribute ventus only because my favorite character on the show Shun uses that attribute. But in this video I kinda like how Leonidas looked so I may try him as the darkus attribute next. I played the game so much and I always wandered why Leo wasn’t in the original bakugan series. I wish they had put in the series.
