Was lucky enough to drive and fire that loco on this journey several times. Pitch dark mid winter in the frost and sunrise in fresh snow. British enthusiast Howard Jones kept this service running for 30 years longer than PKP wanted until his death this year. They should make a film about this remarkable man. I never thought I would drive a proper steam train but thanks to Howard I did, several times and got quite good at it, and firing (actually more challenging).

Well, Wolsztyn organizes parades and trips on such Ok1, Ty, or Pt's. It happens almost yearly, and it's a rather fun event to be at

I suspect the students and locals don't care whether its a steam engine diesel multiple unite etc, its a means to getting to school work etc. But its nice to see a kettle in the 21st century.

Now in Wolsztyn, there's no working steam locomotives and 6 are being repaired or in a different way prepared for work. So now there's no kettles working, and soon there wll be six at once. Instead of repairing one after one to keep at least one working loco, they're doing everything at once. Yaaay Poland! It's so Polish. When Poland is at war, it's at war with everyone around instead of choozing one country to fight with and have any chance of wining.
