I was there too, finished about 5 mins back from you. It's a nice Parkrun, and you captured it well. The only thing I'd mention is that, as it's quite a busy event (nearly 600 a couple of weeks back for example), start close to the front if you're going for a time. I made the mistake of starting about half way down the field, and was almost on the far side of the cricket pitch before I could really get going!
I will put that in the notes and add it in on future vlogs where appropriate. I usually look at last weeks results and see where I might finish. So in my case I thought about 50-60 and then position myself in an appropriate position. But I did what you did at Darlington South and lost around 20 seconds.
Great effort.. to come 50th and do a very good time shows a quality field this week 👍 you definitely pulled out the stops on that last mile.. hard but rewarding. Well done.
Thank you. Definitely a quality field. It’s a mental challenge at times but once the finish is in sight, I feel I can push to the line. I really want to get back under 20 minutes. But 13 seconds is a long way.
I was there! 😁 Its local to me, just a 10 minute walk! 😊 thanks for the video, first time I've seen our parkrun on vid! I've subscribed now so I can keep up with your parkrun journey! 😊
Thank you. How nice to have such a great local parkrun. And South Manchester must be very close as well. Thanks for subscribing. My videos are 90% parkrun and also a few other races that I do.
@@runparkrunwithme Yes South Manchester is walking distance from Alex park! I usually go between the two because I do all my training runs in Alex park! 😊
I was expecting Alexandra Palace (known as the "birthplace of British Television")... but that is called "Ally Pally" parkrun to distinguish it!
Ha ha, yes, somewhere completely different.
I have done Ally Pally years ago.

@@runparkrunwithme try the Easy Interval Method by Klaas Lok - sprinkle some surges into your runs to get your sub 20..
@@jamesware7763I’ll look into it.

Should be event 135 in the title
Thanks. Now sorted. I put x35 because I couldn’t remember. And then deleted the x, but forgot the 1
Another great time! To only end up 50th with that time showed it must be full of very good runners.
The week before there were 49 sub 20 finishers. I was really pleased with 50th
