I just realized something... The eldest brother became a spirit, The middle brother matured into a wise human, And the youngest chose to be an animal. The movie was about learning to understand each other and the importance of forgiveness and love. "Brothers to each other in this world we remain". Who made this movie? Whoever did is a freaking genius!!! And they said this movie had no plot?! This movie will go down as one of my all-time favorites!!!
When I was younger, I find funny because they looked like me, and Tanana always remembered of my grandmother. Then I realized, they are natives too, but in a different part of our continent. It always brings me childhood memories, love that ❤️
Why are they the same? I honestly really like the modern films, such as Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Tangled, The Jungle Book 2016 and Frozen. They're not perfect, but no Disney film ever was that. Even The Lion King had flaws and downsides.
I love Hercules Mulan Tarzan Brother Bear being rated G Philocetes played by Danny Devito Mushu played by Eddie Murphy Tarzan played by Tony Goldwyn Kenai played by Joaquin Phoenix
Yeah, now that I think about it. I guess Kenai's carelessness caused him to anger the spirits and turn into a bear. Therefore, Denahi should punch Kenai because Kenai caused Denahi a fuck load of pain when he thought he lost both of his brothers. Yep.
Teneishia Coleman Well,it doesn't matter anymore since later he realised that he did committed a serious mistake. He learnt his lesson eventually and that's why it's one of my favourite disney animated movie :)
it's shame that sitaka died as an indirect result of kenais carelessness, and it's also shame that koda's mother died as a direct result of kenais' reckless. but at the same time, her death lead to kenai and koda meeting and becoming brothers. still it sucks that two lives had to be lost when they shouldn't have been.
Which song in the Lion King even REMOTELY sounds like this? This is Native American inspired music, Lion King is based in Africa so it's African inspired music (mostly). Just because a movie has flying birds doesn't mean it's a rip off. Plenty of movies have birds flying in the sky, it doesn't mean anything. Disney wasn't trying to reinvent a classic, they were trying to make one.
I'll sum up the comments sections for this video and every other disney song video on youtube: 50% explaining why the sing in the video is awesome, 50% explaining why frozen is overrated.
+Urdnot Stark Lol, which just confirms that Frozen is awesome, why else would it be such a hot topic and high-jack topics so easily ;) From jest to earnest, I think very fondly of Brother Bear when I hear the songs, because it was the first movie I ever took my baby sister to see at the cinema. She was seven years old, yet still now almost a decade after remember her first cinema visit. Good times, good memories. Loving something new doesn't mean discarding something old, down the line it'll all be memories :)
This is a little embarrassing but... this movie came out two months after I was born. And up until I was four I’d watch it everyday until eventually it went “missing”. Even after it went missing I bought another copy about a year later and watched it at least once a month. I kept telling my parents I was going to marry Kenai when I grew up and he was my imaginary friend for years. Whenever my dad would sit in a chair I’d freak out and be like, “dad stop! Kenai is sitting there.” Then when I was seven, my best friend got flowers and a fake wedding dress and I married an invisible Kenai in my neighbors backyard. Not to mention, I made my whole class watch Brother Bear 2 in the fourth grade even though nobody had seen the first movie. 😂 Yeah, I’m glad that’s over...
I like how this song and movie represents very good life morals and it shows that the people from the past to the people now haven't really changed( the things that makes us human , that is.)
I actually just went to a lecture on this. Not gonna say I'm an expert, but humans are almost certainly not to blame for the extinction of mammoths. Only a few mammoth carcasses have been discovered with clear markings of humans butchering them, and even in those cases, it's not clear that the humans killed the mammoth in the first place. It's really not certain whether or not early humans ever killed mammoths for food, at least not habitually.
This movie could have used some more prehistoric animals. Like saber tooths, cave lions, giant sloths, copes tapirs, stage-moose, mastodons, steppe bison, dire wolves, yesterday’s camels, Pleistocene horses, ect.
This is a beautiful song that goes to a great movie. Everthing on earth from the tiny pebble to the giant whale are all connected in someway in the circle of life. Those of you who don't undestand you will someday.
This movie started out so well and the writing just felt erratic to me personally. They opened with great culture, music, scenery, but the writing kind of lack in the middle. I felt the strongest part of this movie was the beginning and ending. Still a great watch.
I have to say I agree. Like I love this movie so much but I must admit the writing got pretty lackluster, especially with Rutt and Tuke becoming nothing more than comic relief characters
11 years on and I still live breath and love this movies music and story, they really don’t make animated films like they used too. In this world it still remains XD
A lot of Disney movies haven't turned out well lately. I think they're usually very silly and simple, more for little kids. But they do manage to pull out great stories every so often, and this is definitely one of them!
That is how it goes, look through history all creatures meet their ends and I dont consider us animals, humans will meet their end as well. Nothing Lasts Forever.
I can remember when this movie was released one of those awful right-wing websites trash it for celebrating "non-Christian" religions, and called it a "gay indoctrination" movie for questioning male roles. I can just imagine what the De Santis crowd would be saying about it if it were released today.
Love the movie 1st and 2nd very meaning and one of the greatest of them its really a classicand the last one of the good old days ON DISNEY THEY SHOULD SHOW MORE OF THE OLD CLASSICS NOW ALL THEY HAVE IS CRAP ON no offence to them BUT AT LEAST SHOW ONE ONC A WEEK FOR HEAVENS SACK!!!!
Lilo from Lilo and Stitch at 3:10 and Finding Nemo at 1:26 (look at the bottom middle fish). Disney used characters from previous movies. Dunno why. Maybe to see if you notice.
It is sad that some of those glaciers they have in this movie probably dont exist anymore because man is sooo obsessed with cars and is becoming more lazy as technology makes it easier for them to not have to work. he didn't chose it
He did, didn't you watch until the end of the movie?
Valentina Avila he didn't choose at first, but at the end of the movie he chooses to stay a bear
True, the elder brother would have preferred to live, I'm sure. :D
hey we are see you can called us ko
The one film that gets brotherly interactions correct
The one film that gets brotherly interactions correct

