Thank you for watching, did you know these piano sonatas? Let us know what you think! Tracklist: Dukas: Piano Sonata in E-Flat Minor (Vincenzo Maltempo): 0:00:00 I. Modérément Vite 0:11:16 II. Calme, un peu lent, très Soutenu 0:22:47 III. Vivement, avec Légèreté 0:32:11 IV. Très Lent-Animé Dutilleux: Piano Sonata (Vittoria Quartararo): 0:46:02 I. Allegro Con Moto 0:53:50 II. Lied 1:00:20 III. Choral Et Variations
Both great pieces. Dutilleux' wife was a highly regarded pianist & recorded the sonata more than once. I love Dutilleux. The Dukas, like everything he published, is a wonderful post romantic/post-impressionist masterpiece.
I know of Dukas and am a big fan. Dutilleux however is not known to me but I like what I am hearing. There is an interesting brooding quality about I. Modérément Vite and the Calme, un peu lent, très Soutenu is totally engaging! Thanks BC!
try again just as an example do you own the oop ginastera cd ? I do i learned about the dukas from reading a book of piano soloists I learned of dutilleux from my violin studies and the repertiore of isaac stern then explored his piano music much later let's talk about carl vine, and elliot carter, ives, copeland, hindemith, poulenc, szymanowsky, bartok, penderecki, I again ask what does that make you ?
