Sometimes if I want to add 2 Google Titan Keys for an App it is somehow not working? Do you know why. And sometimes it is asking for a password and sometimes not after plug it in for set up
Great question. No. There are no batteries in either Titan Security Key. First gen or current second gen. The key is powered by the device (host) usb-c port when you plug it in. But you know what.... The first gen does have a Bluetooth option I believe. Hmmm 🤔 I'm going to look into that for you for the 1st gen Titan security key but 2nd gen runs off the host device and the NFC is just a digital tag under the plastic. I'll look into the 1st gen though. Thank you!
You mention that Google Advanced Protection will lock down your phone to the extent that you can ONLY download Google apps. This might be the case with an Android phone, but is not the case with iPhones. I have the Advanced Protection and I can download and use any app I want on my iPhone. My wish was to protect my Google accounts, which AP does, and I'm less concerned about locking down the phone entirely, which is now available with native Apple tech btw.
Yes you can use it for a bunch of Gmail addresses. We have our protecting all of my emails (like 10 emails LoL), my wife's (2 email) and my daughter's email address.
Yubikey is superior since it has so many functionalities and widely adopted and supported. But for the basic part both are great and Google partnered with many others including Yubikey to provide a secure unified standards to logon and verify. The enemy is the attacker and both are working to secure accounts and access.
Yes, the pixel 7 Pro has a titan security chip inside of the device. Similar to the titan security usb-c key dongle. Not the exact same one or the same thing however. You can setup and use your Pixel 7 Pro as a "Passkey" for other devices such as a Windows PC and/or laptop. Google: "Pixel 7 Pro Titan Security Chip".
As of now there is no end of life software support that I can think of. These should be supported, continued support for a long time. Probably 10-15 years I'm guessing. Don't know for sure.
Nothing. Still have to input your Gmail password and if someone randomly finds it they won't know your Gmail or your password. It does nothing if you random find the USB stick

I have never used the YubiKey.

Google started putting Titan Security Chips in the Pixel 6 series devices. Also in Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 Series devices and all moving forward.
Can someone just record the nfc signal?!
Any idea about longevity of the key ?
As of now there is no end of life software support that I can think of. These should be supported, continued support for a long time. Probably 10-15 years I'm guessing. Don't know for sure.
Holy moly, it never occurred to me to protect my email account with my fingerprint
