Them red dog babies are so cute ! ❤❤ Got you hands full this year.😅
Thank you so much for showing Dunbar (my favorite) again...I missed seeing him! He's looking very healthy. I'm happy Eleanor is with him too, another of my favorites! I look forward to your videos every week...they definitely are the best out there on youtube. My family think I'm nuts because I talk about Dunbar, Eleanor and Big Joe all the time, lol but thats ok...they and the herd are the best! 🥰 ❤️🦬🦬🦬❤️
No ☝️ really says I am nuts but I can tell that I can get on a few ppls nerves. I have several channels that I subscribe to.
If anyone would rather watch fables, I say, nothin! Even though some ppl enjoy story books, personally I prefer real life. 😅
Most ppl enjoy 😉 a moment of make believe. I even think it’s good for stress relief. But the ☝️ single thing I enjoy watching is real life.
* just saying 😊
Thank you for showing Dunbar!!!! I miss seeing him all the time. He is my favorite! Thank you for loving them so much!!
Baby bison are called "red dogs" because of their orange-red fur when they are born in late March through May. Their hair turns darker brown after a few months, and they develop their shoulder hump and horns.

15 Facts About Our National Mammal: The American Bison - DOI.gov
5. What's a “red dog”? It's a baby bison. Bison calves tend to be born from late March through May and are orange-red in color, earning them the nickname “red dogs.” After a few months, their hair starts to change to dark brown and their characteristic shoulder hump and horns begin to grow.
Bison calves are the first young animals to appear, and they can follow their mothers within two hours of birth. They start eating grass at one month, and nurse for nine months.
Here are some other facts about bison:
Size: Female bison can weigh up to 1,000 pounds, while bulls can weigh up to 2,000 pounds.
Lifespan: A wild bison can live up to 25 years.
Speed: Bison can run faster than horses.
Horns: Both male and female bison grow horns.
Snow removal: Bison can use their heads to "plow snow".
Yellowstone is the only place in the lower 48 where bison have lived continuously since prehistoric times.

Per Google, just now!!!
Thank you! I've asked a few times and finally here's an answer!!!
Did someone ask for this?
I'm I'm native American and yes you are right we call them red dogs
@@MontanaThompsons
Dusty asked if anybody could confirm the name of the red dogs, and they were able to let him and others know that Dusty was on point 👍🏼
Look at all-l-l-lll the babies! Beautiful!
How many red dogs do you have this year?
That's awesome. I come from the Siksika Blackfoot tribe.
What tribe are you from?
Looks like a "day care center" with all them babies!! So cute...
Hi Dusty ,Marissa and Brooks Love watching your videos. Bison are magnificent animals. You can tell how much yall love what you do Dunbar will always be my favorite Love seeing all the Red Dogs. I wouldn't want to be in your shoes when you have to sell some of the herd. God bless and love yall ❤❤
I love how the Mamma's talk to their babies
It's cool to hear the different vocalizing between the mommas and the babies.
Those babies are big and healthy❤.
Big Joe is not worried about those cows. He said, I made the babies I'm not raising them. I'm going to eat all this grass to make more babies this fall.
Dusty did you dip those Turkey s beaks in the water .Looking good all those babies ❤
😂😂😂😂
Did you not listen to dusty when he said that they are dumbar babies. Or did you miss that.
Big Joe must know he's got to protect them from predators. That's his job, too!
Dunbar looks huge
I thought the same thing - Wow Dunbar 😅
Holy crow!!! Your herd is expanding fast.
Look at all the red dogs! And turkeys too!
They are gaining their spring weight and looking good.
Wow Dunbar looks like he doubled in size! He is huge.
Big ole’ Boy 🦬
Isn't he just gorgeous? 🥰
Agreed
What beautiful bison specimens and all those pretty babies! Congratulations! What fun!
Your question to that rooster: Why do you always do that when people turn their backs? My answer is: Because he's 'a chicken".😅😅😅😅
Love Eleanor and felt sorry for her when she lost her RED DOG. More than when others lost them.
Just the same felt for Dumbar when he had eye problem. Thank You so much Dusty Marrissa & Brooks for sharing your Bison with us Love it.
I loved this video! Was great to see such a wide array of animals and activities going on. Hugs and prayers to you, your family, and the animals too!
