Y’all are SO ON POINT with ranking the later episodes as the least favorites. Even though we get so many dreamy wishlist moments, I feel like I needed a wellness check by the end of it. My heart felt like it went through a meat grinder. I’m a romcom girlie, so episode 3 was the best thing ever because the carnage encapsulated in “he fell harder” was SO SATISFYING. I kept yelling at my tv, “You beautiful dumb-dumbs!” Thank you ladies for keeping the joy of Polin alive. Can’t wait to hear the rewatches of S3!
Oh yes I agree with you! I was definitely not well when I finished part 2 for the first time. A lot of dark drama with too quick a resolution. So I was an emotional mess at the end. My emotions were all over the place : happy of course but deeply frustrated at the same time. Things have gotten better after several rewatches, because I know what is going to follow next, so I can brace myself, and don't have to fear a bad surprise coming next, unlike the first time. I will not necessarily approve some choices made by the writers but at least I can deal more easily with it now. For the most part. Yeah the romcom part was so satisfying indeed! It was delicious to witness Colin falling hard for Pen, longing and pining for her. I'm waiting for Polin in marriage bliss in S4 🥰 to heal completely from the rollercoaster of S3 🫠
Colin “My Wife” Bridgerton will be home in all of his peaceful-ish glory! I’m nervous about how Pen will tow the line with the Queen…but I think it will truly be Polin Against the World after our beloved couple has survived being thrown out of a plane into shark-infested waters. Have I mentioned earlier that part 2 was traumatizing? My gosh, it was like buying a movie ticket to Land Before Time and expecting a cute dinosaur story when it actually ripped your heart out and stomped on it.
Thanks for yet another great episode! Made me reallze that Up Where We Belong is an amazing song for Polin: there are Mountains in our way but we climb a step every day. Love lifts us up where we belong...
I absolutely agree about about Ep 4 during the Luke storming the ballroom and letting us see Colin and Pen begin dancing., esp since this the first dance between Polin since Season 2. I also didn’t put together that Colin wanted to stay home so that he could rest and maybe go to sleep so that he could see Pen. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😭😭
7:11 Omg! Croatia! You were in Croatia, Obvs! Can't believe it! I'm from Croatia. Hope you had good time here, maybe on some remote island with no people around you ;)
Oh I definitely agree. Thank you for making the point about s3e1. I really wanted Colin to really understand why what he said was wrong, I don’t know maybe if she cried a little more, when he found out or something. Like I wanted Colin to see what his words did, that felt too rushed over for me but what can I say, Colin still has my heart 😂
I just feel 3x08 was character assignation for poor Colin. They really did him dirty. They needed to have the reveal sooner or have him get over it faster because it just wasn’t a big enough payoff for the audience with that much angst.
i truly thought that when u guys did the breaking crumbs and were like 'it's a month later' that you'd taken 10 mins for ur rankings and forgotten to record and finish the episode ahahha I just thought u guys had gotten so into debating and ranking the episodes you'd forgotten lol
I'm new to Bridgerton. Season 3 was my first watch so the later episodes in the season seemed so out of character to the Colin I met in the first four. I'd like to share my rankings based on not watching the previous seasons. #1-Ep 3 #2-Ep 7 #3-Ep 4 #4-Ep 2 #5-Ep 1 #6-Ep 5 #7-Ep 8 #8-Ep 6
Episode 4 superiority! And I shall be defending brothel scene (mind you, I was not the biggest fan of the first one). Colin is stuck. He knows he is in love. He fears he will bungle the friendship. He knows deep down Debling outranks him. So he tries his best to distract himself. By his journal. By his buddies. By alcohol. And, of course, by casual sex. Anthony spent good amount of his life having casual sex as an unmarried man. He shall not walk into the brothel once he is commited. But Colin believes that he fell for a friend who does not return his feelings and who finally found her hapinness. People have argued that you have enough scenes to sell Colin's pain, that you do not need this scene. But I will humbly disagree. Why wouldn't the "rakish" Colin try every distraction on the table? What is more important for me is that he does not want to be there or participate and the worker herself needs to point it out for him to admit it and to sit this one out, wirhout looking at them. It is frustrating, heartbreaking, and it shows how fundementally hurting the persona was for him. It also shows that each other door is closed for him. If it were in part 2, I would agree with the critisism. As it is here, I absolutely defend it. Edit: As for the timing, I take it as Colin realizing that they are only meeting the other night, panicking that he does not have a distraction until then... and choosing this distraction.
I completely know why the brothel scene may not sit well with everyone (especially me 🥕) but I also see the points you’ve highlighted. Colin is clearly trying to escape his feelings in any way he can, and while it's uncomfortable to watch, it really drives home just how lost and desperate he is at this moment. The fact that he doesn’t go through with it speaks volumes about his internal conflict and sense of morality. His pain is evident, and this scene adds another layer to that struggle, showing how far he’s willing to go in an attempt to distract himself from feelings he doesn’t know how to manage.

The second half of the season gave anxiety instead of angst.
Thanks for yet another great episode! Made me reallze that Up Where We Belong is an amazing song for Polin: there are Mountains in our way but we climb a step every day. Love lifts us up where we belong...
Thanks for listening, and fun song suggestion!
What a great episode….listened to you on a trip from Virginia to NY to visit family. Loved every minute of it.
Oooh thanks for letting us accompany you on your road trip!

@@emmaskorepa3173 neither had I... so sweet... he definitely fell harder!
Hopefully we’ll see more dances from them next season 🤞
The reshot scenes with the wigs totally take me out of it as well!

My ranking changes when i rewatch each time so i don't know how to rank. Also depends on my mood hahha😅😅
Oh 100% same! Different when we’re happy, different when we’re sad, different during a full moon…
