I’m a soon to be dad for the first time and this is very knowledgeable and helpful for me, to help my wife as best as possible during those tough times. Thank you
The fact that you care about it this much to watch a video about it, I'm sure you will be a great father and husband 💖 Congratulations! May God bless your family
Totally agree! Was saying that yesterday to my husband. "If you get pregnant, you will have to wear diapers after you give birth." Best reason ever to practice safe sex.
That’s what I did for my sister. I spent over $100 on her after the baby came. Ya. The baby was ok. She was kinda cute (I’m not a baby person. I like them after 8months) but my focus was on my sister.
Princess Rose It is different for every woman. I only experienced cramps while nursing. I had no other pain and that only lasted for a few days. I did not take any painkillers. I have given natural birth 5 times and her experience is completely foreign to me. I also tore two times.
19 years old and boutta be a father... scared as shit but I’m 100% ready for everything that life is gonna throw at me. Wanna make my gfs pregnancy/postpartum experience as painless and bearable as possible.
If your girlfriend enjoys massages, please offer them as often as she’d like. Offer to make her food or get takeout, get her facial masks, paint her toenails... basically treat her like an absolute queen. ESPECIALLY when she’s cranky. You’ll both have a much easier time. ;)
As a child who's suffered from the absence of their father I'm very proud of you for sticking around while being so young. I know I'm a stranger but that doesnt change the fact that I am So PROUD of you. You are important, and you play a huge part in how that child will grow up.
This is the sweetest thing 💕 i love how youre researching videos of this on your own just to help her so amazing especially for your age, shes a lucky girl! You guys are gonna do great!
Angelique Hogan overall pretty good. I ended up getting a 3rd degree episiotomy and the doctor had to use a vacuum, but other than that he was a healthy baby boy!
1) I can’t stress how important that squirt bottle is when you pee 2) use that donut to sit on a chair 3) sitz bath with epsom salt 2-3 times a day 5) take that extra strength Motrin for the pain!! 4) as a first time mom, I was guilty of not going to sleep when baby went to sleep, I felt like it was the time to get chores done around the house plus I was the typical worried first time mother. 5) I had mood swings like no other, one minute I was happy and next minute as I’m feeding my little dude I would break down into tears, gotta love the postpartum blues. 6) ask for help!! Ask. For. Help.
@@zamiaramirez1390 i never did the sitz bath and was perfectly fine with all 3 kids. You just need to have more numbing spray and witch hazel on hand to help you heal
Ok but can we take a minute and appreciate how funny and light hearted she made this serious talk. This is all a LOT to take in but she made it tolerable
Cesarean post-partum here. A couple of my things I think people should know: In case you're wondering, yes, you still bleed afterwards. Your body has to get rid of the extra blood from pregnancy, lining, etc. I never did need the super big pads, just the regular size (could have just been me, not sure), but after about a week with those I was in liners for six weeks. Ugh. Bowel issues are common from all the anesthia and the surgery. I'm 11 weeks postpartum and just now starting to go regularly on my own. Before, I had been using Miralax, because without it I had rock hard poop that was soooo painful to pass. The soreness lasted for a while, and even once you feel better on the outside, it's going to take you a year plus to heal on the inside. Stairs are not your friend. Be prepared to camp out on your main floor for a couple of weeks if you have stairs and don't want to spend most of your days in your room. This may seem like common sense to some, but if you're breastfeeding, make sure you also eat and drink at night. I was so used to eating during the day only, and this was a no-no for breastfeeding. You have to drink a ton of water b/c you use up even more feeding your baby, and you can find yourself dehydrated (no fun). Not intaking enough calories will make you really tired too. Which brings me to another thing - breastfeeding can make you sleepy. FYI. Also, don't be surprised if your libido takes a hit, and surprise! Even though you didn't give birth vaginally, you may experience vaginal discomfort when you return to having sex due to hormones.
Girl, I have so much respect for you, NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES, THEY WEAR PADS! Lord, now I’m definitely more scared about the postpartum experience than the actual child birth😂
I'm 1 month PP today. Vaginal delivery and an epidural. I had a minor tear that required 3 stitches. I was pain free basically a day or 2 later. Peeing was weird and I was scared to poop but stool softener helped with that. All I'm saying is sometimes it's easier than you're expecting so don't let this video scare you!!
I'm on my 4th and my experience was a lot like hers. Everyone is different tho. I didn't have an epidural or the tissue growth she had, but the pain and bleeding was the same. I've never used padsicles and prepped them for this new baby. That's new and hopefully very helpful.
I’m due in 3 weeks with my first baby... please pray for me 😂 (edit) 1 year later and I had my beautiful baby boy with a very easy birth! Feeling so blessed ☺️
Because not everybody goes through the same thing! 99% of the stuff she saying I didn’t experience. I had the easiest birth and I breastfed my son for over a year. Currently pregnant with my second child. It’s honestly not as bad as everybody makes it seems but then again everybody experience is different.