Dunbar is THE man!! And I just love all the babies! I can see your herds are happy and healthy. ❤❤❤ ✌️
Farmer Tyler says his cows group together the same way... Mama's with newborns and everyone else. 💖🌞🌵😷
Chad Doss calls cows ready to have calves, calf launchers. I think that's so funny. I love these big animals. They're beautiful. You always do a great job with them.
I don’t think I have ever seen a cow launch a calf.
Gotta love all them babies! 😍😍
Oh look at all of those beautiful little babies, it’s a red dog explosion, I was worried when you didn’t see Big Joe with the herd, relieved when you found him, and Cora is so pretty, and seeing Brooks holding the turkey chick just melts my heart, she is so gentle and understanding of the animals around her, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Congrats on all the new red dogs! Turkeys... I was going to guess pheasants and grouse. Hopefully you have a jake and a pair of hens there.
Native Americans did not want to kill all of the Bison. They knew if they saw a "red dog" that it was not a wolf or preditor . They took care of the Bison because they depended on them.
How do you determine the parentage of cows you purchase that are pregnant?
Love what you are doing! It would really be nice if you said what the babies are, boys or girls! How many of each do you have so far? Interested viewers want to know!
If you want to know you can go there and lift up their tails. If you're brave enough, you can tell us LO.L
They are big rugged beasts of history. The red dogs are adorable. One cow starts the birth time and others follow. I love your videos. Springtime is the best time.😂❤
All the baby bison are so cute and healthy looking. Everybody looks happy and content in their pasture. Interesting that babies are born reddish color and change darker as get older.
Polish roosters can get mean! Hopefully he won't attack Brooks. He could really hurt her with those spurs!
I Love seeing all your animals. The Bison are Beautiful with there Red dogs. Everything you touch is Blessed.❤️❤️
Isnt it interesting how delivered moms and expectant moms hang outbin separate groups !
Lol Big Joe is like," hey there too many kids over there, I want to eat in peace". So sad Eleanor is always alone. It's rough being low buffalo on the ranch.
Maybe she's a natural introvert and likes her privacy.😂
Wow, those little red dogs are everywhere!! So cute! Everything is looking good! Joe needed some alone time from the wives & kids😂
Horses lookin' good too! So happy for you, Marissa & sweet Brooks to have the life you have worked so hard to achieve! Gid bless!💜🙏💜
The Ponderosa and herd are looking stunning! How blessed you are to savor the sight of those red dog faces and proud momma bison gruffles! Your herd and land management skills are a spectacular display!! Love CTB and the Bakers🤗💗
❤ Great video, people dont realize, you can waste alot of money trouble shooting there lawn. Sunny is great, test your soil and fix the problem. Thanks for sharing. Watching from Sunny Florida.
BIG JOE❤❤❤ Iam with him on this one. Every once in a while you just need a break from all the friends and family and have some good ole quiet time alone. He truly is my spirit animal❤
Enjoyed watching y'all out with the bison. Glad all the Red Dogs are doing good. The turkey babies are so cute.. GOD bless y'all
Wow you herd is really expanding nicely!!
I LOVE RED DOG SEASON! My goodness! Everywhere you look there are red dogs. Best time of the year. My heart still hurts for Eleanor. I always looked forward to her calves cuz she always has a buddy. This year sucks. Glad she is with Dunbar herd for a while. Just less stress for her. Big Joe hiding out is a clear sign that he needed his own man cave time. lol. Love it.
I love seeing Dunbar. You have alot of red dogs on the farm love all the babies red dogs. ❤️🦬❤️🦬
I absolutely love the noise the bison make
I Love the sound als,My truck when I got it sounded just like a bison grumble, so I call my truck The White Bison
Dunbar is awesome ❤
Great to see all the milkweed for the Monarch butterflies
Nice seeing you have a great season with all the “ Red Dogs.” Considering last season you guys must be smiling from ear to ear. Nice work by the boys. We love these videos. 👏👏👏 I hope the town of Sulfur is recovering from the viscous tornado. Best of luck & prayers. 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸
Oh my Dusty .. So many RedDogs !!! And they are beautiful ! Love seeing all the new baby Turkeys . Big Joe is just chilling.. getting away from all those hormonal ladies and babies !! Thank You for sharing !!
