    I got my US visa on my first attempt. I even applied in a third party country (where I am not a permanent resident). My interview was smooth and easy. I believe that getting the visa is about trying and being confident and genuine in your reasons. Good luck to everyone trying.

      Hello, I'm happy to hear that!. I'm from Ethiopia but I currently study in Ukraine. I want to visit my uncle this summer in US and spend 1 month with him. Any tips, and experience to share with me please?

    • @walter1938
      @walter1938 5 лет назад +1

      @@adoonkiiallah3568 Hi. Being a student helps you demonstrate social ties to Ukraine. The Immigration Officer will make a judgement based on how long you've lived in Ukraine and how much longer your residency permits. If you have a job, that'll also serve well to your advantage. If you have other visas (such as UK, Schengen, Australia, etc) in your passport and have traveled on them, your chances are higher. You will also need to be able to convince the Immigration Officer that you will be able to afford the cost of travel (demonstrating financial capabilities) and also return after your visit. Lastly, do not make mistakes in your DS-160 visa application form and do not lie. Genuine reasons and a strong case will help you get a visa.
      It is a short process and the Immigration Officer will not demand to see documents (but go with them just in case). S/he will judge by the information you provide and your level of confidence. Good luck!

      @@walter1938 thank you for the information. one last thing, should i supposed to book a back air thicket to show them that i am coming back or just showing my university id is enough to be a tie. by the way my uncle is covering all the expenses and accommodation coz im staying with him. do i need bank statment?

    • @walter1938
      @walter1938 5 лет назад

      @@adoonkiiallah3568 No, you are not supposed to buy a ticket. It is not advisable in case your application gets denied and you lose hundreds of dollars in the process. All you require is a confirmed booking, which you can get on most airline websites. As for your uncle sponsoring your trip... that is a tricky situation. If your dad or mom were to sponsor, its easier to agree. But your uncle, who lives in the US, will be seen as a ploy to get you over to stay for good. I am mot saying that it is a bad idea, but the Immigration Officer will have doubts. If you had the funds in your account it will be easier. Alternatively, you can get your uncle's bank statements, get him to write you a letter of invitation and also a letter that states that he will be your sponsor. He should provide as much details as possible and both of you should provide enough evidence to show your relationship. Hopefully that works.
      P. s. I am not an immigration expert or lawyer. I have only been fortunate enough to get all the visas I have applied for and not one rejection. Do not take my words as final. Still seek further advice. Good luck!

    I am a freshly graduated dentist who had applied to attend a convention and tourism (b1/b2)
    I had very low expectations due to the following reasons:
    I am only 24 and fresh pass out
    I am currently unemployed as I'm studying for entrance to pursue master's
    I am unmarried
    However, my interview lasted for barely a minute where a volley of questions was thrown at me which I answered like a pro (uncountable number of vivas during 5 years of dental school does that to you😂)
    My visa was approved!!
    So yeah, I feel luck and the visa officer's mood is a major factor but you can be confident in the way you present yourself and improve your chances!

    1>Are you working in India or in China ? ans>India
    2> How long you are with this company ? Ans>2 month
    3> Why they are sending you in such short duration? Ans: Its company internal program where they send new employees to Us for training purpose. It will help me to learn how US team deals with clients and how they collaborate with offshore teams
    4> Purpose of visit? Answer: Its company profile training and Buisness and cooperation discussion

    my question is. she and her sister applied seprately but chose same date and time for visa interview. her sister is unmarried.
    my wife was suppose to have her interview seprately as her status is diffrent. but the embassy compined there passport together and said u both are together. which makes no sense. can u tell me is it there fault by combining bith passport for group interview. ?

      amrish sharma indians are willing to pay a big amount like around 12000 rupees to apply for a tourist visa and it's not even refundable.. they make you stand in line for an hour plus and when your turn comes you're made to stand and give the interview while the interviewer across the glass sits and can sometimes make useless conversation or apparently so.. btw i got rejected today :).. not applying again anytime soon.. I don't care really to be in the usa even though so many of my relatives are there..some have even become us citizens

      The officer was probably looking at your details and history from the USA. They have access to a lot of information. If they feel your history can influence you on settling there again, they will refuse the visa! But, that does not mean you cannot get it. Just fill out complete details on the DS-160 (especially those asking you about your US connections). I believe there is no word limit and you can type as much as you like.

    • @minecraftperson999
      @minecraftperson999 7 лет назад

      Troy Sinister based off what you’ve said, I’m guessing they denied you because you don’t have strong enough ties to Jamaica yet you have a larger amount of savings. So what it looks like to them is that you are planning to run away from Jamaica and overstay your welcome in the U.S as an illegal immigrant.
      The reason I say this is because you haven’t been in your job for a relatively long time, you have no kids, and you have a lot of savings and a relative in the US that you could live with.
      What you should have done is say you have no relatives in the US and reinforce the fact that you will be returning to Jamaica eventually

    • @johnlocke4226
      @johnlocke4226 6 лет назад

      This will not help you at all. If the permanent resident is sponsoring you, then they'll assume that someone in the US is ready to take care of you and you'll join that permanent resident! They will infer immigrant intent. This is a bad idea. Just fill your DS-160 well and focus on demonstrating your ties here in India and convince them that you'll come back!

    I dont think it was "luck" that you had your us visa. The Consul was able to establish from your answers to her question that you are coming bacck to your country of origin. For her thats enough and would be tiresome to have more grueling questions to have her try to know if you have strong ties for coming back. Just one or two several questions and they know alreaddy of youre returning to country of origin.