It’s sad how Kenai’s excitement and carelessness in that small moment changes him and his family’s life forever
Why is it our entire lives are based on when we're young and careless?

just love the artwork of the mountains, animals.. nature in the north American - Canadian mountain range is where it's at.
Dustin Rustad I know right?
And prehistoric North America at that!
It's not Canada its Alaska
Mabel: "This year, I lost my dear husband, Edgar."
Edgar: "Stop tellin' everyone I'm dead!"
I still lmao at the thought of that.
Maryf goat: "you shut up!"
Echo: "you shut up!"
Goat: "no YOU shut up!"
Maryf Mabel: Sometimes... I can STILL HEAR HIS VOICE!
Maryf I told you woman I right here!!!! XD
Maryf iiuuuuuuuqqqiiii
Maryf 0 1
Hppg
Am I the only one who had a little crush on Kenai?
no really :p i too (i think) xD
HierKönnteIhreWerbungStehen I really liked Sitka honestly... but Kenai was a strong second place
HierKönnteIhreWerbungStehen Naaaah
No exactly, I love him too 😍😂
I felt the same about Nita in the second film XD
There’s just that special something about this movie. The characters, the music, the themes. It stays with you
This movie is a canadian Lion king
next to "lion king" this is the best disney movie ever
agreed
No doubt. My top 3 are Lion King, Brother Bear and Tarzan
Yup
2025 live action Brother Bear calling it now
Royal Payn literally my top 3 as well, just placing Tarzan before Brother Bear.
Basically this is north america's version of the circle of life lol
Michal Rojas lol I can see it
And it's still a banger! Love this so much.
This movie is a Canadian Lion king 😉
Yeah
Interesting point of view
This movie makes me so happy
When I was younger, I find funny because they looked like me, and Tanana always remembered of my grandmother. Then I realized, they are natives too, but in a different part of our continent. It always brings me childhood memories, love that ❤️
Denahi is honestly my favorite disney character, ever. He had such a versatile personality to begin with and had lots of character development.
Disney has lost it's touch and image.
Disney movies these days are all the same. 🙏. Smh. Please bring back the old Disney.🙏
I know right but they pick the perfect voice (Tina Turner) to sing this
+Kelsye Jordan true🙏
Why are they the same? I honestly really like the modern films, such as Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Tangled, The Jungle Book 2016 and Frozen. They're not perfect, but no Disney film ever was that. Even The Lion King had flaws and downsides.
megadracosaurus it's just an opinion dude. We all have different views....don't take it too hard.lol.
Rich Liv Not taking it hard, lol. Just wondering why you have that opinion.
I love Hercules Mulan Tarzan Brother Bear being rated G
Philocetes played by Danny Devito
Mushu played by Eddie Murphy
Tarzan played by Tony Goldwyn
Kenai played by Joaquin Phoenix
Kenai made me laugh when he rode that mammoth! ☺🐘🐬🌊.
He's such a silly goofball
I'm still trying to figure out how he got up there. Did he jump from a ledge?
He made me laugh when he said just tie it up.
Riding a mammoth looks like fun.
I thought they were extinct
Very underrated and beautiful movie
#NoDAPL This song is beautiful and we should take it to heart when it comes to preserving our environment and the integrity of our fellow humans.
and animals especially.
Damn, this movie is already 15 years old this year. Where has the time gone ?
Ryan Blanche 16
17, now
If he had tied the basket properly, everything would have been the same as it was.