Paris Davis that’s true. I went through most of the things she mentioned but I feel like no one talked about them to me until after I was already going through it. I wasn’t warned. It’s not soooo bad, and I plan to do it again. Just wish people were more real about the not so fun stuff that happens postpartum
Lol. I had my baby yesterday. He was 5lbs 14oz. I had to get 2 to 3 stitches. I have to be honest..the past 24 hours haven't been that bad. Yes it stings a bit l when I pee. My first bowel movement came out pretty easy. It wasn't that bad. I bled pretty heavy for a few hours, now the bleeding is just like a regular period. Not really cramping that bad in my stomach but every now and then I get very mild contractions where my uterus is trying to shrink back down. Been taking ibuprofen and that seems to help. Your video was so funny and I enjoyed it. Good luck mama's❤❤ It won't be so bad😘😘
Yeah I notice a lot of people try to traumatize us women LOL it’s not intentional but it’s awesome because every woman’s body is different and reacts differently to pregnancy so some will have it easier than others after birth and some will have it harder just depends
I had similar experience as yours, a bit of stinging when peeing the first few times but bowel movement didn’t hurt, at first used maxi pads then regular. the witch hazel is helpful deff recommend that!! Agree video was really funny!
@Dee James Thanks so much for your comment. Most women have such horrid stories, it all scares me, lol. You managed to calm my nerves down a bit. Hope you and the baby are doing well!
Was he full term? 5 lbs is very small and not the average weight for boys unless you and your partner are both small. But having an 8 lb. Child is very different from 5 lbs
I’m 30 weeks & sitting here giggling bc you’re funny but crying in the inside 😭😭 #ripmytutu Update: gave birth to my baby boy Logan on 6/19.. got a first degree tear with abt 2 stitches I believe. I’m still walking funny ! My tutu definitely died but it’s on its way to redemption. I say in another week the pain should be bearable for me. 😂 take these tips !
You all do fine. Remember these tips use it to be aware but not scared. Love yourself love your babies. Love G d. Welcome to Motherhood. It is truly a blessing, but honestly it doesn't always feel like that. Ask for help and feel no shame in doing so. Take it from me. My kids are grown and my youngest "baby" is well into his teens.
I’m not pregnant or have kids but this just makes me more terrified to even think about having kids. My mom has 10 kids and she never told me any of these things. God bless all the moms out there.💕
Girl I feel you same here, I was always afraid of the idea of child birthing and postpartum since I used to be in high school because I studied on it a lot just out of curiosity. Even though I am soon to be married, and don't have any kids. Yeah children is and sound amazing, but honey the process...... uhhh..yeahh..... yeahh I don't know if I want to go through any of that stuff... Ima need God's strength fr fr.
I’m a mother of a toddler with one on the way (in like 2 weeks), and I just want to say, to all the new mamas to be out there, please don’t let this video scare you. Everyone’s experience is different. My postpartum experience with my son wasn’t half as bad or traumatizing and I had a 2nd degree tear (also not that bad). I had a natural, unmedicated, birth center water birth (which was amazing btw). The cramping during breastfeeding was so minimal, I hardly notice them. The supplies she suggested are helpful, but please know that there are more holistic options for you. Long story short, try not to allow anyone’s traumatic story stop you from enjoying such a phenomenal, transformative moment in your life. Pregnancy, labor/delivery can be beautiful, it’s all in your mindset. Embrace it, revel in your superpower and trust the process. You got this 💛
@@nazlyrinquest5365 my mom had both Natural births and c- sections and she explained that they're both hard in there own way. With a natural Birth, delivery can be the hard part and with a c- section, recovery is hard too. I had 2 at-home deliveries with midwives and loved them. Bringing a new life to the world isn't the easiest thing but research and do what's best for you.
I gave birth 5 days ago and I am suffering, I thought I was dying and I am grateful for this video coz all the new moms show the nice videos but never such truths. Now I will just breath and ride the wave coz IT'S NORMAL
I have desperately been looking for a video that goes this in depth about post birth! Why don’t more women talk about this?? Thank you for your video!!
@@jazzie_wolf nope if u do research any women can be loose once they had a kid it don't matter how many kids u have it depends if u exercise ur vagina the older u get the looser it gets so it's EVERY WOMEN I bet people dt share that neither.
Finally someone who is actually telling it like it is. Everyone tells you how “sunshine and rainbows” it is to give birth. They neglect to mention the giant mesh underwear you’ll be wearing for weeks due to your non stop heavy bleeding. Or the fact that you’ll need that squirt bottle on every trip to the bathroom.
Don't forget that lochia (the bleeding and discharge during post partum) might smell like something has decayed inside of you. Apparently it is normal. Made me freak out a lot, because I was afraid of an infection. Also I was in too much pain in order to realise whether anything else was going on besides the pain I was anyway feeling. Couldn't have survived without ibuprofen.
No one warned me about postpartum hair loss... I literally lost the whole front of my hairline in clumps! And it wasn’t my Primary or OB who solved the mystery but a nutritionist... I was “malnourished” from Childbirth and nursing. So please eat right and continue your prenatals after delivery especially if nursing.
Gypsy Princess No problem! I tell everyone I know about it now because I found it to be so devastating when it was happening. I had to wear scarves and hats until my hair grew back...which while going through all the postpartum stuff and hormones and sleep deprivation was a rough time for a while. My advice is to take care of your self as best as you can and to sleep as much as you can before and after baby arrives...and most importantly....CONGRATULATIONS!
