ADZE Very rare to find someone that takes such pride in their craftsmanship these days.
Thanks for sharing .
It would be awesome if you were to make a book for the axes to go with your excellent knife book.
Awesome Adze Nils ⚒️🔥 💥🪓⚡🤝🏻 Awesome as EVER☘️
Love your content bro keep it up ❤❤ ADZE
The adze tends not to get the respect it deserves compared to the axe.
Nice work on this one.
The only video where I have been thankful that it contained 'adze'
That’s pretty good.
Hahaha 🤣 That is pretty darn good!! 👊🙌🤙🏽💯🔥🫡
Outstanding 😂 I want to make a viking shield called an Adze Blocker now 😅
lol took me a second.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
There's a section in this video at 5:06 ish that needs appreciation.
It's cool because Nils is closing the face and he isn't letting go of the side he has in the tongs to do that.
That's economy of motion and not wasting the soak.
Made me smile.
tong work born of experience ...yes a very nice little clip that thanks for pointing it out
what do you mean by soak? First time I heard that term
@lamMeTV soaking in the forge means letting the billet sit for a while to make sure the heat goes all the way through the steel. Sometimes on big stock , especially hammers and so on you can be forging the outside of the block but the inside is still hard and not moving at all. frustrating and hard work if you don't know it's happening.
One of the cleanest forging I've seen in a long while
That was actually reall cool to watch. I hadn't seen someone make an adze before, usually it's knives or axes. It was cool to watch and narrate for my cat, Normie, who was watching with me.
9:46 thank you for showing that split/delamination and it being welded up again, I found this very encouraging :)
Greetings from Ireland. It's a lovely adze, thanks for the chance to win it.
Watching your work as you were making this Adze was very therapeutic. Simpler times are missed for a reason. Great workmanship!
Finally a channel without sponsorship adds only the adze I've been on here to see how they are made and was happy with the craftsmanship as well😊
Amazing work. I love your diligence when faced with several delaminations on the adze. I’ve been looking for a small adze for years, but maybe it’s time I make my own. 👊
Nils, that would probably be the finest ADZE produced in current times.
Very informative, interesting and inspirational - your perseverance and patience in using hand tools (the filing alone on all your pieces shows such dedication!) is really something.
It's great to see a talented smith not using a power hammer....except for hardy tools - that'd be a nightmare!
Keep up the good work, it's really appreciated - what a great adze.
Had an adze load of a time watching you make this. The fold over was a work of art. Beautiful
I’ve wanted and needed a good adze for years and this is the best. Great craftsmanship!
I absolutely loved watching you create this Adze from scratch, it's stunning. Your work is quite mesmerizing and a total joy. Thanks again for showing us all how it's done. Martin from Cornwall UK
Thanks Martin!
That is a beautiful little Adze. You're patience and craftsmanship are inspiring!
Great work as always ! 😁🤘🏼 and thats a Lovely handle on a Adze 🤗
that is a nice proces to make that adze. love the crafsmanship, really glad the algorithm recommended this video!
Outstanding craftsmanship and video production once again! Using that method to build an adze would definitely test a person's forge welding skills! Great example of how to get it done!
What a great project, haven't seen anyone make one before. I've been a greenwoodworker for some years now. An Adze has been on my wishlist for some time now. I would love to be able to add this to my tool collection❤
This is the most beautiful ADZE I've ever seen!
It is so relaxing to watch you work. Beautiful adze man.
A few decades ago, I used an adze for boat building. Best tool for both rough and finish work. Thank you for recalling that memory for me.
Glad to help!
As a green woodworker I use an adze to carve bowls and crooked branches in to spoons. But I never saw someone make it so I'm glad you showed us, Nils!
Thanks for the great content as always! 🔥🔨
The ADZE you've created is truly beautiful. Keep up the great work-it's inspiring to watch your creativity unfold.