Teneishia Coleman Well,it doesn't matter anymore since later he realised that he did committed a serious mistake. He learnt his lesson eventually and that's why it's one of my favourite disney animated movie :)
Teneishia Coleman Not anger the spirits, more teach Kenai a spiritual lesson (as in actuallyy teaching him, not punishing him).
it's shame that sitaka died as an indirect result of kenais carelessness, and it's also shame that koda's mother died as a direct result of kenais' reckless. but at the same time, her death lead to kenai and koda meeting and becoming brothers. still it sucks that two lives had to be lost when they shouldn't have been.
Heathcliff BUTTERFLY EFFECT.

2:52-54 I just love the way Kenia mocks Denahi "Just tie it up"! LOL
2019?
Just me?
Okay...
no, not just you. 💖
2020 now

man i love both of them, I'm just tired of the Frozen backlash
Moana is better than Frozen
Who's still here in 2020???🙌
@Jay Philip S. cool😉
@Jay Philip S. I still have my 16 year old original DVD of brother bear 1 in my CD rack

This is the best childhood movie from Diney for me.♥
Thanks Diney for this beautiful movie.
Man, Alaska is beautiful, I want to go there some day!
Alaska haves cougars
J Paul 3 thanks captain obvious
@@dawson1787 wrong actually they do not live in alaska
@@pie112098 some sightings though... they could be moving north to avoid humans in Canada
@@xandermills9499 yeah in southeast alaska. Everything north of there doesnt seem like the proper environment of mountain lions
The incomparable Tina Turner. Your music is legend.
Mr. Collins......your lyrics are beyond anything out there.
BEST DISNEY MOVIE EVER!!!!!!
This movie had some beautiful animation.
In the end I hear: "Hey everybody! Banana is back!" 😂😂😂
Tanana not banana 🤣😂
I like how this song and movie represents very good life morals and it shows that the people from the past to the people now haven't really changed( the things that makes us human , that is.)
A song so spiritual and strong, Phil Collins got jealous and forced the people working on the album to put his own version of the song on the CD.
Wow. What an asshole -_- Tina Turner kicks ass! I would've sued
I personally like Phil Collins version better
Uhm, it’s because he wrote it and he has the right to sing a version of song?? Just saying
That’s not true, Tina’s version is the third song on the album, Phil’s is a bonus track. Please do some research next time before hating Phil Collins.
Kenai is such a adorable goofball my goodness my heart 🤣😍
It seems a lot of people didn't love Disney's Experimental Era
Sad shit bro
I remember watching Brother Bear as a little kid and whenever Kenai appeared on screen, I was literally scared of him for no reason 😂
I noticed a lot of parallels from this movie in Moana and it was astounding!!!
ryanruckle I thought I was the only one who noticed the second Grandma became the Manta Ray I was like Sitka anybody lol
Neevkl _7 lol yup
2020 anyone???
3:07 it’s Kenai fault that Sitka died and if tied it up sitka would still be alive
i have seen this movie over 6 times now and its still awesome every time i watch it :D

This movie is probably set just after the first humans came across Beringa from Asia.
i belive in spirits my self, so hearing this song makes me very happy... The greats spirits have not be forgotten. thank you.
Still my favourite movie to this day
One of the most underrated disney movies
This movie could have used some more prehistoric animals. Like saber tooths, cave lions, giant sloths, copes tapirs, stage-moose, mastodons, steppe bison, dire wolves, yesterday’s camels, Pleistocene horses, ect.

