This video has made me cry so much, seeing Bullet and Trigger as they are. I hardly missed the Roy Rogers Show on Saturday in N.Y. and I was five years old. Until we meet again.
Roy loved trigger so much I don’t understand why would his family part with him and bullet he had special place in his heart for him seems his family give them up ! R, I.p Roy may you and trigger are together again happy trails again riding off to the sunset together I bet trigger happy to see you in heaven
@@Stevie-hn7mp The Roy Rogers Museum in Branson, Missouri closed in December of 2009 and the museum's contents were auctioned off (Roy Rogers had told his son to take that action if the museum ever started operating at a loss).
I knew Roy for many years. Dale and myself, never really clicked. But Roy always had a smile, I learned never to point him out especially in the museum in Victorville. People would then want to shake his hand, which always obliged. Trouble was after decades of heavy handshakes, his hands were always in agony.
So sad that he was not provided for when Roy and Dale died. Their graves are magnificent . The animals they apparently loved so much have been shipped around like chattel . Maybe it has been the family.
The museum in Branson closed due to falling attendance and they then had a tax debt to pay to the IRS. That is why they auctioned off Trigger, Bullet etc and all the other items in the museum. All you are seeing here is the hide of Trigger put over a fiberglass model, done in 1965-'66 when Trigger died. When this was done Trigger was old, 31 and no longer the magnificent horse of the 1950's. I wish Roy had thought more about.
I remember watching a special on Animal Planet about famous animals, Trigger was one of them. I had heard that Roy trained Trigger himself, and that Trigger could turn on a dime and rear so perfectly that Roy was never in danger of falling off. This is a fascinating bit of history.
I seen Roy on an interview show many year ago, I think was with Johnny Carson. I do remember him saying he had Trigger stuffed. He then added that when he went he wanted to be stuffed and have them plop him right on Triggers back. I did go and look around to see if I could find the clip of this. Could not find it but I did find this Roy used to joke that after he died, he wanted to be preserved and mounted on the saddle on Trigger. Roy Rogers’ son, Dusty, once said of his father. “Triggerdied and Dad had him stuffed. Bullet died and Dad had him stuffed.Buttermilk died and Dad had her stuffed. Now Mom sleeps with one eye open!”
So glad I got to see this. Roy was my grandpa’s cousin. He even sent my mother a few strands of Triggers tail. Lol

Where is the museum?

I was surprised to see them there, I thought they'd be in a museum somewhere.

Get information, I did not know that Lori had trained trigger himself that's awesome 👍🏻. It would be neat to be able to relive that piece of History.
Did Roy Rogers have trigger stuffed
That is a good question, not for sure who had him stuffed.
I think it was Roy. I read that he couldn't bear to have him burried so Trigger was stuffed

A British sitcom mentions this, plus one of the characters is called trigger