I had my first baby last Wednesday and let me just start off by saying I had NO pregnancy symptoms.. no nausea no food cravings or dislikes no better sense of smell no cramps no Braxton hicks. Now when I was going into labor this is what happened, I woke up at 3:50 am with cramps and the sudden urge to poop and it was not solid.. I went to lie down and then at 6:45 am, I slightly moved in bed and i felt a tiny squirt and i thought i just peed a little so i was UGH ok lemme get up and go pee. I put my hand on the bed and I felt a wet spot and I was like fuck did I leave the water bottle open, so I proceeded to get up and I felt more liquids start to come out and when I stand up amniotic fluid just came down. I felt small little contractions until I was probably 3 cm keep in mind I was planning on skipping the epidural I made to 8 cm without it but as the pain got worse I wasnt able to control my breathing meaning the baby wasnt getting enough oxygen so I had to get the epidural to calm down. Pushing was hard only because I didn't know if I was actually doing anything. When my baby came out, all I felt was like a super wet tampon being pulled out. I DIDN'T TEAR!!🎉🎉 but peeing kinda did hurt bc of the catheter they had put in my urethra. I was scared to poop but it doesnt really hurt maybe it felt a little sore. Yes bleeding is very heavy the first day. Idk if other women have heavy bleeding after but my bleeding has been very light even more now 6 days after giving birth. Cramps eh but BACK PAIN girlll, I think it's the worst part about all this.
good for you gurl!! i also have no pregnancy symptoms, its actually been a breeze! im due end of june and im praying my delivery isn't so painful and that i dont tear. especially that i dont tear!!!
You’re SOOOO lucky, I gave both one week ago to a small 6 pound baby girl and had second degree tearing. Supposedly that’s not that bad. It felt TERRIBLE!!
I'm also due in late October - on my birthday for goodness sake... I was not ready to see this video... Thankfully, here in The Netherlands every mama gets a personal care nurse who visits your home daily for the first week post delivery to help you out!
gw3nd0l3n3 Congratulations!! You will have a birthday twin, lol. My birthday is October 14th. I was not ready for it either but I would rather know about it now and be prepared. Wow, that’s cool!
Peeing postpartum is definitely more painful than delivery ugh - I delivered an 8.10lbs baby naturally, I can say this!! I survived the first week of postpartum as of a few days ago ✌ Ladies natural birth is not as bad as you might think lol postpartum and breastfeeding is WORSE be prepared for that, take care of your body!!! Best advice I have for postpartum: regarding number 2 - get some colace, its a mild stool softener only 50mg, start popping those babies like 3 times a day after d day, and then gradually go down to 2, and then to 1 as your pain level goes down in the following days (or weeks).... and screw the spray but ice, ICE, ICE, baby - get REUSABLE PERINEAL ICE PACKS - buy them on Amazon, they stay colder for longer than padcycles or the frida mom insta packs which are honestly wayyyy too expensive for how many I used lol, but by all means absolutely try them out, there is a cheaper generic version on Amazon of them too -- and targets up&up brand witch hazel wipes, they are bigger than the tiny tucks, they stay in place better, and they are like 3.50 for like 48 wipes. Lastly. If you can't pee in the toilet... literally fill the tub with a few inches of water and sit in it to pee. I had to 😭🤣 it was definitely not something anyone told me to do or I was prepared to do, all I knew was that I was desperate lmao.
@@mariasoto1837 soon after I had my first baby I was crying in the car realizing that my mom went through the same horrors that I was going through. Except she was a single mom with twins😭 so I called her to say sorry she had to deal with that lol
Bc its gross and nobody likes yalking about gross things. The smell alone made me sick personally, it was like a period but on steroids, it smelled different than a normal period but pungent too to annoy me....it was gross but only lasted like 3 days
Facts! After having my 1st I was so confused as to why literally NO ONE ever mentions postpartum care. Pregnant with my 2nd now so get to do it all over again. Fun times!
Based on our experience, I could imagine how scary it must be for teen moms and single moms or moms without an active partner to assist with the aftercare.
@@Coolcatscattery It must be scary for you.. My biggest respect for you being so brave. It will be alright, remember this is just a pain for the body and if it happens it will still go away. But your heart and soul will be full of joy. Being a parent is wearing a crown ❤ Lots of love and stay safe.
*Ladies, not only water. Hydration you can get in many forms. I loved the soups I made, infused water, watermelon, etc. That helped a lot instead of plain water.*
I didn't feel like this was TMI. I felt like this was detailed/ thorough, which I really appreciate. I feel more prepared knowing what all to expect. Thank you for sharing your experience and for being so real and practical in your videos!
As a 73 yr old granny now, I'm just in awe & envious of all the fabulous products available now to make our lives at this delicate & fragile time, so so much easier! Also desperately needed is a kind, understanding & patient partner!!
I feel like when it comes to postpartum, we are living in the Victorian Era. Remember how women had to learn about the birds and the bees from their husbands on their wedding night? That’s exactly how I feel about postpartum. Thank you so much for this video! I’m terrified lol but I learned a lot and now have an idea on how to prepare.
As a first time dad, looking for ways to support his dear wife on our pregnancy journey, (we are 8 months pregnant), I am I incredibly grateful for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to know these things beforehand so that I know the little big things I can do to just help. I love your tip about the haemorrhage cushions. The stories I’m hearing about postpartum are nuts! I respect women even more man! My wife told me about her work colleague who said peeing for the first time after delivery is like peeing blades. At the time, I thought it was crazy, but I recently had to undergo cystoscopy, and the recovery took 48 hours but that was one of the most challenging 48 hours of my life. Now, I can only imagine how much more painful it would be for a woman who just birthed a human! So I think God gave me my experience NOT to trivialise any reports from my wife about pain and discomfort because it can be easy for someone who never went through it to think “surely it can’t be that bad”. Overall, I’m immensely grateful for videos like this because I need to learn to be sympathetic, empathetic, and just supportive during this period. It only saddens me that I can’t be on maternity leave with my wife due to work as I would love to THERE, simply to just serve my wife and my child without having to worry about work but God willing, we will he fine :) Love inputs from your hubby as well-he’s a funny guy. Love from the Uk
This definitely cured my baby fevers. I have being worrying my hubby and family for a baby, to the extent of watching almost everything child birth, from 1st trimester to after labor. That alone wasn’t fun and knowing I will go through this much pain and discomfort, I think I will go ahead to finish my Masters. The baby can come later when I’m done with school. I’m just 25
Yes as women I feel like we’re always thinking about growing a family especially when we’re in a relationship . I feel like taking care of everything first like your education and getting your financial needs and wants ready is a must before starting a family !
