Thanks so much for this in depth review. So grateful - I am going to get the HD599 I think as I am looking for that Audiophile sound in a relatively cheap headphone. I wonder how they compare to the HD600 or HD650 - any thoughts?
Just got the HD650s - they were only £11 more than the HD600 so a no brainer. I initially got the HD598SE and they were great and the sound stage was fantastic as well as being so convenient and easy to drive. I however could hear that they were almost there and not completely there. The missing potential just annoyed me. Not a bad sound but just knowing that there was more, was distracting. More base, more in the highs and more in the power of the sound. I got the HD650s for under £250 and got an SMSL M3 DAC/Amp and the difference is just astounding. The base is deep and full and the extension is just sweet and the decay is really satisfying. The highs are said (by some) to be veiled but my ears do not agree - I get the full highs without the uncomfortable sound that some headphones give. Cymbals and high-hats sound great and I can listen to them all day. Vocals are just right there as if Norah Jones is whispering into my ears .... a bit like being in the first row at a sit-down concert. I was trying to explain the difference to my wife and to my daughter and I came up with this ... these headphones do not make other headphones sound bad .... they change the way you experience the music. I have found myself listening to more of my music and listening to the whole track and then the whole album with a real interest. Not just music washing over me, which is great anyway, but my brain is interested in every note and sound. I can make out the 'th' sound from the 'f' sound and hear the finger clicks and the number of hands which are doing the clapping ... and all this without being fatigued. The HD598SE are great and I enjoyed them a lot - I have a number of headphones but realised that they were all closed back (The B&O H6 are closed but sound quite open and have quite good sound stage... but closed none-the-less). I was planning to listen to the HD650 and if they were too warm I was going to return them and get the HD600. I found that I love the warm and beautiful enveloping sound. I enjoy music more with it from classical to Deep-House. I have more clean and uncoloured cans, but while the HD958SE (very similar to the HD599) made my listening experience pretty, these HD650s make my music listening experience beautiful. Hope this helps. Loved your review - helped me a lot.

@@TheNitpicker Thank you for the reply. Actually I ordered a pair of JBL c100si earphones but I noticed a significant drop in volume levels as compared to very cheap local earphones. Yesterday morning I ordered Sennheiser HD450 BT's but I had to cancel the order by afternoon because I came across a comment that said they weren't loud enough, which is why I am considering buying these wired ones, so it is important for me to know whether they are "loud enough", I absolutely don't like any cap on max volume.
I need help. I can not for the life of me decide between 569 and 599. I will use it mostly with iphone, and comfort is the most important aspect for me, so 569 seems like an obvious choice. But I do not want to miss out on sound quality. Since I do not plan to use an amplifier, will 569 sound better due to lower impedance? Powerful, but clean bass is a must for me.
There are lots of reviews saying 599 works just fine with mobile devices, but I can't find any comparison between these headphones when mobile source is used. If they perform similarly, I'd rather go with 599 and have the option to upgrade to better source later without having to also buy new headphones.
Are you talking about the locking mechanism on the earcups? I thought you meant the plug taut. goes into devices. Because the one on the cups is not standard due to the lock as you said, you might find others working but it won't be easy
fyi for anyone who might be wondering about cords, like this commenter, audio technica ath m40x cords work with the lock system on my hd558. Not sure if all seinheiser models can share cords, but if they do, these will also work.
What exactly does that tell us now? Although I don't even remember either of them much if at all anymore. Zeos talks a lot, that much I know lol. But back then I didn't have much experience yet, I wouldn't put to much trust in it, maybe, idk

