Guerin was so generous with his time and expertise to do these videos with you! He's such a good guy, and to be able to tap his brain for all those tips was very helpful and totally cool. His idea of treating each putt as you would a chip shot, varying one's stroke, etc., is a real eye opener. That totally changes my view of how to play on the green. Thanks Guerin!!
Agreed, let the man talk. I understand your need to get your thought out, but you should really work on letting the speaker speak. Specially when a legend is teaching!
I'm a mallet guy, I've been mulling over whether I should switch from my Scotty Golo5 to the ER7, and you're absolutely right. I guess I didn't love the way it looked in stock photos but seeing it in 1080p it is a gorgeous putter.
Been working on my putting stroke. The putter-head wanted to move WAY outside the line in the backstroke. To anyone watching, the stroke flat-out looked horrible and the missed putts worse. One goes left, the next right. So I watch this video. At the 4:00 minute mark Mr. Rife talked about heel-up at address. He said Stricker does this. Tried it out on the practice green. Stood a little closer, arched the left wrist with the heel slightly up. I'll be damned, without any conscious effort, the putter-head moves either straight or just inside the line going back, putts roll dead straight. The question then was, will it actually work in play? It does...nine holes, three one-putts, the rest two-putts. Curiously, In one of Hank Haney's books he says never putt with the heel up. That advice will be ignored for now....
Brendan. Your channel is great. Getting better and better every day. I've said it before, look up Geoff Mangum. He literally turned me into the best putter in my two different clubs. If you could somehow land an interview it would be amazing. Honestly though, he knows the putting game through and through. The worlds foremost expert.
I appreciate you taking us on your adventure this year. Bobby Lopez "stay onside", Tony Luzak , flamingo drill. Mike Malaska "train your hands and arms to swing the club". Monte, great turn around at the long beach open. Like watching the young aspiring pros you vlog about. Good content B. Please keep it going!!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family and a happy and better golfing year in 2017 !!!!
According to an old Rife Tour rep , they source their velvet from Joanns, so I would just check out any fabric store and look for some of the pricier velvets ($15+/yd). Bring a golf ball :). On a side note , that heel up advice for shorter putts is awesome actually all his general tips on putting near the end are pretty great.
Brenden, great video with Guerin. I spend almost 3 hours with Travis and Guerin last Thursday at the studio and was fit into an ER2 as well.. Guerin is the nicest guy for being such a legend in the game. I brought up your name to Guerin about this video and how you hit 2 out of 10 balls on the center of the magnet putter so he had me try it and I actually got 6 out of 10!!! I was shocked too.. Granted I'm a +1 golfer but putting is putting... Keep up the entertaining videos... Maybe we could tee it up sometime, I live in OC as well...
Its crazy. In the service when we are shooting and getting our "natural point of aim" closing our eyes is the way we do it. never thought it could relate to putting
This is the best golf video I have ever seen - full stop! It's always range range range and generally you never think about getting fitted for your putter and that is going to be the single used club in the bag - duhhh! So I am definitely off to the guys at Precision Golf and see what they can do - ER 2 looks awesome - thanks for the video excellent!
I could listen to Guerin all day long the guy is the putter guru , I have the 1.2 and I have never putted better , I have owned or tried everything almost , you know he guy that comes into a store and putts for 1/2 hour or more ,yup that was me , I used to sometimes 3 putt on longer putts and since I have had my 1.2 I can’t remember the last time . I will say initially I was leaving putts short , I had to get used to the face feel for distance , once that I got used to it I just can’t say enough about these putters even if your offline your just a tap in sideways , unbelievable I will never swap my putter out again.
Brendon, Great video with Mr Rife! - What are the specs of your new putter (Length, Overall Weight, Swingweight, Counter-Balance Weight, Lie-Angle, Loft)?
Btw, you were 100% correct. Jack Nicklaus was 100% left eye dominant. Most cut players are. Magnum has studied all that stuff. Spatial orientation, brain-eye interface, physiology, the whole gamut. Good call on that left eye dominant though.
Great video. I will be checking out EVNROLL and also plan a fitting with Edel. Mr Rife give amazing explanation of putter equipment theory. @ 17:00 it looks like you have a slightly closed stance. Which may have also explained why your ball went right during the closed eye drill.
Hi Brendon, great array of videos you've been doing with Bobby, Malaska, the guys from mygolfspy etc. This video with Guerin about how to approach putting is awesome. So if someone is right eye dominant one should stand "open" to the line, so going on Guerin's logic, one would assume the if your left eye dominant one should stand closed to the line, correct? I'm going to try that when I get home today. I'm left eye dominant and I tend to pull my putts. It's not the putter, I've been fit and have length, lie, head weight and loft specked out to me. Keep up the good work!
Interesting chat. Just a question tho... if you pronate and lift the heel up, the lines in the putter are Effectively twisted. Will this not Affect the ball roll?
Why is there a designed-in angle between the head and the shaft on every putter I've ever seen? Surely, in the interests of keeping the head square as Steve Stricker does we should all be using short putters with no angle?
Putting is an anomaly in the world of golf instruction... There is no right or wrong way to make putts, and the method used and alignment is entirely dependent on the player. There may be some fundamentals, but if left to their own common sense, the vast majority of players figure it out on their own. I think the worst thing I ever did was take advice from a pro on putting, totally destroyed a functional stroke, goodbye pace control, goodbye alignment, goodbye reading a break. Putter fitting and weighting is an even bigger joke, most players could putt with anything, a wedge, a driver, a shovel from their shed... garden edgers etc. I mean no disrespect, but all this dedication to something that comes from the player, not an instructed technique. I know many pros, and I know very few good putters. I know adequate putters... but very few 'good' putters. Of the players I know who can putt well, not a single one of them follows the common trends and techniques being shown by professionals to be an optimal putting stroke. Some stand tall, some squat down, some have a 90* spine angle to the ground, some are tilted away from the target, and even in some cases so drastic between the two that they appear to be judging their line while putting. It is all how the players vectors line up, and how their body controls the clubface best. The best putters are often, in my experience, the ones who seem to have their own ideas, and here I am looking for advice on youtube again... when I should just trust my stroke. Even now while writing this I am practicing with a new putter, and realizing that my vectors set my alignment up to the right to hit a straight putt. Its personal, don't ever let somebody get in your head. Play your stroke.

