2022 K- Food: "Taste of Korea" in San Francisco

주샌프란시스코 총영사관은 2022 한국주간 K-Food 행사의 일환으로 한국불교문화사업단과 공동으로 사찰음식 명장 선재스님을 초청하여 "Taste of Korea : Korean Temple Food" 제하 한국 전통 사찰음식 소개 행사를 개최하였습니다.
6.15(수)에는 초청자 대상 만찬 행사를 SF War Memorial & Performing Arts Center의 Green Room에서 개최하였으며, 6.16(목)에는 UC 버클리 동문회관에서 일반인 대상 강연 및 시식행사를 실시하였습니다.
양일간 외교단, 시청 관계자, 종교계 및 문화계, 기업 인사, 동포 등 250명이 넘는 분들이 참석하여 1700년 한국 불교의 역사가 담긴 사찰음식을 체험하고 배우는 시간을 가졌습니다.
As part of the Korea Week 2022 K-Food event, the Consulate General of Korea in San Francisco invited Ven. Sunjae, a Buddhist nun and master of temple food, jointly with the Cultural Corps of Korean Buddhism, and held events to introduce Korean traditional temple food under the title “Taste of Korea: Korean Temple Food.”
On 6.15 (Wednesday), a dinner event for invited guests was held in the Green Room of the SF War Memorial & Performing Arts Center, and on 6.16 (Thursday), a lecture and tasting event were held for the general public at the UC Berkeley Alumni House.
Over 250 people from diplomatic corps, city hall officials, people from religious, cultural, business sectors in Bay area attended the events in San Francisco and Berkeley and had and a wonderful opportunity to experience and learn about Korean temple food which incorporates the 1700-year-old tradition of Korean Buddhism.
