I am glad now there is a non-partisan physician platform to find out the truth about what contribute to death in COVID positive patients. I am a board certified in internal medicine and emergency medicine. I have been concerned about the potential confusion in sorting out facts from wrong information. I have been concerned that many people die from other diseases and their cause of death is erroneous attributed to COVID. I do not work in the ICU. Could it be the case that some patients who have other diseases such as psittacosis, Legionnaires disease, ARDS, asthma exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, sarcoidosis, RMSF, and so on might have died because treating physicians assumed that the these patients were suffering from COVID because the test for it turned positive? My understanding is that the COVID tests are not uniform ,and although sensitive, are not specific. Furthermore, COVID is a corona virus, one of several common cold viruses. Months before news of people dying in NYC, articles came out China and Harvard recommending the the restrictions of the nebulization of bronchodilators and use of systemic steroids. I wonder how many people died from exacerbation of asthma/COPD. I wonder how many people die with COVID and not die from COVID. If I show up to a famous ER tomorrow with psittacosis or pneumonic tularemia, and have a positive COVID test , I wonder if they would diagnosis my true disease and treat it, or just let me die with /from COVID.

My husband had a fungal infection in his sinus, then one day he was falling down and not able to breathe. I took him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with covid. Hes a diabetic...was. He died 31 days later. Also they found a mass in his brain. Life is fragile, I miss him so much.
My dad just passed June 21, he broke his hip back in March and we found out on a Wednesday that he was in stage 4 bone cancer turned rapidly into lymphoma he died on Monday five days later. With deepest sympathy and prayers for your family.

Yes. When your immune system is down, you are more lekely to be subject to everyday infections. We saw a spate in New Zealand with fasciitis post swine flu. My hypothesis only, but there appeared a lay man's intuitive significant link.

Horrifying, traumatic and tragic. It was helpful and important that this doctor described the causes. Health care costs and an overwhelmed system seem to be at issue. Why else would there be sterility problems. The diabetes thing too, which is why I quit sugar. I was nearing Diabetes Type II when I heard on the news that high blood sugar makes people more susceptible.

Years ago my dad was in the hospital that was under renovation. The fungus and mole in the ductwork was in the air. My dad had emphysema and this fungus got into the damaged parts of his lungs. They called it aspergillosis. Very difficult to cure. He survived but this wouldn’t have affected him but for his stressed immune system.

Some can just get debridement if they have money. amputation is the cheapest way to do it. But if you can afford to save your leg debridement is better.

@De Sign It's a defense mechanism to deal with all the pain & suffering, a way to adapt, the little click in the brain that turns off emotion & deals only with the problems at hand, it happens to everyone who deals with such issues on a daily or frequent basis, doctors, nurses, EMT's, military, law enforcement, firefighters, caregivers, even family members who must learn to care for a loved one & do things that they never thought that they could, all must learn to remove emotion from the situation. They deal with all the emotion later, while alone. This is why so many people turn to alcohol &/or drugs, or obsessive exercise or become adrenaline junkies who engage in dangerous activities & sports, they need to redirect the energy, or numb themselves. I know plenty of people who appear chill & emotionless in public, but have anxiety attacks, flashbacks, horrific nightmares, act out their dreams, hand tremors, drink themselves into a stupor, get high, or turn to harder drugs just to deal, because even the hardest hearted of people have a breaking point.
You're right. Many are now suffering from PTSD. They are finding it difficult to be compassionate because most of the patients now are unvaccinated. They are angry from having to risk their lives and their family's to care for those that have been arrogant enough to believe they were smarter than people that studied viruses for more than 30 years and refused vaccination. I feel very sorry for them. And glad I am not working right now.
I read about this disease years ago and was comforted in how rare infections were. Somehow not surprising seeing it come into the news via the worst man-made medical catastrophe in human history.
I had Mucormycosis in my lungs from moldy hay 22 years ago. Had to get all the mold cut out. I had diabetes and didn't know it, so it had cut down my immune system and allowed the mold to grow. I had 5 puss pockets (2 in right lung and 3 in the left) that had to be drained and that's how they detected the Mucormycosis. Spent 4 months in hospitals. Been on disability since. Thoracic surgeon, Kemp Kernstine, did an amazing job taking care of me. I was on Ampho "terrible" for a month. Thankfully, I was on a morphine drip and never had any pain during the treatments.

Several years back I had fungus in my sinuses cuz I had chronic sinus disease and how I stopped a lot of that I started rinsing my sinuses with distilled water and white vinegar solution. The covid-19 virus is found in stool samples in the UK in 2017. How did it get to China is the question? When it broke out in the USA the smell of smokless sulfur like the smell of a strike match. was in the air around bus station, in front of Supermarket doors and restaurants. If any of them really cared, they would be subsidising healthy foods and banning junk foods, fizzy drinks etc. There would be a drive to force employers to require shorter working days and more time off, to be with family and exercise. I'm affected by molds regularity. Some are just bothersome, others attack my throat or cause instant pain in temples. One of them can hit my entire system - causing anaphylaxis if I don't get away immediately. Formaldehyde also. That is in new vinyl flooring and carpeting and many other things. It outgasses after several weeks of air exposure. New cars, buildings also. I digress , but thought I should share since we're busy freaking ourselves out here. From what the doctor explained it would make a good hypothesis the spike in India is caused by the fact that India has a good percentage of people who already contract this fungus condition and the recent high use of steroids is the cause for the increase.