That's so wonderful to see so many red dogs .so cute.
WOW, I thought maybe something was wrong, like the weather!!!!😂😂😂 Awesome, you found Big Joe😅😅😅😅.

Hoss 😂 is always trying to prove he's the man.
Dunbar is looking awesome!
Dusty and Marissa you have your hands full-a lot of new red dawgs! Taking care of Brooke and the bison, the horses the chickens, dogs and now baby turkeys-full plate! Kudos, you’re doing a great job!
Hello to y'all !! You sure do have a bunch of red dogs their all looking good and so healthy, and the mommas and daddy's too. I just love watching y'alls videos and seeing what y'all are doing on the ranch. How is the clean-up going from the tornadoes ? Prayin for the baby turkeys to thrive so we can see all of them. I've seen turkeys that are mostly white on another RUclips channel I follow. You might know who I'm talking about cause I think their right there in Oklahoma. Anyway, I've never seen white turkeys before I live in Indiana, and our turkeys here are the typical brown ones. Anyway, thank y'all for sharing this part of your life with us. Stay safe, and God bless y'all.
that looks like the maternity ward, with all the mums hanging out with their babies.
How is Dunbar's eye?
Marisa and Dusty I just love seeing the at least 8 in total red dogs you both have. It’s a joy cuz I remember one being born on the burn area. Oh how I wish I could visit y’all’s area so myself and my kids could learn more. I love wildlife and buffalos are so darn beautiful. Y’all are fucking amazing!
I also want to edit it how cute Brooks is with the little 🐥 she is so darn loving and gentle with it.
Love your videos. I went to Custer s.d. love seeing the bison & red dogs. Great place to visit.
Dusty, wow it’s amazing! The Bison all look so healthy as do the babies but also the pastures look amazing also.
Why is Dunbar still so shaggy? It's great to see a bunch of red dogs especially after last year.❤
As for Dunbar being shaggy--it takes a while to shed out the winter coat.
The Horses look great
Omg! Guys, I was looking at a two-headed bison at 0:02. I could've sworn to it. Lol. My eyes were definitely playing tricks on me. 😂😂😂😂 it was either that or thinking a bison head was coming up out of Dunbars poop shoot.
Big Joe is big and beautiful Dusty
All the red dogs are so cute ! The baby turkeys are awesome !
All the red dog baby's look magnificent thanks heaps from Ronnie 🎉🎉from Geelong Vic Australia 🎉🎉
Every time the Buffalo start having their babies I'm wondering if one day you'll be blessed with a white dog....buffalo female. I know they're very rare but it would be cool!
Hope you are all well down there guys
Spring has sprung !!! Congrats on all the red dogs . Hope the turkeys do well.
Awww 🥰 cute babies
Peaches 🍑 baby’s name should be Cream!
Thought the field was on fire 🔥😄😂. With all the red dogs 😂😂😂.. Wow you sure have a lot of babies.👍👍👍 Stay Blessed 😇🙏🙏🙏.
18:18 That's a huge spider 😮
We also have Tall Grass Prarie in Central Eastern Kansas! Love this grassland. Watching the bison is so much fun.
Great video of all the bison and red dogs! Lovely view from your house! 😊
Hello. I was just wondering if you could do a video on the herd you keep for the meat processing. Where you keep them, at what age they are ready to be processed etc. I'm not meaning for you to show us the animals being process, just the before and after if that would be the best way of wording it. I understand some viewers might not like it, but it's all part of your business and part of life.
I'm from Northern Ireland in the UK and love your channel as I was brought up around cattle but obviously we don't have bison here.
Thanks Steven.
Dusty ,big Joe looks magnificent you are doing a magnificent job ever with the heard ever🎉🎉🎉🎉thank heaps from Ronnie 🎉🎉from Geelong Vic Australia 🎉🎉
I believe Dunbar could take Big Joe this year!!! He's gotten massive!!! 😊
Another learning experience, enjoy watching you and your family, already in full swing of babies, Congratulations. You and your girls are doing a great job.Thank you for allowing me to watch your life. God bless ....