Great video again! BUT you often interrupt your host/guest when I sense they are going into an interesting thought.
Agreed, let the man talk. I understand your need to get your thought out, but you should really work on letting the speaker speak. Specially when a legend is teaching!
Agreed. You try to clarify the point for us (or perhaps yourself) but it is distracting.
Agreed. Credit to Guerin for finishing his train of thought with the interruptions.

100% right. When it comes to reading greens there is no one better

Brendon, Great video with Mr Rife! - What are the specs of your new putter (Length, Overall Weight, Swingweight, Counter-Balance Weight, Lie-Angle, Loft)?
RollYourRock A
Fantastic piece, Brendan. I've been playing with a Rife 2Bar mallet for a few years now. Best putter I ever owned.
Btw, you were 100% correct. Jack Nicklaus was 100% left eye dominant. Most cut players are.
Magnum has studied all that stuff. Spatial orientation, brain-eye interface, physiology, the whole gamut. Good call on that left eye dominant though.
Very good! I enjoyed the insight!

The crown moulding at the ceiling was installed upside down.
Closest location for a fitting
I'm in Southwest Florida?
Wonderful info
Love it Wheres is his place in England because that,s one dear fit for me to fly out for a day .??
There are a number of Evnroll distributers in UK. I'm sure you'll find something in Google, Bing etc.

Excellent video and content! Can you give me the name of the tool that shows the ball roll?
Does slight delofting and slight upswing matter? Can I get a straight roll without worrying about these dynamics during my putting stroke?
What's the name in that roll board and is it damp to show your skid pattern?
MD 18undapar roll board. Gudrun invented it. It isn't wet. You.can check it out on www.evnroll.com
I really want to know what that may name is and if you can buy one.
Why is there a designed-in angle between the head and the shaft on every putter I've ever seen? Surely, in the interests of keeping the head square as Steve Stricker does we should all be using short putters with no angle?
Sweet putters... quality all the way...
Great stuff presented. Wish you wore a mic -- sound is barely okay, like the mic is far away.
Just watched your video. Sir your a revelation
Awesome video! Thank you!
What if you don't hit it off center
Can anyone shed some light on the board they were using to track ball path and center/off-center hits? Thanks
What do you call that putting apparatus that they are using? The one that lets you examine the ball path and roll.
+Tartan roll board, Guerin invented it I think. Evnroll.com
thanks! I googled it and found some at decent prices.
Where do you get the roll mat ? I've heard them called "dew mats" as well. But don't see anyone selling them. eyeline dc'd theirs
It is called a Dew board I think they sell it on the Evnroll website
@@BEBETTERGOLF Wow I don't know how i missed it on thier site. Thanks !
Should have told him to tuck his shirt in before videoing..jeez louise lol
Get fitted lol As a lefty they sell you the one they have in stock...
I was thinking the same thing. We get to test out the 10 total putters they have in stock. I got lucky I found these in lefty and they are awesome!
Personally think these perform better than Scottys but the clout Scotty has is hard to beat.
Fantastic info!...really interesting.
awesome
Where can I find a board like the one in the video for the ball roll?
Thanks, btw great video.
nice
Jack is left eye dominant
But that didn't help prove his point, so Jack is now right eye dominant... lol
What were you standing on when putting on the roll board?

Nicklaus left eye dominant sorry
Please let the person you are visiting speak - you talk far too much

Excellent content. Well done.