Could it be the case that some patients who have other diseases such as psittacosis, Legionnaires disease, ARDS, asthma exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, sarcoidosis, RMSF, and so on might have died because treating physicians assumed that the these patients were suffering from COVID because the test for it turned positive? My understanding is that the COVID tests are not uniform ,and although sensitive, are not specific. Furthermore, COVID is a corona virus, one of several common cold viruses. Months before news of people dying in NYC, articles came out China and Harvard recommending the the restrictions of the nebulization of bronchodilators and use of systemic steroids. I wonder how many people died from exacerbation of asthma/COPD. I wonder how many people die with COVID and not die from COVID. If I show up to a famous ER tomorrow with psittacosis or pneumonic tularemia, and have a positive COVID test , I wonder if they would diagnosis my true disease and treat it, or just let me die with /from COVID.

Years ago my dad was in the hospital that was under renovation. The fungus and mole in the ductwork was in the air. My dad had emphysema and this fungus got into the damaged parts of his lungs. They called it aspergillosis. Very difficult to cure. He survived but this wouldn’t have affected him but for his stressed immune system.

@De Sign It's a defense mechanism to deal with all the pain & suffering, a way to adapt, the little click in the brain that turns off emotion & deals only with the problems at hand, it happens to everyone who deals with such issues on a daily or frequent basis, doctors, nurses, EMT's, military, law enforcement, firefighters, caregivers, even family members who must learn to care for a loved one & do things that they never thought that they could, all must learn to remove emotion from the situation. They deal with all the emotion later, while alone. This is why so many people turn to alcohol &/or drugs, or obsessive exercise or become adrenaline junkies who engage in dangerous activities & sports, they need to redirect the energy, or numb themselves. I know plenty of people who appear chill & emotionless in public, but have anxiety attacks, flashbacks, horrific nightmares, act out their dreams, hand tremors, drink themselves into a stupor, get high, or turn to harder drugs just to deal, because even the hardest hearted of people have a breaking point.
You're right. Many are now suffering from PTSD. They are finding it difficult to be compassionate because most of the patients now are unvaccinated. They are angry from having to risk their lives and their family's to care for those that have been arrogant enough to believe they were smarter than people that studied viruses for more than 30 years and refused vaccination. I feel very sorry for them. And glad I am not working right now.

I had Mucormycosis in my lungs from moldy hay 22 years ago. Had to get all the mold cut out. I had diabetes and didn't know it, so it had cut down my immune system and allowed the mold to grow. I had 5 puss pockets (2 in right lung and 3 in the left) that had to be drained and that's how they detected the Mucormycosis. Spent 4 months in hospitals. Been on disability since.
Thoracic surgeon, Kemp Kernstine, did an amazing job taking care of me. I was on Ampho "terrible" for a month. Thankfully, I was on a morphine drip and never had any pain during the treatments.

If any of them really cared, they would be subsidising healthy foods and banning junk foods, fizzy drinks etc. There would be a drive to force employers to require shorter working days and more time off, to be with family and exercise. Promoting healthy sleep patterns would also be on the agenda.

I also remember many people saying, "It's only a few, who are dieing from the vaccines", using the thought process of, sacrificing the few, to save the many. If we're not all the same, should other's shame, or limit other people's freedoms in public, for not getting any of the vaccines? You see, I don't like this thought process, & I don't believe it's the right thing to do. I definitely don't believe it's right, to bypass parents, so children can be administered any of these vaccines. I'm affected by molds regularity. Some are just bothersome, others attack my throat or
cause instant pain in temples. One of them can hit my entire system - causing anaphylaxis if I don't get away immediately. Formaldehyde also. That is in new vinyl flooring and carpeting and many other things. It outgasses after several weeks of air exposure. New cars, buildings also. I digress , but thought I should share since we're busy freaking ourselves out here. Fortunately, most of us watching this probably are not residing in the referenced environment. 🌱🌿

@@elkiepops Good morning Laura, the brand my wife and I use is NeilMed Sinus Rinse and they're individual saline packets. Also NeilMed NasaFlo Neti Pot, looks like a n old coffee kettle. Use bottled water only, warm the water add packet of saline and rinse out your sinuses. Works great for us up here in the Pacific NW. Good luck

Thanks to dedicated health professionals like Dr Hansen, many people have been saved from dying with Black Fungus disease. This has to be one of the hardest diseases a doctor has to treat in the sense of how terrible it looks on patients.
There is also White fungus which is worse than Black Fungus . There is another Fungus in existence as well. Yellow Fungus is what it is called .

I live on WV and we have alot of mold and fungus here due to the mountains. We take oil of oregano once a month just to knock out anything. My has seen people pass only to find out their lungs were full of fungus they were never treated for

From what the doctor explained it would make a good hypothesis the spike in India is caused by the fact that India has a good percentage of people who already contract this fungus condition and the recent high use of steroids is the cause for the increase.

I had a long struggle to get back my voice, walking, lost memory, lost of sight, hearing, heart attack and I still can not smell. Thank God for Dr DuMornary, Dr Cassandra OnoFrey, Dr Droller and so many other's. I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy.

I used to volunteer at the VA for a few years. Some of the meth addicted vets and ones that ran meth labs too would come to the VA hospital ER with this sometimes. Most died horribly. It was pretty awful.
