Man this is a refreshingly in depth video. Tired of special superficial videos glossing over topics on RUclips

Thanks a lot for this basics, this is the first time learning about even if seen for almost two decades

Very helpful. I had COVID, two seizures, and a troubling EEG last summer. Now I am very healthy and stable, but on lowest Keppra dose for safety.
Now I’d like to figure out if my ongoing seizure risk is diminishing (as COVID inflammation is gone) or if I have reason for concern.
I’d love to find an affordable home system with simplest eeg to warn me about signs of seizure patterns. Then I could pursue professional follow up.
Thanks for any tips exploring such systems.

Very effective explanation and great presentation. I've had dozens of these procedures myself and never understood it as well. Much respect from Colorado, USA.

    Excellent explanation.
I just cannot grasp how two frequencies can superimpose from the same channel recording.

    Delta: 0.5 - 3
    Theta: 4 - 7
    Alpha: 8 - 12
    Beta: 13 - 30
    Gamma: 30 - [i can't remember]
    ...enough said.

Vestibular Question...Can pppd or other inner ear issues show up on an eeg? What I mean is can an inner ear issue cause misfires in the brain due to the wrong signals being passed through ears, eyes, brain ect?

How does super imposes effect scoring, would you look at the wave or the super imposed waves? And how does this apply?

i would also like to make a little correction- beta band is between 13 and 30 Hz, higher frequencies lie in gamma band :)

Thank you very much for these explanations. I'm a first year PhD student in Clinical Psychology and I would ask to you and to all the participants of this conversation if someone knows about GEODESIC (EGI). Is a 256 dense-array's EEG and I'm just approaching to it. I would like to understand the potential of this machine in the research. Thanks!!

What does it mean when you have a faster frequency superimposed on a slower one?

    • @EEGucation
      @EEGucation  3 года назад +1

When 2 frequencies occur simultaneously, their summation appears as if one frequency is resting on top of another.

If there is an area of high conductivity how would this affect the potential recorded by the EEG electrodes around the head??

Suppose that there is an area of high conductivity within the brain how would this affect the potential recorded by the EEG electrodes around the head?

at 8:22, How can one get O1-CAR? Is the O1-CAR(common averaged reference) calculated or a direct reading? I guess FP1-F3 (8:12) is a direct reading.
