    - From pristine beaches to majestic mountains, the country offers diverse outdoor experiences.
    - The freedom to explore nature without strict regulations enhances the overall enjoyment.
😊 Positive Perception of Mexican People
    - Mexicans are generally friendly, helpful, and have good intentions towards foreigners.
    - Despite varying English proficiency levels, locals are willing to assist travelers, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
    - Both the government and cartels prioritize protecting tourists, ensuring a safer environment.
    🏥 Healthcare and Accessibility
    - Mexico offers affordable healthcare services with efficient access to medical facilities and procedures.
    - Healthcare costs are notably lower than in Western countries, making it an attractive option for expatriates.
    - Quick document processing and quality medical care contribute to a positive healthcare experience.
    🍽️ Food Experience and Caution
    - Mexican cuisine is renowned for its taste and freshness, particularly items like guacamole and avocados.
    - However, travelers should exercise caution due to the risk of food poisoning, especially in areas with water quality issues.
    - Enjoying Mexican food requires vigilance to avoid potential health risks.
    💸 Expense Considerations and Scams
    - Popular tourist destinations in Mexico, like Cancun and Tulum, can be unexpectedly expensive, challenging assumptions of affordability.

    - Understanding local pricing dynamics and budgeting appropriately can help manage expenses effectively.
🚨 Crime Awareness and Safety Precautions
    - Crime rates vary across Mexico, necessitating vigilance and caution, especially for tourists and expatriates.
    - While some areas are relatively safe, others may pose risks of theft or violence, requiring travelers to be aware of their surroundings.
    - Taking proactive safety measures, such as avoiding isolated areas and being mindful of belongings, is essential for personal security.
    🚫 Least Preferred Locations
    - Tulum and Mexico City stand out as places Rafael advises against due to various factors such as scams, crime, and environmental concerns.
    - Mexico City's pollution, noise, and lack of air conditioning in accommodations contribute to a less desirable living experience.
    - Negative experiences in certain locations highlight the importance of thorough research and personal preferences in choosing living destinations.
    🚗 Infrastructure Challenges
    - Despite efforts to improve infrastructure, Mexico faces challenges, particularly in driving conditions, with poor roads and aggressive driving behaviors.
    - Infrastructure limitations, including issues with transportation and road quality, affect the overall driving experience, contrasting with other countries.
    - Ongoing improvements indicate progress, but infrastructure shortcomings remain noteworthy considerations for residents and visitors.

So true. I am still in the USA but at 73 researching my alternatives. Have had it. And I hear and read so many--- still ignorant to think we are the greatest- maybe the US is the most arrogant but not great. Mass shootings, elementary school kids murdered for no reason, cost of living, lousy and expensive healthcare that has been an issue for decades, politics that has reached an all time propaganda machine, and so much crap in our food that no wonder everyone is obese, diabetic and has to take Rx that can cost $21,000 per injection. As you can tell, I am very frustrated and need a better quality of life. Lived in Spain and trying to decide between Spain or mexico- (Spain taxes my pensions) etc. but feels safer. Just to add: went to US local ER and was diagnosed for a sprain and possible fracture of the wrist. Got worse -went to an orthopedic: his diagnosis: 2 breaks and a fracture! Can my life threatening illnesses survive this as I age? Hell no. Feels like life or death living in the US.

Mordidas here are far cheaper than US police traps.
Outside of the Gringo resorts the cost of living is about 40%.
I have never been mugged, or food poisoned in Mexico.
Of course there is fantastic weather. You don't need AC in CDMX. Merida is something else.
Fantastic food. Fantastic communities. Fantastic freedom
Try India, where I've been mugged and food poisoned and scammed many times. The roads are double Mexico's time. There are 9 different castes compared to Mexico's 4, and the beggars are not the bottom caste. Nothing happens unless you cross some official's palm with silver. But I love India.

Guys, if you’re a tourist in Mexico don’t forget to wash your hands. Since many street food and food in general is eaten with the hands we Mexicans carry around anti-bacterial gel in our pocket and use it if there isn’t a bathroom around to wash our hands. I’m appalled at how tourists go to the taco stand and hold their taco with dirty hands. I get that tourists are excited to try everything and often forget the most basic things, but if you’ve been on the metro touching the poles, at the park touching stuff, at the beach, anywhere, WASH OR CLEAN YOUR HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING YOUR FOOD! Most tourist get Moctezuma revenge because they eat with dirty hands

Weather is much better in the highlands. Never snows. Never muggy. See Weatherspark to compare climates.
    Great people and culture!
