- Neighbors who live along West 97th Street are heartbroken about the death of a 16-month-old baby girl. The baby's mother, 31-year-old Kristel Candelario, is charged with murder in connection to her daughter's death.
According to Cleveland Municipal Court records, Candelario told police she left her 16-month-old daughter home alone and unattended while she went on vacation to Puerto Rico and Detroit.
A neighbor said this isn't the first time she left the baby home alone.

Yes and their ring camera picked up footage of the mother leaving, the baby wailing, crying in agony from starvation , dehydration and pain all in a saturated playpen of urine and feces. So, so sad. They're pure Evil! It's infuriating. Nevertheless, it's a misdemeanor of the 4 degree if a person fails to report suspected neglect or abuse in the state of Ohio and many states in the US. In this case it was direct knowledge of severe neglect and they did Nothing to alarm the authorities! Sickening to the core!
People don't have xray vision or psychic powers. This isn't something you assume. She didn't even ask anyone to watch her.

The neighbor says in the video that she kept leaving the baby home alone and they told her to stop doing it. If I knew someone was leaving a 1 year old at home CPS would be called but the police would’ve been called immediately.

I know the neighbours are upset, but if anyone knew that she had done this before, they should have told authorities. I know that doesn't guarantee that anything gets done, but at least they would have tried. But to ignore such neglect is pretty shameful.

This is possibly the most horrific and sad story I've heard all year. I can only imagine the terror and misery that child endured. It also breaks my heart that no one heard her cries.. 😭

You had opportunities to report that wonderful, loving, caring mother to the Department of Children and Family Services and failed to do so. I have had several foster kids, ive adopted, i had my own.
But my body is giving up and unless a miracle happens, i won't be able to help these little ones again.
Being a foster parent is soo rewarding! I hope more families will start to step up to the plate and get involved.
My fosters are still MY BABIES and were able to overcome and succeed with just some love, and as horrible as it is- with food and a clean environment with someone who is patient and can stay calm can turn the life of a kid around!
My children are grown and gone, some married-some living their lives. But all of them became successful and are living their dreams.
My doors will always be open to my forever babies❤❤❤❤❤

I remember so well when I was young praying for someone to come and get me out of my own home!! There was no parental connection from my parents. I was soo jealous of kids that had a mother who told them they were loved, or even a kid who got hugs and kisses from their parents. I can't remember a time when either of my parents told me they loved me- and I DEFINITELY don't remember much in terms of a hug, or a story read to me, or having someone pack a lunch for me from home. Nothing- ever. I remember feeling so unloved! I never want any child to feel it!! I'm 56 years old and I still carry the pain of having very shallow emotionally empty parents!
These children who are getting killed- are getting much less than I did!

How can anyone do that? , who did she think was going to feed the child or change her, did she even care! This is horrible, and also that it's happened before and people knew. Why did no one call child services ? This was preventable. We do not have enough protections in this country for our most vulnerable .
