I went to Nairobi, and Mombosa, back in spring. Very beautiful place, love the airports. However, Mombosa's airport is a little outdated, but it is nice. Domestic terminal for Nairobi, is okay..
Yes I agree with you there...I’m a New York City resident and looking back at Mombasa and Nairobi’s airports they are outdated.However Kenya is 3rd world country so we can’t expect much.Also I’m a native Caribbean islander and Mombasa and Nairobi’s airports reminds me a lot of my country’s airport but from the 1980s

I don’t understand why the airplane had to fly so high above the clouds when the trip from Nairobi to Mombasa is roughly less than an hour.
Good question, there may be many reasons but i think the main reason is for fuel efficiency. The atmosphere becomes thinner at higher altitudes, and so less drag is created for the plane to travel.
@@Supahemz yes your right.your absolutely right.I heard something along those lines about that...now that brings to my next question.why do airplanes do fuel dumping during mid flight if the pilot has already calculated how much fuel will be needed for their trip ? We know that airplanes store their fuel in the wings of the plane due to weight efficiency
@@Final_Fantasy_7 Fuel dumping (or a fuel jettison) is a procedure used by aircraft in certain emergency situations before a return to the airport shortly after takeoff, or before landing short of the intended destination (emergency landing) to reduce the aircraft's weight.
It seems likely the the cloud tops were quite low that day. As has been pointed out the higher you fly the better the fuel efficiency.

The distance between Nairobi and Mombasa is not too long. May be 1:30 that´s all.
