Yes, Bowser...a.k.a. John Bowman. He was the bass singer and frontman for their TV show. He'd end every ep with "Good night, and grease for peace" before the group sang "Goodnight Sweetheart".
I went to a very conservative Catholic girls' high school, but there were guys like this in my neighborhood. I thought they were very tough and brave and they scared me.
I used to watch this show with my dad all the time when I was little. I loved it then and love it now. I haven't seen a Green Machine (the things they were riding) since 1978.Thanks for all the memories.
I find it odd that the director decided NOT to focus the camera on Bowser at the point in the chorus where they turn around and point to "an eagle on the back" since his was the only black leather jacket with an actual eagle on the back!

Leather 'n Levi's Night at the local errrrr "men's club" ? :)
I wish they would bring this show back to one of the retro stations. It's clean, it's funny and you don't have to worry about the song lyrics.
Wasn't one of thouse guy's named "Bowser"? The '70's were so long ago, but I loved Sha-Na-Na!
Bowser rember me l wore the browser is beautiful shirt

@@dgkesquire I was about 5 when this aired, but yet I still remember a lot of it. Good times!
It can't get any worse than this! Excellent!!
We was always upstairs in time for the show. Sitting right in front of the TV on the floor. I would still watch them till this day.
One of the few memories I have of my late father was watching "Sha Na Na" with him.

I'm 68 but I don't remember hearing this song as a kid. The guys did a great job of it as always. Funny, too. lol
Bert Convey was one of the singer in the original version.
@@jb888888888 Ahh I didn't know that. Kind of like Chuck Woolery who was also a singer in the early days. Thank you :o)
I remember this one! Love it even more now. The guys sure look good.
I love these guys! This number is especially cool!

HEY NO FAIR, YOU CUT OUT JOCKO!!!!! :( :( :(
Thunderbirds, eat your hearts out!
E. Piaf en a signé une adaptation inapprochable et définitive !
Super cool amundo version of this song.
MY SON IN LAW AND DAUGHTER
I wasn't a huge fan of Sha Na Na but I really enjoyed this skit of the old 'Cheers' classic....
Leiber and Stoller night: if James Durbin knows about this song, he will surely sing it for American Idol fans Wednesday night.
Yeah the hot one with the deep voice ^^
When Bowzer sings with his fake accent, he sounds like Adam Sandler's Opera Man.
Bowzer was classically trained at Julliard. He could have been a real opera singer, but doo wop and comedy are a lot more fun.
@@OofusTwillip I thought he went to Columbia. That's where Sha Na Na got together

Cringeworthy corny.
