Has nothing to do with both😉 it's because of the high tip speeds AND high chord of the rotorblades! They reach up to 1100 km/h of tip speed when in fast forward flight! That leads to transonic flow shocks above the blades, and that's the whap-whap-whap

@@JetKeene2 ah, very interesting, makes sense, lots of companies in Europe and Japan have their own companies that license build these copters. Subaru is making Bell 412s as you probably know
@@JetKeene2now that you mention it, the tail rotor does indeed look bigger. IIRC Bell swapped the tail rotor to the right side as they found it to be more effective in that arrangement.
