    gasparyan's right elbow moved so much more on the 214 than on his first lift... i don't understand these judges...

    • @plavyn
      @plavyn 2 года назад +11

      I just don’t understand why the jury are allowed to randomly examine lifts. Surely they should only be activated at the request of the teams otherwise the refs decision stands

      The only thing consistent with weightlifting judging these days is how inconsistent it is. The idiocy of the "press out" that is no such thing continues.

      Would be better if:
      No more jury
      No more slow-mo replays
      3 refs only watching in real time

      All the judges came together and said “how far do you reckon we could take the piss before the WL comities realise what we’re doing”😂

    At 1:24:30 the tense drama of Rasulbekov's clock running down and he has to run out and lift immediately! That's excitement!

    as impressive as antropov and meso are, rasulbekovs final lift with barely 10 seconds to go is legendary.

    I've been looking forward to this video for a while... wanted to see what the whole controversy was about from the Armenian team's complaints. Rightfully so, not sure what the judges saw to disallow Gasparyan's first C&J... killed his chance of going for the Gold.

    This was definitely the strangest session of the championships. Power outage delays, plus a variety of lifters in this strange non-olympic class, and most of them not at their best. The snatch and C&J had completely different top-4 finishers. The difference between the two lifts were more extreme in this group than in any others, I'm pretty sure. The best guy (Meso) won the total, but it was close.

    Foolishly 5 months after a lumbar lamenectomy atL4- L5-S-1 I clean and jerked 102kg at a body weight of 78kg. I didn't reinjure myself. I just needed to reassure myself that I was still capable.

      Not a very important event. Shi Zhiyong and Tian Tao didnt even compete. Like in 2017, when most catagory winners were much lower than WR. 2023 will be an important one and guy like Yang Zhe will make some 190+ snatch in 102 or Tian Tao will make some 220+ c&j in 89, lmao. Also people complain much about Bogota condition like not enough oxygen. Except of Li Fabin, Karlos Nasar WR, which look hard to break, Rahmat one look struggle and can easily be break by Shi Zhiyong.

      Decades ago, my then-wife and I were USPF National refs. You cannot fathom the backstage pressure that's put on strength sport refs. Threats of violence are not uncommon. Threats to politic you out of future big meets are constant. I've never seen a bribe, but given the open drug dealing we saw, I wouldn't be surprised that it happens. The desire to "win" by any means possible is epidemic. Integrity and decency in judging are rare commodities.The best powerlifting ref I ever saw was my ex, Sharlene M. Simon of North Carolina. She never missed a call and was unshakable in her rulings. A respected ref and lifter.

    • @ChumblesMumbles
      @ChumblesMumbles 2 года назад +1

      He's Egyptian by origin, moved to Qatar for international competition and took on a Qatari name. Actual family name is Hassouna, and "Meso" is his commonly used name/nickname. Makes it really confusing when you see a different name on the board.

    Правила Подъёма Давно Пора Менять. Если Атлет Поднял И Держит Штангу Над Головой - Надо Засчитывать Попытку. Разгибание Локтей В Завершающей Фазе, Касание Ими Колен Должно Быть Отменено, Так Как Это Угнетает И Демотивирует Атлетов, Убивая В Них Само Желание Заниматься Тяжёлой Атлетикой.