Super video! What a head increase you are having this year. You’re going to have to buy more land. Have a great day… be safe! ❤
😂 Brooks was so cute moving the baby trukey. They look great. Enjoy watching them grow. Love your videos. Time for a little broth or sister fir broks need children to pass that ranch to later in life. 😂. Gid Bles
That was hilarious about the chickens. Silky seemed like he was protecting you. My daughter and I laughed so hard when you said, there you go Silky that's what I'm talking about.
Please, do a little research on incubators and heaters because in the past few years there have been some major house and barn fires caused by them. If anyone can bring this to Dusty and Marrissa's attention, please share this with them because with a little caution (or a lot of caution), this hopefully can and will be avoidable. My Mom grew up in the late depression years and used to say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
I watched a RUclipsr showing his farm, somewhere in Pennsylvania devastated by fire caused by this. The farm was in his family for many generations. They lost so much that was passed down over the years.
I know that the tornado wreaked havoc in Sulphur, OK recently. I pray that the good people of Oklahoma are able to rebuild and get their homes, family, and town back. Also, I love to check in on the various RUclipsrs in your area, such as Dusty's brother in law, Daniel and his farm full of various creatures too (Is there something in the water there because there are an inordinate amount of popular RUclipsrs there?). Pass this information on to them, and everyone else too. Be well, y'all. Stay healthy, safe, and together.
13:38... They are so darn cute!
Dear Dusty and family include mama your stepdad and ask your brothers family and again I am so proud of you all you deserve a great big big thanks what you do every day and just to preserve this majestic animals it’s heartbreaking to see when you suffering and losing one of them or something goes wrong and you get frustrated it’s not easy job but you are tackling each time it’s so rewarding to see it does good to our heart that this people are out thereLike you I’m so glad the tornado is behind all of you now hopefully the rebuilding could start soon and everything going to be forgotten for a while I mean you never forget it just put it on the back burner in your mind,,, remember he’s in charge and he’s always watching all over all of us,, I was wondering if you could lend Mr. hops out as a stud animal and make money with him like that and meantime you don’t have to deal with his temper tantrum I wish you could keep your animals pure bloodline with big Joe and all of them they seem so calm and relaxed animals and they always seems to listen to you all you have to do is raise your arm and they know what you mean You have such knowledge and talent for raising this majestic animals were such a young age it’s so wonderful to see wish you lots of lots of success and much happiness love Kaitlyn❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I wish you could Pack Mr. Hoss and sent him on his way I would’ve done it long time ago you have such patience and kindness please keep up the good work and keep smiling😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Dusty, What’s your cap of land vs head?
Dusty you don't think phoenix was born and ash because she was trying to mother was trying to cover the scent of the birth from predators. Maybe that would you know?Santa baby has been part of the burn unit and you know coyotes and stuff wouldn't be able to smell them??...
Wow! Congratulations on all the beautiful red dogs!! Such a beautiful sight to see all the Mommas and their calves. There are so many!!! All the bison are really looking good. I am so happy to see Dunbar and Eleanor!! ❤🦬❤️🦬❤️ Hoss, you big goof! Big Joe! Belle Starr and Phoenix!
Hey Dusty, where is Nora? Eleanor's 2nd calf. How is she doing???
The U.S. National Parks call the babies "RedDogs."
Big Joe said hey I'm off duty. It's baby birthin season, not baby makin time...lol
Ok...new name for you place....drum roll....FERTILE FARM!! 🤭😊
I just love you and your wife's attitude. Happy, smile and ready to show us something new. God bless you , the animals and your homestead.
Great soil product! 😂👍 wow, that's a lot of red dogs! Looks Elenor has her little slice of heaven right there. Thanks for another wonderful video!
The red dogs look so sweet. Have a great week
Is there a way of putting electronic tracking devices to make them easier to identify and track? If you can track luggage, why not animals?
My video quality seems really pixelated. At 3:19 it even looks like a red dog walks through another one. I've replayed it, changed my quality to the highest and a lot of it just seems fuzzy or glitchy. Is it just my device or are others seeing it too?
You so correct about the trem Red Dog.
What will you do with all the calves. Will your property provide enough feed?
Some calves are kept back for future breeding stock. The rest are sold--either to start new herds, or to the sales barn.
Your so right Native American did call them red dogs!!
Hi Dusty, i like big Joe a lot
Lots of red dogs beautiful
Big joe having bit of peace away from all them kids lol
