Your content has been eye-opening, well-delivered, and well researched. You give us the facts, man. I really appreciate your content. I'm a white boy from Eastern Kentucky, and this history was never really taught in schools here. I grew up in a very racist family, and it took me awhile to overcome that mindset. Finding out that my Great-Grandpa's Grandmother was a freed black woman lead me to explore blackness and what it means to be black in America today. To be honest, I don't understand it all, and I'll never claim to share in the suffering and hatred that black America has to deal with, but I wish to learn more.

I never understood why we as black Americans felt that we needed to force our way into white establishments for there service unless a business is taxpayer-funded like schools I do not agree. 🧐❓

Because at the same time, the white power structure prevented the growth and thriving of "separate but equal" black establishments. President Calvin Coolidge said, correctly, that "The business of America is business." That has been true since the first 13 colonies were established...every colony was a for-profit business venture. When black people were shut out of big business by white government policies, by white social policies, and often by whit force, it meant that black Americans could never thrive.
Segregation was not just a matter of not having access to a white restaurant, but also not having access to a bank loan to build a good black restaurant. Black people paid taxes that supported public services depended on by businesses that excluded them. For instance, back in the day, governments didn't own power companies or do the city plumbing. Those were owned by private companies who were free to deny those services to blacks. Essential services such as transportation and even water might not have been even available to blacks because those were private businesses. In America, the purpose of government is to support business, and business drives government. Business and government in America are so intertwined that you can't draw such a line between them.
The problem with the "separate but equal" policy is that whites never allowed black businesses and facilities to achieve equality. The Rosa Parks situation was emblematic of the cruel cynicism of the "separate but equal" policy. Black people were required to sit at the back of the buses in an area marked "Colored." That fateful day, Rosa Parks was sitting in the Colored section "separate but equal" _where she was supposed to be_. When the white section filled up, a white man went into the "Colored" section and demanded that Rosa Parks give him her seat. She refused.
That is the perfect example of how "separate but equal" actually worked. We were allowed our separate things until they became desirable to white people, or until they became "too good for the colored people" and the whites either took them by force, forced them out of business, or destroyed them.
We can look back in hindsight _without understanding the context of the times_ and think that de-segregation could have been done more strategically. That's only because the public and private sectors _today_ are more clearly defined and separated.

Because it was black Americans that built those establishments through the money made from slavery. If you build a nation, you better dang well make sure you enjoy it just as much as white people. Its not about trying to "be like them" but it is about showing them and the world that we are just as valuable, just as important and just as equal as them. When free black people built their own communities WITHOUT the assistance of white America, those communities were burned to the ground, bought out or had any type commerce cost increased to where businesses could not afford to stock products. So if they would not let black folks have their own, then yes.. they needed to force their way into the white owned ones or end up doing without.

I think one of the issues was simply quality. For an example, i believe that Woolworth stores had decent quality food at lunch counters at a reasonable price. There were many around the country. But they had refused to serve black people.

It’s certain people who call themselves woke and associate themselves with the movement - who use obsessive political correctness, mandatory pronoun usage, and create mass association with white guilt and micro aggressions.
You can’t blame the critics of this type of behavior if they label it “woke” simply because these types people identify with that particular movement.

Welcome, tarantula! Your triangle and symbol sits black on your back; and I also know what sits in your soul. Revenge sits in your soul: wherever you bite, black scabs grow; your poison makes the soul whirl with revenge.
Thus I speak to you in a parable-you who make souls whirl, you preachers of equality. To me you are tarantulas, and secretly vengeful. But I shall bring your secrets to light; therefore I laugh in your faces with my laughter of the heights. Therefore I tear at your webs, that your rage may lure you out of your lie-holes and your revenge may leap out from behind your word, 'justice'. For that man be delivered from revenge, that is for me the bridge to the highest hope, and a rainbow after long storms.

Everyone couldn’t participate in the first Great Migration. After the Civil War it was encouraged that former slaves remain in regions to be paid a wage. The Union Army held those ancestors as contraband against their will in Natchez. Some where executed, starved to death, or tortured. That’s the condensed version.

"You preachers of equality, the tyrannomania of impotence clamors thus out of you for equality: your most secret ambitions to be tyrants thus shroud themselves in words of virtue. Aggrieved conceit, repressed envy-perhaps the conceit and envy of your fathers-erupt from you as a flame and as the frenzy of revenge.
What was silent in the father speaks in the son; and often I found the son the unveiled secret of the father.
They are like enthusiasts, yet it is not the heart that fires them-but revenge. And when they become elegant and cold, it is not the spirit but envy that makes them elegant and cold. Their jealousy leads them even on the paths of thinkers; and this is the sign of their jealousy: they always go too far, till their weariness must in the end lie down to sleep in the snow. Out of every one of their complaints sounds revenge; in their praise there is always a sting, and to be a judge seems bliss to them.
But thus I counsel you, my friends: Mistrust all in whom the impulse to punish is powerful. They are people of a low sort and stock; the hangman and the bloodhound look out of their faces. Mistrust all who talk much of their justice! Verily, their souls lack more than honey. And when they call themselves the good and the just, do not forget that they would be pharisees, if only they had-power." - Thus Spoke Zarathustra