I've heard alot of good things about the Cloud II aswell but the design and that huge mic are just not my cup of tea, thank you for the reply though! I guessed you'd say the ATH-M50x but I think everyone hates it by now.
How do they stack up in terms of loudness?
I need them to go as loud as they can when required.
Loudness isn't limited by the headphones but the amp, they are all very similar though
HD 559: 108dBSPL
HD 569: 115 dBSPL
HD 579: 106 dBSPL
HD 599: 106 dBSPL
I am sorry but my English is not so perfect. Could somebody help me? What did he said which one has the best bass? please help me a bit... thx
579
and 569 as well - they have good bass he said
The ivory and brown looks premium, and smexy
like Noctua fans :)
Damir Franc
I've decided to get hd 599 and switch my smartphone to lg v20. No amplifiers, cables, and all that mess.
569 is closed, the other one is open.
0:00 yes!😂
so any 3.5 mm heapdhone jack works with the 579's??
Sure what else would there be
@@TheNitpicker maybe a senheiser certified i really dont know,i was confused cause it had a locking mechnism
569 doesn't come with an adapter.
Thanks man
Isent the 569 closed back?
Damir Franc thanks for the reply. Would they be decent without an amp/dac?
Guess what, zeos rated 559 better than all lol
What exactly does that tell us now? Although I don't even remember either of them much if at all anymore. Zeos talks a lot, that much I know lol. But back then I didn't have much experience yet, I wouldn't put to much trust in it, maybe, idk
@@TheNitpicker Exactly! I dont trust zeos as well and just watch it for entertainment
is he filming with an eye ball
What?
I guess u like 569 more mostly for the closed back that's why there is deep bass that I also love. But 599 have way better soundstage and immersion for me , I miss the deep bass but I think all the Open back headphones doesn't go deep in to bass.
Like u I love headphones and music and I use a lot of them depending my mood ,for now 599 for gaming on ps4 in home, B&W p9 for music on my dac , for sports I use bose soundsports and HD1 free. and for my office I use HD1 neckband. But I want your help for 1 Headphone that I cant find ... I want a low ohm OVER ear headphone for my Mobile phone Samsung s7 edge , I prefer open back and sound and warm sound I don't like Overbright highs like the Sennheiser Momentum for example , I am more on B&W sound but I guess I will lose the deep bass . Please with your XP on headphones recommend me 2 NONE wireless for my mobile . THANKS a lot .
@@Tripokaridos22 i bought hd 599 this week,, but soundstage doesn't seem to be good.
@@djsenr1761 compared to what ? HD599 have big soundstage i have them also read rtratings it shows there. But if u compare them with akg 7 series or fidelio series or beyer serues then yeah they dont... Compared to others they sound big. Did u let them play some time first for the mebranes to extend ?
@@djsenr1761 Compared to closed backs HD599 specifically have huge soundstage and u must feel it from day one. What amp dac unuse them ? And what games or music or movies ? Are u shure have good quality dac amp ?
@@Tripokaridos22 I don't have a separate dac, i use my phone and laptops inbuilt system (which might not be good), the volume is more than sufficient. I have read reviews where it said that the headphones are very easy to drive.
Wouldn't the soundstage be wide, eventhough i am not using a dac? Would a dac dramatically increase soundstage and quality for hd 599? If so please suggest me a cheap dac. Thank you
579 discontinued now, but you can find them on ebay for $100
I bought the Sennheiser HD 559, but maybe was not for me,
Alexander Enriquez Arroyo Do you still have them? you do not like them?
Are you related to the terminator?
Very confusing. So what is the #1? Please summarize at the end with list in proper order.
Thanks for your prompt reply. Still it would be nice to get your rating from your perspective. Ex. No 1 for Rock and Roll Listening is .... according to your taste

What about the 598?
No problem. Cheers!
569 has best bass
most doesn't mean best
@@TheNitpicker ?
the punch is not quite as punchy.
why tf are they doing these numbers so similar to one another? i dont get it. and which ones i should get for music in my mp3 lol?
yeah they look pretty nice
by the way have you already done a review on the conceptronic wireless headphones?
Damir Franc :) they are pretty loud and the sound quality doesn't even suffers a lot , the design is beautiful but of course I'd love to hear an opinion from a professional
just Google it they'll probably show up
