It makes me think either that Scorchrunner is really good at reading people (or saw something in Coldshriek that scared him, like in your story), he got a sign from StarClan, or maybe Coldshriek confessed to him thinking he could trust Scorchrunner to keep the secret (possibly due to that fierce nature?).

Also I feel the went missing for a few days could be dependent on age. Elders seemed to do that more often than other ranks so I feel it shouldn’t count against them. But should count towards cats that know better and should know the territory to not get lost.

Oooh, with Snowleaf being friendly to Frostwhisper right after Coldshriek's exile, I wonder if like, the spats they'd been having previously had been about Coldshriek? Frostwhisper is a dreamwalker, so maybe he suspected something but couldn't get anything definite and either mentioned something or were just acting edgy around Coldshriek, and Snowleaf naturally wanted to defend his brother. But after it was revealed that Coldshriek did, in fact, do something, Snowleaf feels apologetic for not taking Frostwhisper's concerns more seriously and wants to make up for it?
No, he seems to live perpetually on edge--hopefully now he can get some peace though. I definitely think Coldshriek was at the root of the tensions, since that's the perfect "larger argument" for the two of them to have had
