Tbh, I do like Julia's side more but her boyfriend's is more realistic making it look just a bit more professional. Overall, they're both rlly good!
I mean, making something realistic doesn't always mean professional, it's really about the skill, but I see where your coming from.

I love both. The colorscheme of teal and pink on the left is so appealing to me personally, and the one on the right looks so illustrative. But here's some critique:
This color background on the girlfriend's side clashes with the outfit so much. It's busy and high-contrasting, because of it and how similar it is in hue with the bows and jacket, it doesn't help those parts stand out. If you made the background more solid, - maybe by choosing a darker shade for the details or going over it to dull it out, - then it would be better.
Also, - and I stress that this might be just my opinion, - I'm not sure about the green in the character's eye on the left and on the shirt on the right. Idk why, maybe there just wasn't enough of it to look balanced.
But other than this, I think, both sides are made quite beautifully in their own respective art-styles.

They are both so daggone good!! There is so much dimension to Julia’s work. I love the color and contrast in her boyfriend’s work and the face is so soft and pretty. I think I like the boyfriend’s side better but that’s not to downplay how successful her side is too. I can do neither 😂

Both of them each have their own art styles so it is hard to choose my reasons are Julia’s side is more like cleaner and a tiny bit darker in general but the boyfriends side has more of a shine and glow and like more color so it’s pretty hard to choose which is better but again both are amazing!!
