Emilia Perez was written and directed by a French director, with a French editor, a French cinematographer, music composed by French persons, and was shot in France. How is not a French movie?
I get why it happens, I just wish we could all agree, especially when it comes to awards season, that the Argentine film directed by an Argentine and that was set in Argentina was not a Danish film.
I've also been trying to watch a narrative feature from every country. I've been at it for a few years and still have over 100 to go. Since you're focusing on South America in 2025, I'd like to recommend the following two films, if you haven't already seen them: Sealed Cargo (2015 - Bolivia), The House at the End of Time (2013 - Venezuela).
@@CinemateqConnect Thanks mate! Love your content btw :) I would say it’s The Battle of Baktan Cross, Bugonia, Mickey 17, Mission Impossible 8, Sentimental Value, No Other Choice, Sinners and The Bride.
I watched 383 movies last year. So i guess in now the cinephile supreme.
If only that's how it worked ;)
Dude all this new content is so damn good 🫡
Thank you!

I guess it was all of the Spanish that threw me off. Whoops!
@CinemateqConnect But I agree with you about all the films that have just a small production company from an other country involved. Pisses me off too

Look back is on prime.
Its also a semi autobiography of the author.

Thank you for the suggestions!
So my goals for 2025 are to watch all of my most anticipated movies (35) in cinema and to not rewatch any movies at all ✌️
Best of luck to you! Which films are you most excited about?

Have you seen French film Beating Hearts from 2024? It is awesome!
Not yet, but I hope to see it soon!
Greenland should be green. It's part of Denmark still.
I think Letterboxd does countries a little differently. Autonomous regions might be counted separately from their parent country.
I'm from India, you should have to watch Indian films because there're lot of good movies!
I know! I need to watch more. Hopefully this year I'll see some old and new ones.
@CinemateqConnect So watch Maharaja 2024 movie, sir! Its really so much good, you have to put it in the watchlist.