I'm 19 years,,, in my third year of my degree n well I'm pregnant though unplanned. Sometimes I think pregnancies are inevitable if God wills one to have a baby. Irregardless,, gotta juggle between single mother hood n school n ik this experience will make me stronger
Great video! My husband and I were watching this video and he made pancakes for me afterwards because he felt so sad about everything my body would have to go through to bring forth our child. 😂 Thank you for your detailed video.
Thats y children must respect their mothers and never neglect them....bringing a child into the world and raising him or her take sweat, pain and tears, plus ALOT of unconditional love.
I really don’t know if it’s my hormones, but I was literally crying for half of your video. I’m currently 3 months, first time pregnant, and I am scared. But you did great at explaining every detail and I appreciate it.
Ohhhhh Lawwddd, Why did I hit the play button. 🤣🤣 I'm 37 weeks and genuinely freaking out. I was scared of delivery, but this postpartum is another level....🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ Send prayers please 🙏🏽🙏🏽
It went OK actually. I wanted a natural birth but God said sike C section for you boo. That recovery was brutal, never felt pain like that in my life. I also felt helpless, my husband helped me out the bed, use the bathroom...So annoying because I was used to doing things on my own, but he's such a blessing because he got up most nights to feed her. It was easier that way because he was quicker then me. Overall the pain of the journey is always worth it. My girl is 15 months and thriving. God is so Amazing y'all 🙏🏽🥰
Love this video 😁. On my 4th pregnancy and a lot of this info is useful. Yes everyone’s experience is different. But one regret of mine was never being 100% prepared. People always tell you how beautiful and wonderful pregnancy and motherhood is but they miss out on the ugly truths. With this pregnancy, I want to be ready for everything because I’ve experienced a lot of what she has throughout all of my pregnancies, so I WILL be buying a lot of these items. If you have a great support system then you can take it one day at a time but if you don’t being prepared for it all is best. Thanks for this, literally had me laughing! 🤣
Thank you so much for this honest, raw, vulnerable video!! I am 24 weeks and trying to educate and prepare myself for everything birth/postpartum. Knowing what could/will likely happen is so helpful. Really appreciate all your videos. Women are warriors!!!
i didn't know anything about this and i'm due in 2 weeks 😅 this is very helpful.. wish i can afford all of those stuffs.. and pls pray for me for safe delivery ❤
I was so shy about being undressed in front of people but its so true as soon as your in labor or even after labor all that goes out the window! My nurse gave me a whole sponge bath in the bathroom after I pushed my son out and I was so comfortable with it and thankful
True I gave birth on all fours but afterwards I wanted to be covered up. Business as usual but I had a nurse tell me I was being high and mighty all of a sudden and acted as if I should have just stayed naked even after being stitched just because "other women don't care".
@@tiffanyjohnson172 true. I just need their cold a$$es to pony up some extra loans & become pathologists instead. They can instead work in a hospital morgue, no one told them to be in l&d where women & babies are most vulnerable 🤷🏾♀️
Shout out to all the first time fathers here. We just trying to get an idea of what to expect in a couple of months. Praying for my wife and all the moms of the world 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿💞💞💞
I cried for a few days because the pain I felt after having my son was such a shock! I found labour less painful (unmedicated birth so thank you so much to my body for making all those pain relieving hormones). Walking, sitting and standing was horrible! I had a 2nd degree tear so peeing without the squirt bottle was the stupidest thing I tried to do. I pooped just fine oddly enough lol I felt better after a month but it probably took 3 months for me to be able to stand and walk for long periods of time without pressure. I then also cracked my tailbone due to prolonged pushing so that took about 6 months to heal. AND I'm pregnant with baby 2 so I'm going to do this all again lmao! I'm going to look into frida mom this time around.
@@ADoseOfRox Hopefully having some knowledge that the pain after could suck could help with coping. I think I'll do better the second time around because I have the awareness that I I didn't have before. Xoxo go for the epidural if you want!
@@peeenalope1 ha ha ya the delivery was easier to deal with! There's also no baby to care for in the same way. Its tricky to take care of a baby when you feel so bad.
You are hilarious lmao! You had me dying with the Tempur Pedic mattress pads! I'm currently 26 weeks, and after seeing so many "fairies and unicorns" unrealistic postpartum videos - it's nice to see a REAL one. Thanks for the laughs lol
Right? I'm having my fourth after 3 years, and 8n like.... Oh fuck... I forgot abt that.. ughhhh. Witch hazel really is the bff that and warm water in that Peri bottle
I have enjoyed this video so much. Thank you. The fact that you mentioned everything I am going through at the moment and making jokes in between makes the pain feel less.
I’m a young mom and 6 months but this doesn’t scare me only because so many woman go through this and I know I’ll be ok at the end with my little baby boy
Finally, someone with an understanding of biology. This woman is screaming and sensationalizing something NORMAL that every woman has gone through since the first human. I wish she could be reasonable and not so dramatic about this.
