Velocity grew to be my favorite cyberforce character especially when The comic looks so exciting in terms of sequential art ,the story and how it’s colored. Speaking of the marker aesthetic of coloring,I actually love that when I use spectrum noir markers and using the marker tool on clips studio\m/
Stylistically opposite to Rocafort, I'd love to see your analysis on Francisco Herrera (namely his Soulfire run over at Aspen) and early Humberto Ramos. Man, I look forward to your videos nonetheless!!
Really dig Rocafort's style. Has that graf style. I have a bunch of his covers and books he's done interiors for like X-O Manowar, Livewire and others...really dope lines and colors...
First time I saw his work was on some Superman story where Supes was in some machine that was simulating the weight of the planet to work out. His run on Ultimates was legit. I think he just does covers now for Valiant Comics.
Hey Rich, great video as ever. I have a suggestion for an artist that I've never seen anyone cover. How about taking a look at Mat Broome, specifically his miniseries Defcon 4. Thanks.
I would *_LOVE_* to know how the coloring was done! I see things like color holds and the starkness of the line art, which sure makes me *_think_* that the coloring is digital, but I don't know what gives those kind of results in the overall coloring. It does sorta look like marker on vellum. Maybe Corel Painter--? www.deviantart.com/sunnygho
I saw a recent submissions guideline to Top Cow. That is only for artists that work digitally. Read Cintiq. What I find odd, because Silvestri, himself would never be allowed to submit without a Cintiq. Windor and Newton? No pal. You're no good. LOL :)
interesting. Not sure I see the point past they can't afford to hire a full team. That might be the bottom line...not sure how well Top Cow comics sell (not literally these days) but say the past 2 or 3 years.
@@RichardFriendartist I'm not sure too. But the Style of art is not like this anymore. I think when Rockafort did this, it was the last time the art looked like "top cow".
I first saw Kenneth’s work on Superman. I like his panel layouts
yeah his layouts are really great!

Wow very cool stuff...I think I’m a fan of velocity! Thanks for this
Dude you cover all of my top favorite artists. What are the odds
Kenneth!! Sooo Awesome!!! Yayyy! His Cyberforce: Hunter-Killer run was epic too!
Thanks man, so cool!
oh yeah. I have those. Totally forget about that work!!
@@KrayFish4Ever no problem.
I really dug how similar Silvestri's style is similar (around Cyberforce reboot) although, obviously different.

Kenneth lives in Puerto Rico! Rich you should do his sketchbook pages from instagram. So Coooool :)
I love Kenneth's work...I second the Mat Broome comment.

Studied his art for days
Nice!
Thanks for these Rich, these videos are very inspiring for me.

I will have to check those out. Do you know the series name? (I can google it of course) :)
@@RichardFriendartist Regarding the covers, X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, and another with a female character that I can't remember.

Thanks.
My favorite character.
His powergirl is one of the best PG drawings there is

it does look like corel painter but it could be photoshop or even something else.
I have this same Velocity Trade paperback
awesome channel if i need a visual catalog of artists to work with i am using your page. can you do brian bolland and bernie wrightson
Manabat was an awesome artist
I've done a video on him and Cybernary/ He was great for sure and had a TON of potential we never got to see evolve unfortunately.
You should do Canete next!
I wonder if he used traditional media like pencil, pens/ink and markers and then added digital effects to them in Photoshop.
I want to know that too when it comes to pages. There is such a lack of information this days about the artists we admire.
@@Zoltarman Funny how the discussion has turned to one about the colorist! ;) He lives in Malaysia, I think.