Excellent work buddy i am impressed with your welding in the gas forge. are you running the regulator at maximum? can you tell me more about your forge Thank you Mark
This is the first time I've seen you forge an adze. Really cool process. I couldn't figure out what you were making at first until you bent it over and forge welded the two halves together. I love how you do most of it by hand. Great work!
Beautiful adzes and would look great in anyone's collection. Can't wait to get back to smithing myself...the shop became storage for the winter.
I would love an ADZE like this created by a true blacksmith! It would take my bowl carving to the next level, but good onces are expensive! Thanks for the great video and showing the beautiful work!
It's so awesome to see how different blacksmiths go about certain task. Forging isn't easy although you make it look it. Inspired as always seeing your videos. The "ADZE" turned out phenomenal.
This Adze is a work of art. Nicely done. Cheers!
ADZE ! - It’s actually my husband who got me into watching your channel! Thank you, really interesting to see.
That is sweet little Adze! Great work as usual sir!
I hace always wanted to make and ADZE!
Awesome detailed video and incredible craftsmanship 🪚🔨🔥
Great job with the adze. Its great to see you work through the whole process
That is a beautiful little "Adze"! You should be proud of your work. It is extraordinary! Love the videos.
This adze looks absolutely awesome! Especially the wood of the handle, it matches so well with the forged steel head.
Thanks for this video.
I really love watching you work, I find it so peaceful. And as mentioned by a few people it's the first time that I find and ADZE making video and even the specific tool to give it the right shape ;-)
I love your attention to detail when forging the "outline" of the "adze".
I would really love to adze this tool to my daily users. You are one of the most considered craftsmen I have ever seen, your commitment to quality is inspiring thanks for sharing it!
It was very relaxing just watching you work as this tool was forged from stock to fully mounted to put to use. A great way to spend the time away while cooking dinner. Oh and ADZE! :D
Nils, That was ANOTHER FANTASTIC video!! You are an amazingly talented Blacksmith. It was ADZE - solutely GREAT!! Thanks.
Sweet little adze!! An adze has been on my list of tools to make for a while now. Great to see how it’s done.
I could really use an adze to start carving some bowls... as always, I love watching you work. Have a great day! 👍🏻
ADZE - Thank you for posting this 'how to' video!
ADZE Very rare to find someone that takes such pride in their craftsmanship these days.
Thanks for sharing .
Watching your videos makes us realize all the power of forging : you can make about anything or any tool you need !
Wow, the adze is beautiful, you really are a master craftsman and your vids are so therapeutic. Looking forward to the next one already.
Absolutely beautiful! I like the shiny anvil because it gets used.
Thank you Nils, for sharing your skill. I recently purchased a forge and anvil to play. I sometime try to mimic your creations. I love the small Adzes.
love that, goes from scrap steel to beautiful "'adze'' , I need to get my hands on on and potentially make one once i can succecfully forge weld
That was really interesting to watch, thanks! Love the adze and that you included the part where you made the tool to shape it with
Awesome adze. The sheer craftsmanship in making it is so cool. As others have said, to many depend on power hammers and presses. It's just so mind-blowing to watch technique.
This guy is an artist. Very skilled and meticulous in his detail. I appreciate that very much. Lots of hammer control to say the least...
ADZE . Beautiful work! I love the curly birch handle on this one, it turns a humble tool into luxury item.
Didn’t even know an adze was a tool! Pretty amazing to see your skills shape that thing! Great work!
If we pay attention , we learn something new every day :)
Thanks for sharing an unusual tool make and how it's used. The Adze deserves more recognition. Good job mate
I really like the wood for the handle on the adze. Thanks for another great video.
Nils I absolutely love your hand work with minimal power equipment it inspires me. The Adze is beautiful.
Yeah I enjoy that work to :)
Amazing work as always! That's a beautiful adze. I really appreciate you showing the making of the bottom swedge. Need a tool, make a tool!