@@negautrunks no actually not every woman goes thru this. Other people who I have talked to say "i didnt have any pain" "My bleeding only lasted up to a week or two" "I could walk normal" "Nothing hurted I was just tired" "Honestly I just wiped and it didnt hurt at all." "I had no back pain whatsoever" For others, it's really in a sense, dramatized like this. Every step is painful, but u deal with it but it hurts a lot. For others, even just spraying that water down there hurts. Everyone is really different. Other ppl I remember telling me "i felt really cold after i gave birth" While other ppl said "i didnt feel cold at all idk what they talking about " So it's really different for everyone lol.
@@khuxiong4589 I never said it wasn't different for everyone. What I did say is every woman who gives birth goes through the postpartum experience. You should read more carefully. And you should learn grammar so that you can communicate effectively. You look uneducated. Also this woman IS fearmongering for views.
I never thought how much pain my mom has been passing through my first day living out of her uterus. I am going to be a mom now and I am trying to prepare my mind and my body for that journey. We should appreciate more our moms and do more for them because they are strongest creatures over the earth.
So, I am 7 months pregnant and I had done my research on post partum. It was affirming to hear the words I read be reiterated in your conversation. My favorite part was every product and tip you gave for every leakage we can expect!!! Very very very helpful. Thank you! I don’t like the comments on the video though, lol. Seems like many people are deterred from pregnancy because of post partum. Look, it ain’t easy, but it’s apart of the process. I trust that, like you, our bodies WILL heal; and, we go through all of this to bring our baby to this world. I’m not jumping for joy over the hardships but this doesn’t deter me! I feel better prepared watching this.
I am I agreements with you momma , I had my baby boy 3 weeks ago and I thought after delivery that would everything would be done, my God my first two weeks were the worst , I’m still healing currently but not deterred . Honestly it’s the worst but my baby is so worth it .
I used something called "Netsy" from Sweden. The are hard plastic that fits around your nipple, so that your nipple can breathe in a moist (milky) environment that catches the extra leakage in the cup. I am blonde, and would not have survived nursing without them. I had four babies, so I got my money's worth. They were purchased in a maternity store. At the time, they were about $5.00. While the baby feeds on one side, the other side sprays milk. So, they helped keep the other side dry for my nipple. Better than nursing pads, because the nipple likes to grab the material, after it has given the milk.
Mattress 😂, this is true! I ALSO didn’t realize all this until I had my first child 😮. I was NOT prepared for how much & how long I bled/pain/swelling, it lasted longer than 2 months! Ladies prepare yourselves! You will recover, you will be fine but it will take time. Be patient, fathers…don’t complain about ANYTHING! Make her life as comfortable as possible, be patient & understanding please. And there is a reason why your grandmother’s say to wrap yourself (your belly) do it! It helps keep your insides together & shrink back down, if you don’t it will take much longer & your abdomen will remain looser than you’d like. Best to you all, blessings to you & your babies.
AOK some extremely HUGE HUGE pads the hospital give you. It’s like sitting on a bassinet mattress. They come in handy for heavy bleeders and I guess women who have vaginal births. I’m not a heavy bleeder so always infinity overnight pads work just fine for me.
Yes girl! Nipple care! Another thing to help is after nursing express some milk on your nipple and let it air dry. Breastmilk has a TON of healing properties and helps so much! I did this a TON and it helped so much.
I am 30 weeks now with my first child and bumped into this video while doing my research. I nearly gave birth as I laughed so hard. I am very sensitive and have had a very high risk pregnancy with lots of complications so I know this will be me. Thank you for this video. I feel like I know will be prepared for the next level of pain. God bless us mothers. Btwn the mattress pad i will never forget this ! Lol
No one tells you to avoid coughing and sneezing postpartum. Laughing hurt too. Worse than sitting down and going to the bathroom for me😭 Also take a hot bath every day! So soothing and healing!
Had my baby last Friday, 4.09 Kgs in Nairobi 🇰🇪 Second baby, this time I had a perineal tear & I'm still on my menses. I was scared of going to the loo, the nurse took me as I'd bled heavily. I think my gynae is really good & I'm lucky, don't feel pain down there and had a natural bath. Using the tips from the nurses, keeping clean and taking it slow. I'd like to share some non-US perspective videos since the approach is different.
SO real. I'm 4 weeks postpartum and ALL OF THIS. No one told me you'd bleed for like a month, that pooping was worse than labor (it was) or that your stomach would be a giant floppy mess. Postpartum/breastfeeding/pumping has been worse than pregnancy or my birth - both of which went awesome.
Get a Milkies Milk Saver! It can hold up to 2 oz of milk at a time. Whenever i "let-down", both breasts let-down at the same time, and i leaked out so much gold! Use this and it gives you a stash of that good rich milk to either top off the milk bags you plan to freeze, or you can combine them at the end of the day to make another bag/bottle for your partner to help feed baby with. I'm sure you will cover breast feeding in the other video you plan to make, but grab this and try it too. Also, store frozen milk flat! Final thing, perineum massage in months 7-9 can help make things more flexible and potentially prevent tearing. If you can, have your partner assist/perform the "massage". It can be uncomfortable, but it's worth it! Happy you are doing well! Good job momma!