wow, I love this movie so much it is my favorite movie ever in the history of everness
Is it still your favorite 9 years later?
Yeah, bring back the good old Disney. The way it use to be!!!
This was my favorite movie when I was younger(it still is)!
the end of the song always gives me goose bumps! love Tina turner! :)
11 years on and I still live breath and love this movies music and story, they really don’t make animated films like they used too. In this world it still remains XD
After aladdin lion king and beauty and the beast this is by far one of the best disney classics of all time
I love the bit with the Orca
i really love this song, and this is one of bests movie by Disney ever made and of course that I'Ve ever seen
This movie always makes me feel like a child all over again. ^_^ No matter how old I get.
A lot of Disney movies haven't turned out well lately. I think they're usually very silly and simple, more for little kids. But they do manage to pull out great stories every so often, and this is definitely one of them!
0:50 I can't be the only one who really wanted to do that as a kid
I found this after so long! I love this song!
God I miss this movie..
Y'all think the Disney spirit's dead? Watch The Princess and the Frog, Tangled and Frozen and you'll think differently.
don't forget brave
Don't forget Wreck-It Ralph.
bianca123448
Brave was by Pixar. TeamRocket was specifically talking only about the Walt Disney Pictures line of movies.
Eh. Like this movie better than those three combined.
Bish, you forgot Lion King.
this is one of the very last decent movie songs i ever heard in my life before they all started sounding terrible or too overwhelming.
i take that back. after all, there was legend of the guardians and bolt. :)
You ever watched Shrek 2?
love this movie.. thank u disney for giving our childs wisdom on a easy and funny way
Thank you great grandmother
I've listened to Phil Collins's version of Great Spirits, but this has to be my favorite version of all time.
That is how it goes, look through history all creatures meet their ends and I dont consider us animals, humans will meet their end as well. Nothing Lasts Forever.
I love this song; it has such a valuable message.
1:23 pause exactly at the moment, when the mamut hits the net and you will see NEMO! O.O
Ce Mamut XD
Such a beautiful and fascinating culture once you learn more about them
I can remember when this movie was released one of those awful right-wing websites trash it for celebrating "non-Christian" religions, and called it a "gay indoctrination" movie for questioning male roles. I can just imagine what the De Santis crowd would be saying about it if it were released today.

I love the brother realaship in this movie
In Latin Spanish version is AWESOME ❤️
This is my 10th time watching this.
Okay if the middle was like the beginning and the end than I probably would’ve liked this much more now.
I wanna watch this again....
I miss the old disney
that's one of my favorties of all time
first time I was in cinema I watched this movie lol
So my dad said "that doesn't cut the ice for me" right at 0:31
i was sad when Sitka died. *can't remember his name all too well.* i loved that brother out of all of them
Love the movie 1st and 2nd very meaning and one of the greatest of them its really a classicand the last one of the good old days ON DISNEY THEY SHOULD SHOW MORE OF THE OLD CLASSICS NOW ALL THEY HAVE IS CRAP ON no offence to them BUT AT LEAST SHOW ONE ONC A WEEK FOR HEAVENS SACK!!!!
This has to be one of the oldest videos on RUclips. What a song!
this movie had the awesomest video game! i couldn't put my gameboy down when i first got it!
Haha! I see it too! Never noticed that before :) They always put other disney charatcers into their films :)
I've always been proud of my Native American heritage, but this made me even prouder!
KuroKatana Nice!!!!
2019 ya'll
big finish, I like it, and the movie.
I agree.. I think Circle Of Life is my personal all-time favorite, but this one isn't far behind :)
Lilo from Lilo and Stitch at 3:10 and Finding Nemo at 1:26 (look at the bottom middle fish). Disney used characters from previous movies. Dunno why. Maybe to see if you notice.
"jUsT tIe It Up MERRHHH" Lmao 😂😂
#GiveBrotherBearALiveAction
i beginning to wonder why this hasn't been adapted into a broadway musical! it would've been a great artwork of disney!
beauteful! i love it! tina turner is great!
The transformation scene has the BEST music in the entire movie!
Followed by On My Way, then this song :P (Just my opinion)
actually paused at 1:25 in the frame look between the mammoths eye then look straight down tada you see nemo :)
bears are mammals in the family ursidae
k then
I got 6 brothers love em all even if they are annoying
