I agree with all you said. Small farms are what built these communities. We have a couple big dairies in our area that hardly do any local business. They go right to Deere to change equipment every couple years. The local dealers don't even sell them any parts. They also use help that doesn't speak English for the most part. What does that do for the local community? Nothing.

All something like this does is allow the big to get bigger, consolidate the industry for more control, (it's easier to get one person to do your bidding than 100), and force smaller farms out so there is less local supply.
You just proved my point. I had 160 acres of corn this year. 16k payment. My neighbor has 4000 acres of corn at 125k is 31 a acre and l as a small farmer would have gotten the 100 a acre
Just like Hunter being on the board of an energy company it's getting to be more of the norm people help running companies they have no clue of the business. Medical advice from Gates is another good example. It's all control, favors, and money.