I’m 35 weeks and not gonna lie, definitely shuddered at some parts but I’m so excited to meet my baby boy! Thank you for your transparency, this pregnancy hasn’t been easy but I know it’s worth it

Thank you 😩💕💜🙏🏽
Thank you
This video was scary
I’m a soon to be dad for the first time and this is very knowledgeable and helpful for me, to help my wife as best as possible during those tough times. Thank you
I loved that you watched this!! You’re already on the right path to be an amazing Dad! 🥰
congratulationsssssssss new daddd ! you will do just great
The fact that you care about it this much to watch a video about it, I'm sure you will be a great father and husband 💖 Congratulations! May God bless your family
Can I borrow you after giving birth 🤣😭
You’re an amazing husband wow I’m gonna cry
This needs to be in every sex education class.
Would have traumatized some kids but at least they would think twice before having unprotected sex 😂
Right!!!
Totally agree! Was saying that yesterday to my husband. "If you get pregnant, you will have to wear diapers after you give birth." Best reason ever to practice safe sex.
Well at least it will make them think twice about having unprotected sex and lower teenage pregnancy
Yup
I'm entering my second trimester and while everyone is planning baby showers, I'm planning my postpartum care.
Take care of yourself that was my biggest mistake in baby 1now baby 2 in June I'm getting my stuff ready
same 👏🏼
Well you can't have a baby shower so that makes sense
right there with you girl...😂😂
That’s what I did for my sister. I spent over $100 on her after the baby came. Ya. The baby was ok. She was kinda cute (I’m not a baby person. I like them after 8months) but my focus was on my sister.
I’m pregnant and now I’m more scared of post partum pain than the actual child birth😂
Princess Rose It is different for every woman. I only experienced cramps while nursing. I had no other pain and that only lasted for a few days. I did not take any painkillers. I have given natural birth 5 times and her experience is completely foreign to me. I also tore two times.
Blackflyer1 thank you that gives me some relief😂and power to you for going through that you’re very strong!💗
You got this. Got the numbing spray it is a lifesaver
Me too, just be prepared and hope for the best 🤞
Grow up and Glow Up Thank you😂💗
19 years old and boutta be a father... scared as shit but I’m 100% ready for everything that life is gonna throw at me. Wanna make my gfs pregnancy/postpartum experience as painless and bearable as possible.
Wow!! Already sounds like you are going to make an amazing father!! You got this! Wishing you the best
Teach all the men! PLEASE!
I’m 9 months pregnant and I couldn’t decide if I should laugh or cry during this video! My favorite was comparing the pad to a mattress.
How was your experience?
Angelique Hogan overall pretty good. I ended up getting a 3rd degree episiotomy and the doctor had to use a vacuum, but other than that he was a healthy baby boy!
Danielle Igims congratulations on the baby
Am 6 months pregnant. I laughed all through..i even had to send to my sister to watch too. She makes the pains thing sounds funny
Exactly only I laughed to later cry 😂😂😂
Ask. For. Help.
Truth ! You feel like your the only person and feel so lonely at times it’s a weird feeling 💗
SoniaBSanchez try using a wrap to carry baby while she/he is up and you can do chores that way and sleep
I never slept when the babies slept lol
What if you dont have a bath
@@zamiaramirez1390 i never did the sitz bath and was perfectly fine with all 3 kids. You just need to have more numbing spray and witch hazel on hand to help you heal
Ok but can we take a minute and appreciate how funny and light hearted she made this serious talk. This is all a LOT to take in but she made it tolerable
Literally was thinking the same. I was in the process of watching someone else until I saw her video, so glad I did
I’m literally 16 lmao, so I’m not sure why I’m here. However mad respect to all mamas out there, women are tough as nails.
I'm only 14 so like.... I'm not sure why I'm here either 🙂😂😂
I'm 13 but i want to be a cnm so that justifies it? 😂
i was 16 when i was pregnant, so maybe this video helps not be in the same situation i was in lol !
Kay Nicole true :)
17. I'm kinda far from this but I kept watching coz she's kinda funny
Twenty seven minutes and sixteen seconds of birth control.
Swear to god 😂

Too late for some of us lol

I swear 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤞
Adoption is looking like a very real possibility after watching this.
You literally read my mind 😂
Yup! Lol
😂 Yes it is!
Same
Girl same and I’m pregnant 😅
Girl, I have so much respect for you, NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES, THEY WEAR PADS! Lord, now I’m definitely more scared about the postpartum experience than the actual child birth😂
🤣🤣🤣
They wear mattresses. Lol
righttt
I'm 1 month PP today. Vaginal delivery and an epidural. I had a minor tear that required 3 stitches. I was pain free basically a day or 2 later. Peeing was weird and I was scared to poop but stool softener helped with that. All I'm saying is sometimes it's easier than you're expecting so don't let this video scare you!!
Thank you so much for this 😭😅
Thank you
Definitely
Just keep this as information just incase
Right unless you get cursed and it don’t turn out right for everyone
I'm on my 4th and my experience was a lot like hers. Everyone is different tho. I didn't have an epidural or the tissue growth she had, but the pain and bleeding was the same. I've never used padsicles and prepped them for this new baby. That's new and hopefully very helpful.
I’m due in 3 weeks with my first baby... please pray for me 😂 (edit) 1 year later and I had my beautiful baby boy with a very easy birth! Feeling so blessed ☺️
Make sure you update us girl!
Go mama!!!! You got this!!!!
Congrats🎉🎉 how was it?
Im due in 2 weeks and this is😅
I'm due in 5 days 🤦🏼♀️
This is the best all inclusive postpartum video ever!!!! Why don’t people tell you this stuff????
Because women wouldn´t want to get pregnan if they do... xD!
