Am I the only one who thinks this is much ado about nothing? I'm black and I despise white supremacists/nationalists, but does it even matter? Is there really much difference between mainstream republicans and white nationalists? Republicans who do not identify themselves as white nationalists are echoing white nationalist talking points and are increasingly advocated white nationalist policies. I think these women are opposed to the idea of the man being a white nationalist, but they and other republicans likely embrace many of the racist policies of white nationalists.

As a citizen of Enid for 18+ years, I’m glad that this is seeing the light of day. Too many people in this town want to sweep this under the rug and pretend that this is some smear campaign, when in reality it’s pretty simple: people in Ward 1 support a man who thinks folks (like me) who have “too much” melanin in their skin are inherently inferior. This open bigotry should be tossed into the dust bin of history. Kudos to these women and the people of Enid speaking out against this, no matter their political affiliation. We can do better!
One of the scariest thing is that even if they knew this, this probably wouldn't deter a lot of conservatives from voting for him. Scary stuff, man...

I don't think we talk enough about the extremism within the ranks of our military and how aggressively these types of groups target our young military members. My husband if a vet and he said it was bad even back in the 1990's.
I don't think many of had any idea that these groups were so plentiful until trump brought them out of basements and the forest encompments into the mainstream. I live in the Pacific NW and we've had them show up at every event (even food fairs) for decades simply to make mayhem. They'd be bused in from Northern Washington and Idaho. Now the live here, too. They're everywhere.
I was blissfully unaware of how much hate and ignorance existed in our nation founded on open minds, open hearts and open arms. Now I know and it breaks my heart how deep the sickness runs in the souls of fellow Americans.
Vice did a documentary on this issue. Incredibly eye opening. It was also interesting to see that some of these guys went to Ukraine, pre-war, to train with white supremacists there. The Russian gov is wrong for their invasion, but they were right in stating that there are white supremacist groups running rampant in the country.

It was worse in the 90s, from what I hear, anyway. (Waco, Ruby Ridge, OKC, etc were all products of & catalysts for the right wing renaissance during the 90s. Combine all those new groups looking for military recruits with the end of the Cold War ensuring a military career was a lot less promising than it had seemed a few years prior &, well, let’s just say it was easy to stay well armed as a racist.

My favorite part about living in Oklahoma is the view I get from the window of an airplane as I'm leaving. It's a truly beautiful sight... My least favorite is coming back.

I took a year long tech job in Enid, it was the longest year of my life. However, I worked in Tulsa and enjoyed my time there. Two very different vibes.

I was called a fascist today by a Repub because I think it's ok for the government to mandate certain things. I asked if they were anti fascism, or antifa, and they went crazy to explain why they aren't. So I said, then you're for fascism, if you aren't anti-fascism.
Guarantee you that Republican is fine with the government mandating all sorts of things; they just draw arbitrary lines for certain things that step on their ideological toes.
