Thank you for this:) might be worth mentioning you may need to play with the window motor to get it to sit in a good installable position. Had to bump the motor a couple times as my window motor failed stuck up of course and the screws to the motor all stripped out.
Just completed this task with your guidance on my 2005. Mine was temperature sensitive, no-op when cold. So 40ish today window stuck at top. My solution: heat the motor a bit with propane torch! Wound right down to where I could access glass nuts. Like yours the glass wedged at top. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Yo this is actually very helpful! I'm gonna have to watch this a few times to be able to help a friend of mine to be able to switch out that regulator and motor thats been an issue for them
I watched your video, but I don't dare try to do it myself, I get anxious and surely wouldn't get it back together, lol! Great step by step video though, thanks!
I'll give it a go now that I watched your excellent video. 🙂 Not being able to drop the glass and remove the motor assembly was putting me off. I've only ever done window winder assemblies.
Your really good video helped me out a ton the only thing I did different if you see the Phillips head screw and take that out it allows you to remove the the trim on the outside of the window which makes it a lot easier to remove the whole window you can see the screw really well at 3 minutes and 45 but you must get the window to this point in order to get to the screw
If the window motor is stuck up, unbolt the regulator and youll be able to slide the glass down enough to get to the two nuts on the left. To get to the nut on the right, use a step bit to drill a hole the size of a 10mm socket, it wont hurt the structure of the door. However my big problem was the mounts in the glass were spinning so i had to reach behind and hold them with needle nose vise grips.
Did you ever have to go back and lower the glass a little? Seems like it was a little rough closing the door. Mine is doing the same now and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the height.
@@violetflame22 you can try tapping on the motor to get it to work again, or removing the regulator bolts to the the window move down. Be careful to not break it. Thanks for watching
Bro, my window is stuck in the up and you edited out the special sauce to remove the unit from the door. I don't understand :( but thank you for the rest of the video.
Question for u. I switch out my motor on 06 Impreza now my glass is slightly off. How do I just the glass it lean towards the inside Morris, and pushing on the rubber triangle by the mirror. Thanks
@@inoriyuzuriha7543 when I replace my window regulator I didn’t put in the inside the rails that’s why it was pushing the window out. I fix that now it’s all good!
I buy the part that has the lowest cost and the cheapest shipping. Alot of the parts out there are made in the same place, just boxed and branded differently. I try to save money. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a nightmare but thanks to your video I will save money on having someone else do this job.
Now I know what to do.
Thank you so much 🙏

Thanks for the video. You're a more patient man than me. I think I'll get my mechanic to sort this issue out for me!

Thanks for making this video. Hot tip for others to make sure the window isn’t in front of the track on the left side when you reasssemble!
Thanks for watching and for the tip!
Thanks for the video as it will help to guide me in replacing my 2013 Subaru Forester rear window.

I might have tweaked it a little, it’s been a while since I did that. Thanks for watching
How did you get that front single nut off the glass?! I've got mine wound all the way out but there's no room for it to budge out!

Sorry, sometimes it’s hard to record and work at the same time. Thanks for watching!
I wish you put it back together ended up with more bolts 🤣🤣
When I worked at a dealership we would prank the other mechanics by throwing some bolts into their parts tray
Ended up with 2 left myself!

You need to adjust the window regulator, loosen the hardware and move the pivot points around till you find the spot where it works properly
@scrapdaddysgarage5027 the pivot points of where the motor sits or do you mean something else because I'm having the same issue on my 2003 forester
