Excellent retrospective. Both WM2000 and No Mercy are games I still revisit. No Mercy definitely has more replay value

I don't find the difficulty spikes to be too bad. Just do lots of light strikes and grapples, taunt repeatedly and occasionally get out of the ring and drag your opponent out. You'll eventually be able to get to 'special' mode.