Congratulations on your new baby! I’m glad your delivery went smoothly:)
I’m 30 weeks & sitting here giggling bc you’re funny but crying in the inside 😭😭 #ripmytutu
Update: gave birth to my baby boy Logan on 6/19.. got a first degree tear with abt 2 stitches I believe. I’m still walking funny ! My tutu definitely died but it’s on its way to redemption. I say in another week the pain should be bearable for me. 😂 take these tips !
Same here, I'm 33 weeks and I am both happy to get it over with but also super nervous about labor and postpartum 😭
Yes feel this! Im 36 weeks super nervous/scared also so ready for my child to be born
You all do fine.
Remember these tips use it to be aware but not scared.
Love yourself love your babies.

Welcome to Motherhood.
It is truly a blessing, but honestly it doesn't always feel like that.
Ask for help and feel no shame in doing so.
Take it from me. My kids are grown and my youngest "baby" is well into his teens.
Congratulations you all
Same!!! Lol
I’m not pregnant or have kids but this just makes me more terrified to even think about having kids. My mom has 10 kids and she never told me any of these things. God bless all the moms out there.💕
Vanessa 🙏❤️
I know right! 🥰
You got this 💛
I love this comment, best ever! 🙏❤️ bless you
Thank you.. that video was scary 😭🥹
Lol and the lies continues 😂 no thank you c-section it is for me
@@nazlyrinquest5365 if that is your choice, then great.

Omg I so scared now due in 8 weeks 😟

I thought it was an abnormal when i am smelling so bad down there
Thanks for saying that! Yeah it’s an… interesting smell.
Same here! My hair never recovered.
Wow a lot of people don’t know about the hair loss ish is real.
Thank you for the heads up. My husband and I just found out we are expecting our first baby.
@@lifewave7321 Thank you and I will and am. :)
Geeeeeez so you’re telling me after all these months, weeks and days of carrying this child it’s not over when I give birth! 😩😩😩

I think the lack of education around postpartum is disgusting. Thank god for RUclips so I have a clue what to expect!

mine too😂
Have you done it?
Cramps eh but BACK PAIN girlll, I think it's the worst part about all this.
good for you gurl!! i also have no pregnancy symptoms, its actually been a breeze! im due end of june and im praying my delivery isn't so painful and that i dont tear. especially that i dont tear!!!
i’m due on july 31st, honestly scared😫
Ohhh my how did you manage not to tear I don’t wanna tear I’m scared for that!
You’re SOOOO lucky, I gave both one week ago to a small 6 pound baby girl and had second degree tearing. Supposedly that’s not that bad. It felt TERRIBLE!!
Is there any special diet or exercise or anything you followed during your pregnancy?
I'm pregnant now and will be due late October early November. I learned a lot from this video. This might be my only baby, lol.
I feel the same way about mine due in December 😱😥😣
I’m due early October and this will be my only baby lol
Me too !!
Peeing postpartum is definitely more painful than delivery ugh - I delivered an 8.10lbs baby naturally, I can say this!! I survived the first week of postpartum as of a few days ago ✌
Ladies natural birth is not as bad as you might think lol postpartum and breastfeeding is WORSE be prepared for that, take care of your body!!!
I'm not even pregnant and I'm terrified. holy cow I'm gonna call my mom now and say thank you for all that she went thought
I was an accident. And then she chose to have me.... So it's all on my mum lol.

Right?!
It only saddens me that I can’t be on maternity leave with my wife due to work as I would love to THERE, simply to just serve my wife and my child without having to worry about work but God willing, we will he fine :)
Love inputs from your hubby as well-he’s a funny guy.

Howd it go?

I love the honest reality!! My mother passed away before I had kids and everyone around me just told me about the fun parts of being a mom.
When she said mattress I legit screamed from laughing!!!😂
Same
When u pulled out that pad.. I screamed!!!
Your humor is amazing.
Btw your curls are poppin
🤣🤣🤣 thanks love!
Thank you so much for this honest, raw, vulnerable video!! I am 24 weeks and trying to educate and prepare myself for everything birth/postpartum. Knowing what could/will likely happen is so helpful. Really appreciate all your videos. Women are warriors!!!
I’m not a mom yet, but after watching this how do people have 2 under 2 😱. I will definitely remember this video in the years to come for help.
“So you grab your tempur-pedic mattress” 😂😂😂
i didn't know anything about this and i'm due in 2 weeks 😅 this is very helpful.. wish i can afford all of those stuffs..
and pls pray for me for safe delivery ❤
The unused post-partum box would be a good giveaway item!
(Not pregnant lol but this video gave me more info than anything else ever has!)
Soo this is what they call the 4th trimester? 😬 I am due in 3.5 weeks. Lord help me!
Angel Mercer hang in there! You will have a cute little baby soon.
@@LaJuera25 Aww Thank you🤗
Be strong i am in same position as u with my 4th and i am scared aswell but once baby is born and on your chest ull forget everhthjng
@@kiranjalees2911 thank you. I can't wait🥰
@@kaylewatermolen2692 Aww thank you!
Thank you for being real about postpartum! I feel like I didn’t know any of this stuff and I’m 24 weeks pregnant!
I was so shy about being undressed in front of people but its so true as soon as your in labor or even after labor all that goes out the window! My nurse gave me a whole sponge bath in the bathroom after I pushed my son out and I was so comfortable with it and thankful
🤣🤣🤣 riiiiight?? So true!!
True I gave birth on all fours but afterwards I wanted to be covered up. Business as usual but I had a nurse tell me I was being high and mighty all of a sudden and acted as if I should have just stayed naked even after being stitched just because "other women don't care".
