    • @Nicse4s
      @Nicse4s 4 года назад +3

      @@keetonmitchell4669 As I mentioned previously, taught Archery at a BSA summer camp for a few years and the badge goes over some of these sorts of things. So if you watch any slow motion video of someone shooting an arrow, they actually all flex like that, although you don't see it as often, or as extreme, unless you have some serious poundage in the bow you are shooting. The flexing actually helps keep the arrow stable while it is flying because the force from the string isn't always right down the spine of the arrow, so if they didn't flex like that they would just hook to one side or the other after being shot. Again though, the amount of flex that arrow had from the weight was a bit excessive to cause the flexing to last as long as it did.

    • @keetonmitchell4669
      @keetonmitchell4669 4 года назад +1

      @@Nicse4s I'm aware that arrows flex, and the purpose it serves (not meant to be a confrontational comeback, just want to be clear I'm not a complete novice). While I'm limited in how much practice I can get, the physics of archery (among other similar things) has always been really intriguing to me. Seen some great videos about the archers paradox and different draw/release methods. It was mainly how much these particular arrows were flexing that caused me concern. Under normal circumstances I would have expected maybe only 60% of the flex we were seeing in those arrows.

    Hey Brian, that first shot was actually a really good shot. I've got that same bow too, it's pretty sweet. Lemme say this though: if you ever do another archery video, just put your 3 long fingers right below the arrow, and it's way better shooting. Otherwise the string pinches your top finger and that kinda messes the shot up. That's the only thing that's holding your power back, I know you're an archery God at heart.

    okay, Brian, first off, you are only just barely pulling the bow back halfway, you need to pull the string back to where your ear and jaw meet for a complete draw. if you started actually drawing the bow completely, you might just find out you are actually better than you thought you were.

      At least they didn't draw that far when they stupidly dry fired it

    Just because I'm always checking, theres been a lot of titles recently that have words starting with a lowercase letter..... going to check to see if anything comes from that.

    So the way I saw this working was more the way a tranquilizer dart works: inert on firing and then activating on impact. Either firing a fire arrow with a small flame that the paper pushes up to either in flight or on impact, or possibly, again like the dart, some kind of chemical reaction that is activated and dispersed on impact.

    should've just made white phosphorous grenades,take the striker from matches(red phosphorous) and burn it on a plate you just took out of the freezer,that brown residue is white phosphorous,any friction will cause ignition or "smoke" that is actually phosphoric acid vapor
