    I always believe in simultaneously paying down debt and budget for investing. When I write my budget out I include savings.

    I’m about halfway through and it’s good but it could be better. I wish she talked more about the technical aspects of trading.
    Also it seems like y’all were talking about two different things. She was advocating for “practicing”. But why? She must have been talking about trading individual stocks rather than investing in mutual funds or ETFs, which you would advocate.

    What about tax liability with investing in the stock market? I have always wanted to start investing but dont want the risk of having to pay high taxes

    • @Clevergirlfinance
      @Clevergirlfinance  7 лет назад +3

      Great question - you definitely need to have a plan for taxes based on what you estimate your tax bracket might be based on your annual withdrawals in the future.

      You could also do a roth IRA instead. For a roth IRA, you put in money that has already been taxed so you don't have to pay taxes when you take money out (unless you put in more than the max each year or take out more money than you put in before you turn 59 1/2). With a roth IRA you can also take out as much as you put in (but not what was gained) at any age without penalty.

    • @Clevergirlfinance
      @Clevergirlfinance  Год назад

      Well done for reducing your debt. There is nothing wrong with having a 9-5. If you love what you do, don't trade it. You will be surprised to find out how smart you are, when you put yourself to the challenge.

      Yes! Specifically as it applies to women. I've heard him TELL a single working mom trying to get away from a dv situation to basically leave her kids alone & 'just get another job'...totally irresponsible.
      Talking what I KNOW.
      I'm starting this channel from the beginning and although I've been good w saving & recovering from situations and starting over w money, I can always do better.
      ~Thanks Bola! Great content