Jazzy Nicole My nurse said I shouldn’t be asking for drugs while I was in labor lol Some of them are cold 🥶
@@tiffanyjohnson172 true. I just need their cold a$$es to pony up some extra loans & become pathologists instead. They can instead work in a hospital morgue, no one told them to be in l&d where women & babies are most vulnerable 🤷🏾♀️
Jazzy Nicole I said the same thing! They’re like vultures waiting until we are at our most vulnerable smh.
I better heal correctly after having this baby in 3 weeks or else I’m never going to stop cursing. I’ll be mad for life😭
🤣 you got this!
I'm debating about an epidural.. I usually have a high pain tolerance but IDK.. BUT the AFTER delivery is what scares me huhuhu.
Omg same. I was praying to take me back to the delivery!
Pregnant with my second and this is 100% accurate.
I am guessing women forget all this when having more than one child.
You are hilarious lmao! You had me dying with the Tempur Pedic mattress pads! I'm currently 26 weeks, and after seeing so many "fairies and unicorns" unrealistic postpartum videos - it's nice to see a REAL one. Thanks for the laughs lol
Pregnant with my third baby and I still learned a lot from this video. It’s been 6 years since my last child. It’s funny how you forget. 😅
Right? I'm having my fourth after 3 years, and 8n like.... Oh fuck... I forgot abt that.. ughhhh. Witch hazel really is the bff that and warm water in that Peri bottle
This child I'm having may be a only child
SAME FOR ME! Omg lol
Me too!!!! 😂😂😂
I swear on everything
Lmaooooo my current mantra!!
🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️ Thank you!!! Me too !!!
God bless you woman of strength🙏❤
The comment I was looking for 🥰 same
Finally, someone with an understanding of biology.
This woman is screaming and sensationalizing something NORMAL that every woman has gone through since the first human. I wish she could be reasonable and not so dramatic about this.
@@negautrunks no actually not every woman goes thru this. Other people who I have talked to say "i didnt have any pain"
"My bleeding only lasted up to a week or two"
"I could walk normal"
"Nothing hurted I was just tired"
"Honestly I just wiped and it didnt hurt at all."
"I had no back pain whatsoever"
For others, it's really in a sense, dramatized like this.
Every step is painful, but u deal with it but it hurts a lot.
For others, even just spraying that water down there hurts.
Everyone is really different.
Other ppl I remember telling me "i felt really cold after i gave birth"
While other ppl said "i didnt feel cold at all idk what they talking about "
So it's really different for everyone lol.
I like the way U talk about it, very realistic. Some people do this kind of videos and they don't say it the hard reality the way U did! Congrats
Thank you so much, trying to learn eveyrthing I need for my pregnant wife :)
This is the ultimate cure for baby fever 😷 and careless fornication 😂
When ur strong for pain baby fever NEVER goes away
My advice pls get birth control I ended up having 5 and one is baking

Glad I never suffered from baby fever. Birth makes me run for the hills! Lord I hope my birth control NEVER fails me 🙏
I’m gonna have my husband watch this so he knows how to help me after the baby’s born!!! 😂
Same, I am not ready so I can't imagine he is 😭 lord help me
LOL. I made my husband watch too. He needs to know what all this entails on my part.
I never thought how much pain my mom has been passing through my first day living out of her uterus. I am going to be a mom now and I am trying to prepare my mind and my body for that journey. We should appreciate more our moms and do more for them because they are strongest creatures over the earth.
Okay, I’m not rushing my due date anymore

I swear I’m due in August my ass can wait now😭😭💯
Same!! Due in July.. lol
Iesha Weaver same lol July 11
Happy to extend this pregnancy contract for another couple of months 😅😂.
Me too! My bleeding took a while and I’m still recovering almost 3 months post !
No it’s not a mattress , it’s a pad 😂😂
Ruby Bonilla they are so big I use them as a cushion for my csection scar 😂
@@kendrajoseph5252 what pads are these?
AOK some extremely HUGE HUGE pads the hospital give you. It’s like sitting on a bassinet mattress. They come in handy for heavy bleeders and I guess women who have vaginal births. I’m not a heavy bleeder so always infinity overnight pads work just fine for me.
Use Depends instead
Lol
“If you aren’t really good about drinking water you will get a lot of headaches”
*reaches for my half full 32oz water bottle and gulps it all down*
No one tells you to avoid coughing and sneezing postpartum. Laughing hurt too. Worse than sitting down and going to the bathroom for me😭
Also take a hot bath every day! So soothing and healing!
L0rdeena my boyfriend made me laugh 1 hour after labor and it was not easy to laugh 😂😂
This is probably the best birth control reminder 😂❤️
Should show this in high schools to all horny teenagers. The girls would definitely think twice. The boys would flee at the thought!
@@loverlyme that part!!
Girl yes! Pumping made my nipples bleed and the scabs would peel off. That was 10 years ago and I'm still traumatized by it
I’m 19, 13 weeks pregnant and not with the father so I am terrified!!! This video was very helpful, thank you!!
how was it?
@@daisy.6656 she’s almost 3 years old now :)
The look of defeat when you should've used the postpartum package 😭😂❤
This video is as traumatizing as it is informative. Like omg 😱
🤣🤣yess
I’m 6 months & so nervous about labor and postpartum.. please pray for me guys!!
Did you have the baby yet? How did it go??
Watching this 4 months pregnant with my first child. Jesus Christ, I’m petrified now 😂
Hi there..I'm 4 months as well
And it's my first baby😂
That makes 3 of us lol