That's a terrific adze. I really like the edge geometry.
Love the skill and craftsmanship in your work Nils! This has inspired me to have a go at making an adze
Adze! What a beautiful esthetic to this production! Thanks!
Really enjoyable to watch! It's interesting how when there's no voice over I'm better able to understand the different parts of forging this - makes me think and try to understand instead of just relying on being explained what's happening. Looking forward to the next one :)
Loved the work in the adze, and the mind frame to make a jig to repeat the process exactly is excellent, for if you have to make more lovely little adzes
such a cute Adze! I forged a lot of woodcarving tools, want to tray this next time I forging
Hi Nils, I very much enjoying watching you work, great Adze! No music needed just sound of the hammer. Although I’d love a subtitle for why you added that small piece of steel near the hole but what a beautiful piece of wood.
It was probably piece of not-mild steel which will forge weld easier. It both adds a little material to the area and would help ensure the weld in that spot is stronger/better (since that's the most likely weld to fail in the whole process)
Fabulous workmanship Nils, that ADZE is something my brother would love. Jane ❤
Adze is a word I've never known of until now. Thank you.
that is one beautiful little adze!!! always enjoy watching you forge nils, keep it up.
Always beautiful work. I knew this adze wouldn’t be any different. Again, well done Sir. Mike
Love the polish you put on the edge of this ADZE. Can see why as it glides through the wood at the end.
Nice adze! You do wicked fine work. Its a pleasure to watch!
Well done! This is a beautiful little adze that anyone would be proud to use.
This is awesome ! And we always enjoy watching your videos !
This is a brillant Adze :)
Loved this video Nils, i reckon it's a great project for your Ebook series!!
That is a sweet little adze! Keep making these videos please.
That's a great little adze, I would use it proudly. As usual, you have made a functional piece of art
What a marvelous adze! Your metalworking skills are outstanding.
*Adze*
You're always killing it Mr. Ogren! Always looking forward to your next project.
Incredible work. Love the videos you put together. Thank you for the chance to win your Adze.
Nice Adze, absolutly perfect craftsmanship and control forging 🔥
A truly beautiful Adze. Thank you for showing this project to us.
Nice Adze. It's always a pleasure watching you work. I like to see smiths who don't rely on power hammers & presses all the time. I can't think of many (if any) smith that does axes better than you. If you get more chances to collaborate with Torbjorn, I'm sure others would enjoy watching the two of you as much as I do.
Very nicely made! I never heard of the word adze but now I know what it is!
Nice old school poster of Arnold! I also liked the fact that you can use the adze as a carving scoop. 😊
That's one good looking tool. I've dreamt of an adze for a long time, this wouldn't be a bad supplement to my evergrowing collection of tools!
One of my first forge welding projects was an adze I made for my uncle with low layer damascus edge and a beautiful piece of old hickory i got from a very old church being demolished in east Tennessee. I would love to have this one though Nils!
That's a really nice piece of work, as usual. Beautiful adze
Love your work man! The adze came out beautiful and yeah, it would be an incredible joy for me to be the lucky one to get it 🎉
Thanks!
Beautiful work as always Nils. I hope this adze will go to a good home!
An Adze-vertising campaign wouldn’t do this justice awesome craftsmanship cobba
Great little Adze! Great weld, love the handle!
That is a wonderful looking adze! Nice to see the work that goes into it.
Finally, a video where it all just adze up!
Yes! Beautiful Adze! I don't use one but, I'd still like a chance to own one forged by Mr. Ogren! Nice work brother! 👊🤙🏽💯🔥🙏🫡🫡🫡
That was amazing the way you created that wonderful adze.
I really appreciate your craftsmanship! Very impressive project/piece! Thanks again for taking us along.
A tool like an Adze is missing in my toolbox! This on is a real beauty (incl. the beauty-mark). Well done.
Very interesting to watch the process for the Adze creation. I think I will give it a try sometime.
