I came across the knowledge of this game in a nostalgia board game commericals binge and I was surprised to learn that it was brought back as a Target Exclusive; only 24 dollars I paid for mine. I agree with your comment with "Peak Milton Bradley" I swear they were they like the 90s Williams Pinball of Board Games with their creative games and fun gimmicks
Congrats on 50 episodes! This channel is one of my favs, and awesome videos like this are why. The sequence at the beginning was so cool, and the new intro is great! Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
I just discovered this channel yesterday and binged all the retro reviews, look forward to seeing more! Great visuals *Side note in the board game playlist a lot of the videos appear twice.
Great Review Buddy! I’m very impressed with the in game edits! Super time consuming so I understand the hard work and solid new intro. And removing the railing was genius! They really do make it way less dangerous!
Thanks Bernado, it's been a lot of work this episode, learnt quite a bit about green screen, lighting and keying doing it. And the new intro, i've been wanting to learn 3D modelling for a while, the death star trench of games took the most time there though, almost 4 hours to get that one shot haha. I play with the railings when playing forbidden bridge with kids who just want to get the gems and move back, it can be frustrating for them to fall and lose their gems but most the time, the railings are off when playing with my friends, it's all about ruining each others attempts :D
DownFromTheAttic Yeah I bet! My rooms actually a green room, but it’s just so much work and for me to do weekly things that’d be insane lol. Good work again!
Tabletop Island oh no danger, it’s far too much work to do it week by week. Every now and again though, when the game calls for it though, that’s doable ;)
Thanks Matt! yeah i think it's fair putting that rule in place and even if the gem you're carrying falls into the jungle you can still retrieve it, you still got the gem from the idol.
So interesting to spot the differences between main US release and later UK release, I assume when games sold well enough they localized them for other countries and tweaked them - US release didn't have the guy in boat on the start space, no footprints on the yellow step stickers, not to mention big Motorised logo on box (hard to spell that without zee/zed). I think the no batteries required was a big selling point for parents, they had to make that highly visible!
I'm assuming it's minor tweaks to make the game play better, though it's pretty obvious you climb the canyon wall :D I like to spot refinements in iterations too, it's nice to see they still work to improve games as they were being produced. And definitely right with the no batteries being a draw...doesn't make it any less noisy though!
Still have my forbidden bridge. Had to 3d print some railings and jewels. I re drew the cardboard base and laminated it. Also made some adventure cards to turn it into more than a roll and move game. Donated it to my local boardgame cafe to protect it
Great Video Luke, new intro looks great, have you played downforce? It would definitely fit the criteria of being a modern classic (although a remake of older games) it would make for a good video, also do you own thunder road? Keep up the great content!!
Thanks! These green screen episodes are always a ton of work but I have fun doing them :) and the game is spectacular, so glad it’s had a recent reprint so people can enjoy it

Subscribed! This was my absolute FAVORITE game as a kid...and I loved a ton.

Such a great video. I love the same kinds of games. Keep up the great work!
I have this game. Have had it forever. It was the best board game I played as a child.
It's recently been reprinted so it's a bit easier now to get a copy!
Wonderful presentation of a super-fun game!
Great review Luke. Love the new titles. Congratulations on reaching 50 episodes.
thanks bud!

The new intro is AWESOME! GOOD JOB! I have the same house rules that you at least have to go across the bridge once during the game to get a gem.
Thanks Matt! yeah i think it's fair putting that rule in place and even if the gem you're carrying falls into the jungle you can still retrieve it, you still got the gem from the idol.
Great video! You demonstrated the same care for your video like the MB guys who designed the forbidden bridge did :)
If I remember correctly they did relaunch this game recently. Not sure how similar they are but I remember seeing it in stores

Also the relaunch looks great , differences didnt bother me much (and im a very picky guy)
Nice job luke!
Thanks Norm!
I know I'm late but i really appreciate the video/content thank you!!!
Great video Luke!
amazing work by MB and yourself ;)

Holy cow that was better VFX than any other channel your size
Lol awesome made me laugh the intro
I added a house rule. If you roll adventure symbol. You can move an adventure to a dangerous position. Or remove a railing
might have to give that a try! I like the idea of removing railings to make it more difficult as the game goes on
@@downfromtheattic and thematically, the bridge is falling apart and rickety
Ohhh i want it
I actually found this a couple weeks ago on Facebook Marketplace for $2. I couldn't believe it!
BOARD GAME MAN that’s a damn good price, you got very lucky!
@@downfromtheattic She found it in her Uncle's closet and just wanted to sell it. I was ALL OVER IT. Ha Ha
Wow! I forgot allllllll about this fucking game! Wow!
It aint battlemasters big
Based on the first 2 minutes, this video doesn't have enough likes.
Is it a ripoff of Indiana Jones?
